    Im still at the stock 150cc but get yourself some 22×11.0-8 mud lites for the back tires. I was able to take her mudding no problem. Invest in some new drive belts tho. Dont cost alot but I was suprised at the capability after the mud lite tire upgrade.

    If you would clock your driven clutch tighter to the provided whole happier with your setup. If you increase your RPM engagement on The drive clutch you also need to do it to the driven. Made a night and day difference with my rig!

      Thanks for the feedback. So now the green spring in the driven clutch is set the to middle hole. You're saying I should wind it tighter by starting the spring in the outer hole?

    Cool build, but I've got a question. I recently built a kart that is very similar to your Yerf-Dog (custom frame but same basic layout, 440cc instead of 420cc, engine mounted to swingarm just like yours). Do you ever notice gas dripping from the carb insulator (black plastic peice) behind the carb? I have been told that there's a vent there. Just want to confirm if it's normal since the engine travels with the suspension.

    That thing came out awesome! If you were to do it again without a budget would you go with a 670 or are you satisfied with the 420? I have one that were building on my channel and the stock 150 doesn't cut it on our wooded property. It's good on flats but that's about it

      Thanks so much! 670 would require so much more modification to the swingarm. I'm not sure if the 420 chain would be sufficient. I did so much research on youtube during my build regarding the gearing and which sprockets gear ratios. The one I read most was that was best for go-kart application was the 10 tooth drive and 60 tooth axle sprocket. Red Beard has a 670 build that thing is a BEAST!... well until it burned to the ground lol. Also 670 a lot louder. even now I want to build an enclosure for the 420. I was riding with earplugs only because the motor so close to driver. It would be really fun to mod the Spiderbox with a 670. For my kids and me the 420 is plenty. I could even go to the next stage kit up for the 420cc and squeeze out some more HP if I wanted to. I'm happy the way it is. I've got a few more mods in mind. dual brake calipers in the back. More stopping power would be better. there are hole locations on the opposite end of the swingarm. I would just need to drill new holes and find some long bushings to feed thru then weld. BDX sells the front brake set up. however it's for 4x110 lug nuts. my lug nuts are 4x4 pattern. I'm sure there are adapters I could throw in. I think the quickest way is just do dual setup in back.

    Did you get a new top speed reading on that flat land you were on with the new upgrades to the torque converter? I saw your other build videos, is there anyway you could send me a close up pic of your shock relocation brackets? I purchased the same bdx performance front kit but my relocation brackets are different and don’t seem to work right, I’ve reached out to bdx a few times I even tried purchasing them again and there not much help.

    • @justinsauer5682
      @justinsauer5682  3 роки тому +1

      No new top speed check. I'd be throwing too much dirt lol. I also noticed that I had my throttle stop screw was engaged a little the last time out. that was my first time out after removing the governor, valves springs, and stage 1 kit. I wanted to watch my RPM . This time, I backed out the throttle stop screw so I could hit wide open throttle. The highest RPM I saw was about 4200. I was told at 5k the stock flywheel could go boom!. I need to get on open paved road. there is a 2 lane highway right next to Desert Wells rec site. Just got to watch out for the po-po. OMG!!!! BDX Performance, how that place stays in business is beyond me. I encountered so many problems with them during my build. You're talking about the front shock lower brackets right. I'll put together a short little video, detailing the lower shock mounts.

    Hey man. I could use your help, I bought my twin boys this exact setup ( spider box / 420cc predator) it just doesn't pull as hard as yours. It's flat out gutless, like zero torque
    . What clutch are you using and teeth on axle , ext.
    There is no way mine would go through that muddy river like yours.
    It drives fine , bit can't really go up hills . The engine is checked out , carb is good etc.
    Any help would be great . Thanks

    • @justinsauer5682
      @justinsauer5682  3 роки тому

      Hi, the clutch I'm using is a 40 series upgraded to medium rollers medium springs. It engages at higher rpm. My gearing set up is 10 tooth driving an 60 tooth axle sprocket. 420cc Governor removed and rejet, upgrading to heavy duty valve springs. Check out all my other videos on my build. It may answer any other questions you may have. Even with stock 420cc, 10 tooth driving the 60 tooth you should still get a good pull.
