One of your very best videos, James. The location, cinematography, interludes, variety of shots and … oh! … that wondrous V12. Really interesting to hear more of your back story and congratulations for your sheer perseverance and getting this far. Looking forward to more insights into your Ferrari collection.
Brilliant looking and sounding car 😍 and perfect location to take it for a spin 👌🏻 In regards to the settings it’s funny really that the general reaction to driving settings is it must be in the fastest mode incase you miss out on some minute performance gain, but yet its a supercar it’s never going to have an actual “slow” mode it’s always going to be ballistic in all of the settings 😂 quiet mode is the setting to turn off 😉
Really, really glad that the channel is thriving. It's well deserved. The quality of what you produce has long been high, and has continued to get higher, becoming perhaps my most watched car channel. That is no small matter to me, since it's probably my no.1 subject matter for watching on UA-cam, and amongst the various such channels I watch are those of Harry Metcalfe and Iain Tyrrell: in other words, you're more than holding your own with some very experienced and highly respected company. Long may you continue!
Massive Congratulations! Truly inspiring circumstances. Jeremy's bit on the F12 is what turned me onto Ferrari. Equal parts beauty and ferocity! I'll have one someday. Hopefully not too long from now.
Your success is well deserved James, hope it continues for you. That colour combo is proper 1980s Ferrari, must have been specced from new by someone like my old man who did the classic Rosso Corsa paint, Crema/Magnolia Leather, Black dash and red carpets!!
Context of one’s journey is such an important thing - it’s very easy to assume and judge and hope that your story gives everyone some inspiration to keep working towards their dreams, to pivot and adapt and keep marching. Oh and amazing car ! Congrats
I've always found you to be rather humble sir. Your videos are always very well produced. Hearing that you worked in cinema for several years. It shows in your videos. Keep up the good works.
Loved the comment about sharing the car with others, I am a new Ferrari owner, 2010 California, and was with the club on Sunday in Ludlow. We stopped for a walk around a farm shop, and then a pint (1/2 really). Came out to leave, and a young family was taking pictures of the car. I told them to wait, and asked them to record the car starting up. They were really happy and that's probably the best part of owning it.
Jay two of the most important human attributes are passion and gratitude and you nailed both here. And I suspect this is what Ferrari initially hoped his creations would elicit. Refreshing to see someone achieve a Ferrari through giving to others. Always appreciate your perspective. Clarkson (haven’t watched him in years) could take a few lessons from you IMO.
I remember when I watched Clarkson's piece on Top Gear vividly. I was 9 years old at the time and loved it. The F12 is still my favorite modern V12 Ferrari and it has aged beautifully! Hope to drive or even own one one day. Congrats on the car, brilliant spec!
You know what mate, I and am sure many other men have a similar story, I went from homeless to sticking with hard work, to getting to an F-type SVR. Can't quite believe it when looking back. Tough life, and bloody earnt that car. I hate it when ppl say I'm lucky. I'm not. It was sheer blood sweat tears and never giving up. Well done Jay. Love all your videos, and have a great deal of respect for you. For what it's worth, I have more hours watching you than top gear pal. You earnt that ferrari and its gorgeous. Well done....bloody well done. Keep the quality up, your channel is awesome. Just don't take it for granted mate...stay as grounded as you are now.
I'm glad to hear your story worked out too. Unfortunately people on the internet are willing to believe you have nice things for almost any reason other than you worked for them! I'm lucky and I would have not likely ever been homeless, however the things I have now were never a guarantee
I remember watching this episode on tv five or six years back, on that day I fell in love with this car f12 . The videography ,Jeremy Clarkson , the place and the f12 gave me a dream of driving this car one day in my life
I appreciate the background on your career in filmmaking leading up to the creation of your channel. It now makes sense why your videos are of such high quality. However I would have guessed you were a screen writer because your narration is exceptional. It really sets you apart from other automotive UA-camrs. Congratulations on your success and keep it coming!
Not even finished watching this film yet but just wanted to congratulate you on your success. The story at the beginning was both interesting and testimonial to having to take risks and push yourself to the limit in order to achieve in life. Genuinely inspired by it!
A spectacular production, ranging from wonderful wide angle shots to close-ups and detail, capturing the very essence of the F12 driving experience on the open road. Few other UA-camrs are managing this level of content. But more importantly, sharing your personal journey through life and what these cars, and the channel, mean to you. It's been a very great pleasure all the way for us subscribers and I have been lucky enough to play a tiny little part in the history, delivering my FK2 Civic Type R for review. Your observations still make me chuckle. Twas a grand day out for me, so thank you. There's something else in the pipeline that could come in your direction, but it's not quite ready yet (yes, I know, petrolheads ALWAYS have something in the pipeline).
The car is in a class of its own, and your evident appreciation of it makes for a truly enjoyable shared experience. As for the quality of the video production, those years in the film industry are paying dividends. Thanks for having us all along for the ride
Amazing piece of storytelling. Really surreal. I have that F12 topgear film permanently edged to my memory bank. I was 16 years old when it came out and it’s been one of my favourite pieces of automotive film. The music, the cinematography, jezza’s funny metaphors. So happy for you. Being able to pick up the pieces again and again. Renew yourself. Reinvent yourself. I’m personally stuck in a bit of a rut myself, but I know that the sun must set to rise. I wish you many happy miles. Do all that you can while you still can 👍🏾 Godspeed
James I can't think of a UA-camr who deserves it more. You put in so much work. Your stato like knowledge is second to none. Having been lucky enough to do a video with you I know you are one of the few genuine people in this crazy world...what a car. And what an achievement.
The number plate on the F12 in Clarkson's film is F12 FNE.. Yours is F12 TOO. A tribute perhaps? This is a wonderfully made film. Your candid honesty is refreshing. Your love of cars shines through and man, the enjoyment of that drive is felt all the way across the pond here in the southeastern US. Thank you for sharing and taking us along for the ride! Congratulations on your F12!
Congratulations on your F12! I felt the same way about that Top Gear film and what a tribute you've made This is definitely your greatest work and it was a pleasure to watch
Shit James, you got me all dewey-eyed! I think this is your best offering yet. Magnificent and worthy tribute to Ye Olde Top Gear, Saint Clarkson the Irascible, the glorious F12 and of course fabulous Scotland the Moody - sorry, I mean Hertfordshire the Hilly. If this doesn't get a million views, then I'll eat my hat. Now where have I heard that expression before? Thank you, thank you, thank you 🤗
Man when that song started playing "Man on Mars" tied with those amazing shots after your honest and inspiring story, it moved something in me. Brother you're out there almost making a grown man cry. Congratulations and thank you for sharing!!
Congratulations James on a splendid achievement, love the F12. I hope that you’ve bought the number plate as well. The location for this video and amazing background shots were simply wonderful. 1000 videos made so far on your channel. That is a truly impressive feat in a rather short period of time. Oh those early Lotus days seem like yesterday.
Fantastic video. Loved every second. I think what a lot of people don't realise is that supercars aren't just owned by people born into obscene wealth who have never had to work a day in their lives. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are some, but a lot, if not most, supercar owners are really children who are living out their dream, having worked hard and been through a lot to get to where they are. Same with the maninetto thing. I'm pretty sure the criticism only really comes from people who haven't bought a dream car at massive cost. When you've worked so hard to achieve your dream, you want to do your absolute best to protect it, and the fact that the Maninetto has a wet mode is, I think, brilliant. The fact it also makes the car better to drive in the wet is an added bonus. And what a car the F12 is. I've never been much of a modern Ferrari person, my favourites being the F355 and F50, but from watching your videos I've come to massively respect them, I see the appeal, and the F12 is probably one of the best candidates for me. Lovely. Keep on achieving, you deserve it. And thankyou. Thankyou for sharing your ownership, warts and all, the emotions and so on. It lets people like me live vicariously through your experiences 😁
Didn't come across as pretentious at all. Loved this one. The extra cinematics as a viewer was absolutely worth your editing cost for doing it. I turned on the hifi. What I took from this was to remind me that if you have a destination, to remember there are multiple ways to get there. If the road you're on is filled with grandma's and roadworks, find and persue an alternate route.
That was utterly splendid. A fascinating story, wrapped up in a superb piece of filmmaking. I was pleased to hear you say you're thirty per cent Clarkson wannabe, because Jezza can't go on forever, and although I'm sure I can't have watched many more than a tenth of your thousand videos, that's been enough to convince me that you're the man to carry the torch on for a global audience of car lovers. I hope to keep watching for a long, long time. Thanks.
I'm glad Jay has this wonderful Ferreri, I'll never have one, even if I did get the money together, I could not afford to run it or maintain it. He can live the dream for me, he shares the experience that well.
Brilliant! AHH, the beautiful roads of "Hertfordshire" 😂 Great video James! Love the emotion in your story, the artistic elements in the edit and the humour! Pride, nostalgia, inspiration, laughter all in one video?! Nice job!
Happy Anniversary James! 10 years ago today the world fell in love with the F12 on Top Gear. I picked mine up in no small part due to you and this video in particular. Thank you for all you do.
Best thing about this channel is that you reasonably well know what different cars are made for, and judge them as such. It infuriates me when reviewers dont, and sadly, most big ones do not, it seems. Saying this is a *super Gt* is exactly right. Not kind of right. Not sort of right. But exactly right. Respect.
One of those genuinely heartwarming and inspirational success stories. I wouldn't worry about sounding preachy, good sir - you've absolutely deserved every good thing coming your way. I'd also like to thank you for producing this sort of content. The passion is tangible with every video, and a hundred times here. May you continue to enjoy what you love doing, and may you enjoy your F12 for a long time to come.
Fantastic video Jay, I too remember the emotive feeling from watching Clarkson do his peice about this car, you captured the complete essence of that and did your own perfect tribute to all aspects of what is essencial in creating such a video, the car, location, framing etc. I would rate this as your best video to date. and that car ( biting fist OMG) WOW.
Epic man. They say the best days of having a Ferrari are the day you buy it and the day you sell it…except for that epic road trip in the meantime. Utterly sensational. Killer car. Fab review
Thanks Jay for sharing your back story with us. It's great to see your success and the pleasure you get in sharing your love of cars with the rest of us..200,000 car lovers. Like you, I get a lot of pleasure out of sharing my car with others and whenever a young person admires my 575M, I invite them to sit behind the wheel. So please keep sharing more of the 550, Scuderia and F12 journeys with us.
No envy what so ever James. Everybody deserves to realise their dreams, especially when overcoming challenging times like you have. I truly enjoy watching your videos, your honesty about the good and the bad of the cars you review and your enthusiasm sharing that with us. A big thank you to you! 👍🏻 Being a bit of a petrol head myself as well I found myself some years ago in the position to buy my dream car, a BMW Z4, the e89 version and absolutely love it every time I take it for a drive (which is fortunately almost every day), especially with the top down. That feeling with the wind in my hair, the sun in my face and the rumble from the exhaust flushes away everything I might have been bothering about 😊.
I never realised how much you sacrificed to start your UA-cam career, James, and I'm really pleased for you that it's been so successful. One of the reasons I subscribe to your channel is that it's all about the cars and not you, which is why I never watch some more established car channels which are the exact opposite, and to my mind, stomach-churning; so, I respect your success and your ability to be able to afford cars like the F12 and showcase them in full detail.
Listened to your words......to and from the heart. At 73, raced for 25 years and owned 130+ cars, I have a 2005 XK8 conv and a BMW 328 X drive/6sp and finally have the right pairing. The Jaguar is stunning in all ways and I love my GROWLYR...what a dream come true
Your channel is criminally underrated… You should have 5 X the number of subscribers you do. I pray with content like this , your channel absolutely blows up ! Inspiring stuff
The perfect video to start my Saturday morning. Thank you James for your background story. It's amazing what dreams are made of and how cars make us feel.....and sharing them with others is very meaningful.
I remember when I was in middle school there was an orange Aventador, which had just come out, and a green Gallardo parked next to each other in the school parking lot. A bunch of my classmates were talking about it in first period and to this day I still have not forgotten that. I would one day want to be that guy that inspires the next generations to dream big just like you do.
James, that video is everything any real petrolhead could ever want. Realising a dream and sharing that dream with everyone. Absolute fantastic choice of music and great homage to T/G. Brilliant video mate.
I love the way you keep this stuff secret. So much better than all the other UA-camr's who say they are going to get something and then build up the expectations. Best looking area of "Hertfordshire" I've ever seen.
James, perhaps the most fulfilling car video I've seen; epic story, outstanding style and filming, and legendary car+location of course. Laughed a lot! Absolutely mega, thank you for this, top man!

Very well said!! (specially the part about Clarkson humbleness...)
I thought the two most important attributes were to be stunning and brave?
Clarkson is who he is and I hope he never changes, especially for snowflakes like you.
Congrats, James. You've earned every bit of success you've achieved. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us along the way.
J, I love you man, you brought a lot of life back in my veins with this masterpiece of a video. Thank you.
Thanks!
The F12 is my favorite modern front engine Ferrari. Absolutely gorgeous. And thanks for a wonderful story. It's very encouraging.
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely love your honest appraisals and the variety of cars that you feature. Keep up the excellent content, it’s so enjoyable to watch.
Watching you enjoy the car brings cheer to people! Thanks for sharing
Exactly that
That's the best bit about cars, sharing them
A spectacular production, ranging from wonderful wide angle shots to close-ups and detail, capturing the very essence of the F12 driving experience on the open road.
Thankyou for playing a part in the journey :)
It will get better, I promise...
Delighted for you… keep doing what you’re doing… authenticity always shines through 🥰🙏
James I can't think of a UA-camr who deserves it more. You put in so much work. Your stato like knowledge is second to none. Having been lucky enough to do a video with you I know you are one of the few genuine people in this crazy world...what a car. And what an achievement.
This and the 458 really are the best of modern Ferraris money can buy. Congrats my man!
I felt the same way about that Top Gear film and what a tribute you've made
This is definitely your greatest work and it was a pleasure to watch
Authentic content, interesting cars, your own style, trusted views…..why I watch. Congrats on living the dream!
Thank you, thank you, thank you 🤗
A million views would be a nice ending!
Great video and art really. Video and car. And message.
First car I like the sound with more than the V6 F type.....thank you back.
Congrats Jay, love the F12. Years ago I got a shot in a Blue F12, the sound upon start up still sticks with me
That was utterly splendid. Thanks.
Very kind words, thankyou!
I'm glad Jay has this wonderful Ferreri, I'll never have one, even if I did get the money together, I could not afford to run it or maintain it. He can live the dream for me, he shares the experience that well.
AS long as I'm able to live the dream I'll keep sharing it!
@@JayEmmOnCars Thanks Jay, you have shared loads of great ideas for cars that are affordable which I, appreciate.
One of your best, Jay. Thanks for sharing some of your backstory. Your F12 sounds outrageously awesome. Enjoy the hell out of it!
Hey Jay, I‘m following you for a while now, I‘m so happy for you fulfilling your dream!
Keep on going producing wonderful content!
Thank you! Will do!
A friend sent me this link and told me I’d enjoy your story of getting into UA-cam. He was right! Awesome story…awesome channel! Congratulations!!!
Brilliant! AHH, the beautiful roads of "Hertfordshire" 😂
Great video James! Love the emotion in your story, the artistic elements in the edit and the humour! Pride, nostalgia, inspiration, laughter all in one video?! Nice job!
It's like an emotional buffet
@@JayEmmOnCars like an all you can eat emotional buffet lol 😂
Happy Anniversary James! 10 years ago today the world fell in love with the F12 on Top Gear. I picked mine up in no small part due to you and this video in particular. Thank you for all you do.
Congrats buddy! Well deserved
That means a lot, thankyou
Brilliant, huge congratulations!
Killer car. Fab review
Ferrari’s best car ever;congratulations, we are glad you never stopped, from the USA🇺🇸
One of the best videos yet. Keep up the great work.
It’s the back story to this video that moved me from an occasional viewer to a subscriber. Good on you, Jay.
Thanks Dale- welcome aboard
It seems like only months ago when you unveiled your 550! Since then there’s been the Scud and now an F12 Too! Well done!
Thankyou!
No envy what so ever James. Everybody deserves to realise their dreams, especially when overcoming challenging times like you have. I truly enjoy watching your videos, your honesty about the good and the bad of the cars you review and your enthusiasm sharing that with us. A big thank you to you! 👍🏻
Being a bit of a petrol head myself as well I found myself some years ago in the position to buy my dream car, a BMW Z4, the e89 version and absolutely love it every time I take it for a drive (which is fortunately almost every day), especially with the top down.
Thankyou very much, I appreciate it!
A champagne episode mate. Congratulations on your achievements.
Absolute legend Jay. Thank you for every minute so far. Well done.
I enjoyed the video. Thank you for the BG, your heartfelt enthusiasm for the car and your experience of owning, filming and sharing the car. Bravo!
Your channel is criminally underrated… You should have 5 X the number of subscribers you do. I pray with content like this , your channel absolutely blows up ! Inspiring stuff
We can all but hope
The perfect video to start my Saturday morning. Thank you James for your background story. It's amazing what dreams are made of and how cars make us feel.....and sharing them with others is very meaningful.
I remember when I was in middle school there was an orange Aventador, which had just come out, and a green Gallardo parked next to each other in the school parking lot. A bunch of my classmates were talking about it in first period and to this day I still have not forgotten that. I would one day want to be that guy that inspires the next generations to dream big just like you do.
Yess!!!!
6:22 - what a hammer drop. Absolutely fantastic
James, that video is everything any real petrolhead could ever want.
Realising a dream and sharing that dream with everyone.
Absolute fantastic choice of music and great homage to T/G.
Brilliant video mate.
Thanks for the inspiration Jay
Thanks for sharing that James, I'm glad you persevered. I'm enjoying your channel very much it's easy to listen to.
Thanks for the kind words
I love the way you keep this stuff secret. So much better than all the other UA-camr's who say they are going to get something and then build up the expectations. Best looking area of "Hertfordshire" I've ever seen.
James, perhaps the most fulfilling car video I've seen; epic story, outstanding style and filming, and legendary car+location of course. Laughed a lot! Absolutely mega, thank you for this, top man!
