Eagerness in the Preparation (12.1.24)

Our Christmas 2024 Series, “The Attitude for Christmas,” begins with “Eagerness in the Preparation.” 700 years before Jesus was born, the prophet Micah was inspired to write about Jesus’ coming to earth as Imanuel. Just as the prophets prepared for, and waited for Jesus’ arrival, we too, receive and grow in Jesus now as we prepare to meet Him and be in His presence. Fruit will sprout and flourish from the fertile soil of our preparations. As we repent of the sins that entangle us, our perspective changes and we see the ugly, damaging effects of our sin. The fruit will show in how we live, how we seek help, the prayers we offer, and by the choices we make. Christmas was a rescue mission. And the One who came to our rescue was Emmanuel-God with us. The Ancient One humbled Himself to become fully man because we were the hostages being held captive by sin. So, this Advent I am not expecting and preparing to be stressed out and overwhelmed. Rather, I am waiting expectantly for God to come through for you and for me. Zephaniah promises that the Lord our God is in our midst and rejoices over us with gladness and loud singing
