  • Today I show how to make simple emissive textures in Blender to use in MSFS 2020. There are other ways to create them, but I show you a couple of simple ways without having to "Bake" your textures in Blender.
    Hope this helps!
    Peace and Joy

Thank you for making a shorter video. I love your long ones, but with a full time job, 3 kids and a nagging wife, its not easy to spend 45 mins on a video without frequent breaks. These smaller ones are great and as always, amazingly helpful!

Hello. This is a very interesting topic. Indeed, there are a lot of tutorials on the Internet on creating textures, but how to make it so that it could keep all its glow properties is very small. Thank you for these lessons. You make a great contribution to the development of modeling! This is very good and important!

    Howdy, thanks for the tutorials!
I have been trying to make a simple cube invisible by using the MSFS -parameters -invisible, but it's not changing the mesh at all. Edit: After a few more hours of tinkering I discovered my issue was viewing in solid mode instead of material view mode. I had to take a long 2 yr break from blender and unfortunately it's been a challenge to get back up to speed in just a week. 🙂

I created an object for MSFS using procedural textures in blender and went through the process of baking those textures. It's a pain to do it manually in blender and there are some limitations on what maps can be produced with this manual process. So I researched baking plugins and there are a few, but I ended up trying SimpleBake. It made the baking process so much easier and I'm glad I tried it. If you do a video on baking, you might want to check it out.

I absolutely will....baking can be a pain in the butt sometimes! Thank you.

Aside from making baking much easier, it will also allow you to combine ambient occlusion, roughness, and metallic into a single image on the correct color channels under "Channel Packing". Very nice.

Great tutorial. I've been wanting to figure out emissive textures rather than simple materials on things like lit windows. This was simple and easy to understand. One question: If you set the emissive texture, white as the emissive color in the MSFS properties section in Blender, the emissive strength above in the "generic" blender materials section still controls the strength?

Thank you. Hmm, if I am not mistaken, I believe the MSFS Param setting overrides the "generic" setting....I will need to verify.

I'm very new to your channel and have just skimmed through some of your content. It looks great and I can't wait to get more in depth with it.
This may be simple, but do you have any tutorials about making 3D signs, like you might find at an airport entrance, with photo or hand-drawn textures and also making posters that you can attach to pre-existing default building/fence models?
Similarly, is it possible to texturize or even just colorize roofs or walls of pre-existing default hangars and other buildings?
    Thanks for your great work!

Good afternoon. I have a problem using Blender 3.1 and i need some help. I'm trying to apply subdivision surface modifier to a object, and Blender don't respond, get freezed, is necessary restart the program and, in some cases, restart the computer. How can i resolve this problem?. Thank you so much in advance.

Make sure you are not in edit mode when you apply the modifier. Other than that it should work. You can try restarting Blender.
