Welcome in Poland, you have chosen one of the most beautiful cities in my country :) Have a great stay, sightseeing, take care of your health because it's going to snow a lot for now ;)
We have actually been to Krakow. Rob 3 times and Charlie once. Poland is my favourite place in the world!
Looks beautiful. Very jealous. ❤ wish we had lovely markets like that. Good to see you enjoying yourself.
Thanks Charlie from Brisbane, Australia. Video was lovely. I've never touched snow in real life.
Cuuute beanie! A snowy European Christmas is definitely on my bucket list.
Thanks❤ you are a couple with great chemistry, please keep posting
That's incredibly kind of you! Thank you!
I love the character of all the buildings, absolutely beautiful…..definitely postcard Christmas market …..thanks for taking us there
Yep,kocham Polskę
Great little tour 👍Thanks Charlie 💜
Great video Charlie...your a natural now in front of the camera...just don't tell Rob 😉...looking forward to your next one...happy shopping...🤗
What a wonderful little vlog - I thoroughly enjoyed - and the Christmas Market in Gdansk is absolutely delightful (also that food looked amazing). Well done Charlie!
I live here and never had much time to admire Gdansk. Thank you for showing me the beauty of my own city!
Our pleasure. Its a beautiful place!
Wow Charlie, Gdansk looks really interesting - and tasty! Lol Sydney (Aust) to Gdansk is 20hrs flying time with two stopovers on top (15712km) - so much easier from England!!
Definitely much easier for us!
Congratulations Charlie. Life changing when you get comfortable with solo travel.
Definitely got the bug now and want to do more! I love travelling together but I'm surprised how much I enjoyed being alone. Hope you are well!
Two hours to fly to Europe?! It takes us Aussies that long just to get through Customs! 😫
It's amazing being so close to places that are a world away from where we live in culture and scenery
🙂
Exactly!😢
I mean they left from Europe and flew to Europe.
Just wow!, how stunning in the dark 😲🥰. Well done on doing this solo. As much as it's nice to experience new things with loved ones, I also think one is free to do things when one wants, go where one wants etc, without worrying about what the others want to do . Can't wait for the next episode 🤗🥂
I love this place. At Halloween it’s very nice too. They put so much effort into tradition
Charles, I love it. As an Australian I can count on on hand time’s I’ve stood in a snow fall. All in Europe. But I love a Xmas market. Keep warm and make a few snow Angels for me.
No snow angels! But it was lovely to see lots of snow!
The food looked yummy
Great video Charlie! All that food looks very yummy! How magical is that snow with the Christmas village. So wonderful ❤
It really is!
Charlie, you knocked this video out of the ballpark. I loved it... so Christmassy, as I struggle with the 34oC heat in Brisbane 😂
Hope you're ready for part 2 Saturday! 😁 Thank you
Beautiful Poland
Good job Charlie 👍. The more you push yourself to do things you never thought you could, the more you realise what you could miss out on by not doing new things.
Wow look at that snow. amazing!
Loved this Charlie... absolutely love seeing your confidence growing since your last kinda solo one (with mum). This was everything I imagined a European Christmas would be like... so beautiful. Waiting eagerly for part 2. Enjoy your weekend guys x
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a lovely weekend!
You did well Charlie 👍😊
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas this year! Thanks Charlie! 🥰👍😂
Try some potato pancakes with gulash. And hot beer to warm up.
It wasn't the pate on the sandwich. It was country lard with onions and greaves.😂 The building you liked was the Old Arsenal. Today it's the seat of the Academy of Fine Arts. The most beautiful Polish Christmas Market is in Wroclaw. Check on YT.😉
Charlie later realised it was lard 🤣
@@CharlieandRob I watch movies skipping some content. Sorry. 😕I didn't notice it. It's my mistake😂
It's Bazylika Mariacka - St.Mary Basilica or Church. According to Wikipedia one of 4 largest brick churches in Europe and World (bigger is only 1 in Bologna and 2 the same size in Munich and Ulm). There is also sightseeing tower (smaller) in Gdańsk Town Hall (old Town Hall changed in city museum) at Long Street - Ulica Długa/Długi Targ. If you want to see how Gdańsk looked like in 1959 watch old movie: Do widzenia do jutra.
Definitely need to visit these when we go back!
I really enjoyed the video Charlie; it was nice to see a bit of Poland. At the top of my bucket list is to experience a white Christmas..hopefully very soon. My sister in law is Greek & she is an amazing cook 😊
Go for it! Snow makes everything ten times more christmassy!
sry im a bit late lol . been dying to see how your solo trip goes , hope robs not too lonely lol . good on you charlie . you have the time of your life mate . looks absolutely beautiful there .
It was lovely and I don't think Rob missed me at all 🤣
@@CharlieandRob im sure he did charlie , glad you had a great time . 🙂
Great vid Charlie, you did well with this. Have a ball, while the cats away, the mice will play.......
Really enjoyed this, loved seeing a glimpse of Poland and Christmas markets. And as others have mentioned it's great seeing your confidence grow. Solo travel can be enjoyable and it's definitely helps grow confidence and trust in yourself.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was definitely a real push for me and I'm so happy I did it!
Solo travel is where you find yourself Charles. You have to engage with people. And make friends. I did it for 20 years and I’m so glad I did. And some friends I’ve lost, some are Facebook friends but a few friends are still friends I will call to talk to. Even if the language barrier is a challenge. Looking forward to day two.
Great vlog Charlie.
that is nice ~ Charllie!
Great vlog Charlie, loved the look of the different types of food you tried, nice that you had some chrismassy snow to go with your Christmas market ❤
Enjoyed your Vlog to Poland Charlie, gave me that Christmas feeling 🎄
1:37 I love this Christmas Tree♡Thank you for sharing!
Eating dinner for one when you have a smart phone is a lot better than it used to be pre mobile phones.
You did so well Charlie - a great vlog
I have travelled on my own in 2011 flew from Melbourne to Hong Kong for quick stop over then from Hong Kong to Heathrow. I then met up for my tour at the Contiki Lounge to sign to my tour. Had a fun day exploring a bit of London. Next day met up with the tour bus to bus it to Germany. The next 5 days I camped and did Oktoberfest. Best thing I had ever done. I have also solo trip to Sydney and New Zealand. Travel is the best thing to get out of you comfort zone.
I'm not sure I'm quite ready for solo around the world yet 😂
What a brilliant vlog!Love your channel!
Wow look at that snow 😊. I remember I first saw snow was in Stirling I saw it out the window and almost cried .
Well done Charlie on your first solo travel and great filming 😊
This was great, Charlie!! You should definitely do more of this!! Looking forward to the second instalment!! 😀
Wonderful! Enjoyed this! (Who is that guy you do videos with sometimes? Good to see he isn't cramping your style on this finally! lol)
😂 Rude much?
😂😂😂
Well done Charlie 👍
Such a pretty place with the Christmas decorations and snow adding to the charm.
As for eating alone, at home it's fine but eating out is like when you see a lone duck in the park.
well done to you Charlie, having the courage and confidence to do this on your own..i have been looking at a lot of travel videos and most people are doing things together, i am going to come on my own and admire and am learning from you so keep up the vids hunny!!
Thank you! Can't be long now until your trip - I bet you are getting excited! Enjoy ☺️
@@CharlieandRob yes got my ticket for the concert now 23/7 so be early July be over in Suffolk and catch up with you then xxx
Excellent presentation, Charlie. Looking forward to more of your solo productions, although I like both of you. I hope you've been having the best time, I would so love to visit Poland. It's a definite plan
It's honestly so beautiful, definitely worth a visit!
Thank you from Vancouver, British Columbia, for this lovely video.🎄🎄 We went to Poland so many times, and we had always a good time. Try polish vodka.🎇🎇 Merry Christmas. We gave you a SUB !!!!!!
Thanks for watching and Subbing! Means a lot. I assume you being in Vancouver, you are used to the snow! Rob would happily drink Polish vodka.
Well done Charlie… you did a great job. I’ve lived in southern Germany for a few years and loved the Christmas markets. In Aus we don’t do anything to that level.
I have been to Cologne and the Christmas market there was beautiful!
@@CharlieandRob Yes… also Munich and Stuttgart are fantastic.
Jelous!
Good onya Girl 🎉
i was watching you taste some food recently and was wondering if i see you more.. and then i learned you guys have a second chanel :) love to see that :)
Yep? This is our vlog channel where we actually go places!
Great vlog Charlie. Did you get back to see the christmas tree all lit up?
I did see it late that night and it was beautiful!
♥♥♥
Awesome! Waiting for you in Ukraine next time 🙂
When the war stops and Little Penis Putin pisses off, we will come to Ukraine!!
I know you were a little nervous heading off on your own but what a trip!
Sounds a little condescending, but please don’t take it that way, good for you!
I didn’t travel solo until I was 30 so I get it.
Mind you, I went from Canberra to Hobart which is probably the same distance but not in any way culturally different.
Loved seeing you enjoying yourself.
Happy trails lovely girl.
Happy Christmas xx
You start small (I started Sydney to Melbourne), now I have gone around the world 3 times alone.
Advice for women who are not familiar with the Polish climate, especially when the temperatures are below zero. Do not use moisturizing creams, only fatty ones that protect the skin. Fat creams protect the skin in frost and provide a barrier.
Maybe you could do some Charlie reacts videos
😂 not sure about that!
Hey Charlie, Great vlog! I'm so glad you go out to Gdansk and had a look around. It reminded me of a time a spent in Switzerland and Germany in 2013. You are so lucky to live so close to Europe, where you can 'pop' over and get to those countries so much easier than I can. I really hope You (and Rob) can get to do this more often, vlogging on the way to show me around a little. I'm assuming it's full on winter there now? Or is it cold all year round? The wet spell has finally broken here in Sydney and we are currently on our 16th straight day of sunshine (I think that's correct), whoo hoo! So good to have escaped La Niña. Where will you go to next travel jaunt? What is next on your bucket list and will Rob go too? Cheers and stay safe.
It does get hot in the summer, I think they have similar weather to us in England - but possibly slightly milder. I want to go to Disneyland next - but Rob is not keen... Want to get planning for the new year! Hope you are well!
@@CharlieandRob I'm well thanks for asking. LOL you'll need to keep working on Rob to go to Disney. I wish you well in your planning and tripping (mind the chemicals however!).
Do you know that this Cathedra which you could see from your hotel room (Bazylika Mariacka Wniebowzięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny w Gdańsku) is currently one of the three largest brick churches in the world? Thanks for visiting and showing my city and country :)
Oh that's incredible! Thanks for the info ☺️
That spread on the bread was lard I believe.
Never experienced snow, looks cold.
We rarely get snow in the UK. It's cold but surprisingly the snow is such a distraction you don't notice as much!
temperature in gdansk is -1 in comparison to melbourne weather 22.8°
😂 I'm fed up of the cold! I need sun 😎
@@CharlieandRob where you are it be like living at mount hotham in victoria yep in the snowys 😀
Charlie you did a great video and what great stalls and the food what are you doing in Poland any reason?
I just went for the weekend to see the Christmas Market. We've been to Krakow previously and loved it - so I thought I'd check out another part of Poland
@@CharlieandRob what a great idea to see how other countries celebrate Christmas
Im polish brooooooooo
7:10 Assumption of the Virgin Mary Basilica dates back to XIII-XIV cent.
thank you:) glad you had a fun visit:)
Oooh Charlie, i wish I was with you. My Grandmother comes from Gdansk so its definately on my bucket list. love from Sydney
Make sure you visit - it's beautiful!
The spread on your bread is pig fat 😂😂
Awesome place, what did you do to your hand btw?
I fell over a garden ornament and cut my hand quite deep on my palm 😂
@@CharlieandRob Silly Billy lol
@@CharlieandRob Also, love your new rocket ship of a car, you probs already know but the cold is a batteries enemy number one.
@@caltravels9454 yep! Getting about 160 miles on 80% charge.
I’m loving the Charlie channel. Now how do we get rid of that annoying co host of yours. Hehe
Snow …… at Christmas? Having an outdoor bbq and going down the beach will be cold. Us aussies wouldn’t know what to do.
Hope you enjoyed your shopping weekend.
How is that co host annoying? Seems okay to me
😂😂😂. I quite like the co host so I'm afraid you are stuck with him!
Hi, what hotel did you stay in please?
Stay Inn Hotel Gdańsk :)
Wielki D a n z i g. Miasto o bogatej historii. Dan zi g, mimo dziesięcioleci polskiej okupacji, zachował niemiecką duszę i niemieckiego ducha... ❤❤❤
Polish occupation? Danzig/Gdansk was a rich Hanseatic League habour. As such, it was the a place of peaceful coexistance of many cultures and languages, mainly German and Polish. This is what makes the city a special one. Majority of Polish trade transported on the main Polish river, Vistula/Wisla was going through.
What is on the agenda for Oxfordshire in 2024?
I am living in Tricity currently (moved from Cracow)! you seems to be so nice! I would liek to show you some places and other cities with interesting parts by the sea with a car. Me and my partner will be glad to show you (with car) more places - so if needed contact me :-)
Cheers buddy. We do love Poland for sure and we would certainly like to explore more parts of the wonderful country

You idiot, read the history from the year 1000 and check how many years Gdańsk was in Poland's possession. You can dream about German Gdańsk.
Nice vlog! I’ve also visited Gdańsk recently and got some nice drone footage of this area posted on my channel you can check out :) I didn’t get lucky with snow though ;)
Amazing, I love using my drone for the vlogs however, Charlie didnt have space in her back pack for it. But we will probs come to Krakowin January and thats a great idea to use the drone!
Sincerely lord grant me a Polish visa this Year from Nairobi at the polish Embassy
Stop shaking the camera
It was first time with new camera which is a lot heavier than the previous. But thanks for your feedback 🤦♂️
