First film I ever saw him was "Gilbert Grape". Back then I was much younger than today and naivly thought he really was disabled. Imagine my surprise when I saw him next in "Titanic". Only then I realized he certainly not was disabled in any way and admired his acting skills in Gilbert Grape 😄
DiCaprio has a way of not letting anything get in the way of conveying the most inner layers of emotion and human experience that his character calls for. He doesn't have the chameleon-power of Daniel Day Lewis or the physical flexibility of Bale and you always sort of see DiCaprio on screen, not the person he is playing. But because he has mastered the complete range of that, it's just always perfection and believable. De Niro has the same, maybe also because of casting choices, but I'll never not see De Niro playing the character, but he does it so convincingly that it's just a masterclass to watch. It was therefore so exciting to see Leo play an actor in Once upon a Time in Hollywood, because now we saw two layers of him and he nailed both of them. I'm rambling right now and I don't have any real acting or technical knowledge to make my comment make any sense, but I'm glad that you are able to put the finger on what makes him so great!
Thank you very much - really appreciate it! This video in particular is a little different than most of the other ones I've done, so I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
@@TakeTwoReviews I have just discovered your channel and I already binged watched most of your videos. 2023 has seen a significant jump in the film industry, so Iam looking looking forward for your analysis.
Blood Diamond, Catch Me If You Can, Departed, Inception, Wolf of Wallstreet, Dont Look Up, once upon a Time in Hollywood, Shutter Island, This Boys Life, Basketball Diaries, Django Unchained, etc all great. And soon Killers of the Flower Moon.
He was Orsen Welles no doubt it's his personality. Orsen was a doppelganger he was his boss but paid someone to play his part and he directed people to be a character he called his old brigade they cheered to rose 🌹 bud that's like a Rosecrusan and a Buddhist 😂 dynamics he spoke of China to someone and she said he spoke of China as if he lived there you can watch the magician documentary it's interesting.
Women usually want high-status men, and men usually want attractive women. DiCaprio's very famous and very wealthy. Lots of young women are willing to throw themselves at him. They're all consenting adults - so it's none of our business, right?
@@rdrrr no there are some people(famous or not ) who prefer this to genuine relationships for various reasons. By the way the fact that all of his girlfriend suddently disappear when they turn 25 is pretty odd, and very young models making "fake-girlfriend contracts" that last a few years to gain visibility is a well known reality.
@@azakiki9649 That makes sense. It's just bargaining. You've got something I want, I've got something you want. Cynical, but it's Hollywood, and what's more fake and cynical than that?
Excellent video mate. The art of performance is such a treat to learn about, especially from a master like Leonardo. I’d love to see you tackle Columbus (2017) or Possesion (1981)!
Hey y'all, thanks for watching! What's your favorite DiCaprio flick?
Wolf of Wall Street, no question
Shutter Island
Revolutionary Road

The man doesn’t miss (except maybe The Beach, we don’t talk about that one 😅)
Vanilla sky, magnolia or it's only the end of the world - xavier dolan
His kissing scene with David Thewlis is even hotter than his scene with Kate Winslet

Thanks Logan, appreciate it! Love Possession, I think I might give it a rewatch tonight :D
My Favorite is Leo in What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
Love all your videos. You have a great eye and perspective in the Arts from what I’ve seen. 👏💪
Thank you!
I've never found him especially compelling in anything. It always feels like he's just 'doing some acting' rather than acting.
