The Yerf Dog Spiderbox Go Kart Part 31: How to wire a cheap regulator, and enricher circuit

The original wiring harness was melted and destroyed, so I had to make up my own wiring for this kart. In this video I explain the operation, and wiring of the carburetor enricher circuit, and the regulator circuit. We installed a cheap Chinese regulator that came with no instructions.

Not a bad idea to keep a spare regulator on hand. Our daughter has a similar Kart with a GY6 and over the past 4-5 years I have had to replace a couple. The main symptom is that when she is slowly coming to a stop it will just quit. It will start right back up and run fine if you keep moving but if you start to creep it will quit. Once you throw another $8.00 special on it away she goes for another summer :)

That makes sense. I bet that once the regulator quits, the enricher device on the carburetor no longer gets power and cools down, opening up the port that creates a rich mixture for cold starts, but will stall a hot engine.

What do you have on the gas tank so the gas can go down I only have the same tank you have but the gas won’t come down?

Steve you the Man I have one Go-kart exacted the one you work on was run fine but starter switch stuck every now and then I have to turn back otherwise keep starting even when engine running
now get to the point it keeps starting all time I disconnected both wire to Starter switch, but nothing happened Starter still running??? I have to disconnected Battery terminal otherwise starter keep running I know you the Man I hope you can help me out. It has new Solenoid and was run awesome Kid love it but now Down.
