That was the west switch at Pine-Aire. That's were it was towwed after a traction motor problem during the "Last Run". It was there for probably a good month or so before being taken to Gershow Recycling, it's final resting place.
201 is sitting in gershow out east. Her trucks are now on NYAR's gp38 270. As of now 201 is sitting on her fuel tank with no horn no bell and no trucks. The number plates are gone as well i believe.
she lays in the apshault yardin medford off the siding stripped she is seen from google earth if u go past medford station look at the sidings u will see the blue gp10 sitting off its tracks. was removed off the siding and stripped..it has not ben scrapped yet i think and still has its 567c engine intact.
Ok, It's not really hard to believe.. After all, They are work engines that were never meant for passenger. An mp15 was never designed to hurtle down the rails at 65 mph providing hep for a train but here on the lirr they made it happen.. MP15s are yard/local freight engines..
Yeah i get it. MP15s can still be seen doing 65 on the island.. If they are hooked up to a Passenger coach or train they are allowed to make 65 mph. But in freight service it's 45 max.
@EMDFAN1988 Ok, sorry if i sounded pushy about the facts. I just wanted to let people who may not be aware of the ownership, though i doubt many would believe the LIRR still owns the GP38's and MP-15's since they stopped using them in passenger service. I mean i didn't believe it when i first learned about it LOL.
@EMDFAN1988 I never knew the MP15 wasn't made for Passenger service, Though i was never aware that the LIRR did freight service until they signed the contract with NYA. The LIRR made alot of things work, i mean they still had used old/obsolete coaches (I'm not saying that I thought the LIRR's old coaches were obsolete, just that some people may have called them that) at a time when i bet most other Railroads were getting new and update coaches
Also the reason she was retired was because she was a piece of shit. A maintenance nightmare for nyar. On their way back to pineaire from Prima 201's Trucks and axles completely froze. Engineer Tom Had One hell of a fight dragging her with 271 and 268. Prior to her retirement she was dead for a while in their queens yard. Then she was repaired Only for this to happen. NYAR had enough and sold her. As JT Reign Said She still exists there. The prime mover is indeed a 567C and remains inside.
yes she is in medford,ny off a siding in an aspault yard stripped. but engine intact!
@EMDFAN1988 NYA leases 270 from the LIRR, so 201 Trucks are now on LIRR's GP38 270.

great video! I miss the GP10s!
So do I. with a decoder in it.
that model looks complicated but you specialized the NYA logo I would buy the low nose GP9 and get the hi-hood kit but can't find the Hi hood kit.
Does anybody know what happen to the gp-10 after it had it's last run?
Left to rot in a junkyard and then scrapped.
where is that engine now?
