I would like to add that watchmojo did not include small cameo parts. Dicaprio had a 5 second part in Poison Ivy starring teenage Drew Barrymore as a femme fatale seductress. Based on imdb and metacritic scores it would be on the bottom of the list. At best it would seem to barely pass quick and the dead at 23. I have not seen the movie so I am just following the audiences and critics perception. This being said the movie does I think have some level of cult status. Also as stated in the intro Dicaprio has also done some narration for movies and documentaries not included on this list.
Outstanding list and narration from Rebecca. Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the greatest actors of all time, his performances in the Departed, The Wolf of Wallstreet, What's eating Gilbert Grape and The Revenant are nothing short of brilliant.
‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ became one of my 5 favorite movies directed by Martin Scrosese. Mr. DiCaprio earned the Golden Globe award for “Best Actor” in 2014.
departed was also by Martin Scorsese and arguably the better film, the director really brings out the best from the actor, especially in the new killers of the flower moon made by the same guy
Thank you for your infinite love and support you have consistently shown me in such difficult moments. I'm forever grateful. I really appreciate your unconditional love to me and every effort exerted by you to cause a change. Where are you watching from?
Leo’s shocking, performance in what’s eating Gilbert grape was by far his best and he should’ve been given the Oscar at 19. basketball diaries , This boys, life and the Django also top roles …Titanic is in a perfect performance category by itself.❤ I really hope Leo gets nominated for killers of the flower moon even though his performance was disturbing to watch. By the way I loved Leo in Man in the iron mask never understood the hate for that movie.❤
Ernest Burkhart in Killers of The Flower Moon might be one of his top 3 greatest performances ever. So against type and so unlike anything he's ever done, it's one of those performances which will endure and stand the test of time.
The Man In The Iron Mask will forever be one of my favorite Leo movies! I didn't know it was so hated, but I still really enjoy it next to "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" 😊
The beach is one of my most favorite movies of all time. I saw it in the theater three times. I own the DVD. I really feel like it’s one of the most underrated pieces of genius I’ve ever seen. And not specifically due to Leo being in it, but I had no issue with his performance and actually thought this was the first movie that proved that he was A-list material for me
I liked it too. I don't know why people say it's so bad. The scene when they first see the beach is one of the most visually beautiful scenes I've ever seen in any film.
I could not have said it better! 😂 I literally came here to say how wonderful The Beach was and it was the first movie I noticed he was a phenomenal actor. I own it on VHS 🤣 After watching this list, he was great right from the start. Now, he might just be right behind Jack Nicholson. 😊
The movie was badly edited by an out of his depth Danny Boyle. It was his first big movie and he let Leo down in the editing room. Love Shallow Grave and trainspotting but Danny himself admitted that the failure of the Beach was his fault. He asked Leo to do multiple takes of the same scene, on different levels of emotion. Then in the editing room Boyle pasted it together out of context so that the movie sudenly goes from adventure to horror and Leos performance suddenly goes off the rails. Boyle admitted all this in a book of interviews about his movies.

What sets him apart for me from the rest is that he is passionate about story telling and always a puts the film ahead of his own part. His performances in Django, Wolf of wall street and Killers of the flower moon shows how he takes dark or grey characters not caring how he will be perceived and ends up giving masterful performances. Two other actors who did that are DeNiro and Nicholson, and safe to say he is carrying their legacy forward.

A few thoughts on this video: - 1. If "the Beach" is the second-worst film in a long repertoire, I think many top actors would take that. Perhaps it's not the best film of all time, but also very far from being one of the worst! 2. "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" - at number 12, seriously??! That should have been way further up the list, potentially even top 5. I know this list is about the film rather than Leo's (stellar) personal performance per se, but everyone was great in that film and it was poignant and atmospheric. 3. Some very strange comments on a couple of the characters he's played: e.g. Arthur Rimbaud in Total Eclipse "comes across as unlikeable and unpleasant" (he _was_ unlikeable and unpleasant...and Leo looks as close to him as one can imagine), Jim Carroll in the Basketball Diaries "the protagonist comes across as unlikeable" (like d'uh - Jim Carroll is being brutally honest about himself. Does he _need_ to be likeable for the movie to be good). And in contrast to both Arthur Rimbaud and Jim Carroll being "unlikeable", Leo's role as Mr Candy in Django Unchained was what, exactly? Great performance, yes, but was he likeable or pleasant??
"The Great Gatsby" at #20 is just not high enough imo, I've always thought books are considerably better than movies but he truly encapsulated Jay Gatsby to a T in the movie.
Basketball Diaries deserves to be higher, the fact that the narrator states “the protagonist was unlikable and we’re never truly sure if he redeemed himself” shows a true lack of attention to a brilliant film. The final scene shows Jim working with drug addicts after dealing with his own demons.
Yeah i never saw a bad performance by him ever !!!! Regardless what film , hes honestly the only actor i can honestly say that about!!!!! It's difficult to judge who might be the greatest actor of all time (and it may not be Leo), but if one sets the criteria as "the best male A-list actor of his decade age range" (aka "generation"), Leo has a very good claim to that position. He's often outstanding in his performances.
My list 1. The departed 2. Catch me if you can 3. Inception 4. Wolf of wall street 5. Django unchained 6. Blood diamond 7. Titanic 8. Shutter Island 9. What's eating Gilbert grape 10. Once upon a time in Hollywood 11. Gangs of new york 12. The revenant 13. The aviator
I’m still very infatuated with Leo I do love how I adore him I love how he charms me and I love how very cute he is CUTE ENOUGH TO ADORE!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥😍😍💓💓💖💖
If I was an actor and Leo DiCaprio keep on advising actors nowadays to _"turn down Superhero roles"_ I will follow his advice ! This guy full of "Classic and timeless" movies under his name 👍

Wolf of Wall Street is my favorite movie of his and Leo is at his career best. But I love most of his movies and his performance in each one makes it a whole of a hell lot better than it would otherwise
Yesssssssss! I KNEW when I saw the wolf of Wall Street 10 years ago it was one of the best Leo Dicaprio performances of all time, and now here's the validation I've always wanted😁

Nice to see my acting hero get an updated list on here. However, if I could only pick 10 my picks would be: 1. The Aviator 2. The Revenant 3. Django Unchained 4. The Wolf of Wall Street 5. Inception 6. Titanic 7. The Departed 8. Catch Me if You Can 9. Gangs of New York 10. Blood Diamond Also at 22:20 Brad Pitt wasn’t just nominated he won the Oscar for once upon a time in Hollywood
I'm from India 🇮🇳 I'm a huge fan of Leonardo DiCaprio ❤ Leo is very talented and versatile actor. I have watched his 9 movies 1) Titanic (1997) 2) Catch Me If You Can (2002) 3) The Departed (2006) 4) Shutter Island (2010) 5) Inception (2010) 6) The Revenant (2015) 7) Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019) 8) Don't Look Up (2021) 9) Killers Of The Flower Moon (2023)
19:29 “After four previous nominations” Acting noms, that’s correct. Not noms total. He was nominated in the Best Picture category as a Producer for The Wolf of Wall Street. So he technically had five previous nominations before winning. Important to note when a movie gets nominated for Best Picture, all the qualifying producers get a nomination AFAIK. Upon winning the coveted top prize, all the producers win. It’s how Brad Pitt got his first win, being a producer.
Great list, I haven't seen the Wolf of Wall Street. It's on my list. But I don't think that Catch me if you can is better then Killers of the Flower Moon. This man had made so many incredible movies that it is hard to choose. I think my favourites are The Departed, The Aviator, Titanic, Shutter Island, Killers of the Flower Moon, Gilbert Grape, Revolutionary Road, Ok I can go on.....

I watched all of his movies
Great actor
He was fantastic in Killers of the flower moon
There is no worst DiCaprio movie, just some are better than others.
I won’t even lie Man in the Iron Mask is sooooooo watchable and is one of my fav movies of his….stellar cast and great acting with sad story😢 I will cry everytime they take off the mask the first time ❤😊

It's difficult to judge who might be the greatest actor of all time (and it may not be Leo), but if one sets the criteria as "the best male A-list actor of his decade age range" (aka "generation"), Leo has a very good claim to that position. He's often outstanding in his performances.
HOW IS GREAT GATSBY SO FAR BACK ITS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE
Exactly. It was an amazing movie with amazing acting.
@@brodymoore1262 definitely way better than some of the other movies further up on the list 😭
My list
1. The departed
2. Catch me if you can
3. Inception
4. Wolf of wall street
5. Django unchained
6. Blood diamond
7. Titanic
8. Shutter Island
9. What's eating Gilbert grape
10. Once upon a time in Hollywood
11. Gangs of new york
12. The revenant
13. The aviator
30 movies already, wow. I've seen almost every single one too (no need to see Critters 3 I guess...)
Mr. DiCaprio has no CAP-rio. His acting range is undeniable and one to be admired for many more centuries to come.
I’m still very infatuated with Leo I do love how I adore him I love how he charms me and I love how very cute he is CUTE ENOUGH TO ADORE!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥😍😍💓💓💖💖
The beach is underrated af
dude has 20+ great performance. 1 of the GOAT,
This Boy’s Life at 19 is crazy. Gotta be top 10 or 15
I loved The Aviator.

I do agree That The Wolf Of Wall Street was his best.
Hey, I liked The Man In The Iron Mask! Once Upon A Time In Hollywood would probably be my number one.

Nice to see my acting hero get an updated list on here. However, if I could only pick 10 my picks would be:
1. The Aviator
2. The Revenant
3. Django Unchained
4. The Wolf of Wall Street
5. Inception
6. Titanic
7. The Departed
8. Catch Me if You Can
9. Gangs of New York
10. Blood Diamond
Also at 22:20 Brad Pitt wasn’t just nominated he won the Oscar for once upon a time in Hollywood
The Great Gatsby being so low on the list is totally unfair by Watch Mojo. That movie is so complex and emotional
I'm from India 🇮🇳 I'm a huge fan of Leonardo DiCaprio ❤ Leo is very talented and versatile actor. I have watched his 9 movies
1) Titanic (1997)
2) Catch Me If You Can (2002)
3) The Departed (2006)
4) Shutter Island (2010)
5) Inception (2010)
6) The Revenant (2015)
7) Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019)
8) Don't Look Up (2021)
9) Killers Of The Flower Moon (2023)
Leo could make 100 more movies and Titanic will still be my favorite. Justice For Jack!
Inception or Titanic are the best movies Leo has ever been in. What a once in a generation actor. He truly is the goat
How does he not have like 10 Oscar's?
Lol love the intro on the couch, it's perfect
"What's Eating Gilbert Grape" is to DiCaprio what "12 Monkeys" was to Brad Pitt. For me, this movie is easily one of DiCaprio's top 3.
Thank you for your infinite love and support you have consistently shown me in such difficult moments. I'm forever grateful. I really appreciate your unconditional love to me and every effort exerted by you to cause a change. Where are you watching from?

The beach is a great movie. Underrated! Directed by the great danny boyle!
I just LOVE Romeo+Juliet. I have used it to convince good amount of people that Shakespeare is awesome.
Leo shows off his amazing range in the movie. From the charming first lover via gloomy thinker to the rage after Mercutios death.
Wolf on wall street and titanic will always be my favorite Leo movies
I liked "the Beach". It was that film that made me realize how brilliant of an actor he was.

The choice of clips here really doesn't showcase how good Leo is, e.g. in The Revenant
this man has been acting forever
I haven’t watched a lot of his movies, but recently this week I watched Killers of the Flower Moon, about the Osage murders was so far a very great movie, and I highly recommend watching it.👍🏼😊

This has to be one of the most difficult and debatable ranks. Is like tens vs tens, great vs great, and low vs low
Best favorite film = Blood Diamond
Best Character= Wolf Of Wall Street
Best acting= Basketball Diaries
Best scene ever acted in a film by a villain = Django (long before anyone talked about it because i knew a good guy actor would murder his first bad guy role just like i knew Denzel would in Training Day before anyone saw it , i honestly get upset when i want to see a film for those reasons & then a year later everyone else talks about it like they knew what i actually expected to see)
Best underrated film = Revolutionary Road
Best badass looking Leo = Gangs Of New York
Best screen rival = Daniel Day Lewis (not De Niro)
Best time Johnny Depp got out acted in a film = Gilbert Grape
Best movie u probably haven't seen= This Boys Life
Best Comedy= Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
(that scene of him throwing the 📻 in the pool after Susan Atkins character flew thru the glass had me dying for days along with his Italian wife running when she saw a knife😂 🔪)
Best Death = The Departed
Best twist = Sudder Island
Best Kiss = Titanic
Best movie to watch to get u respecting Leos amazing acting after he was just a spoiled teenage star = Catch Me If U Can
Best realistic film = The Revanant
Haven't seen Flowers Moon yet so 👍
I love GANGS OF NEW YORK, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON, and INCEPTION.

I love the Beach! I think it's an underrated movie, definitely better than J Edgar or that boring Body of Lies. At least it's entertaining
I would never have placed The Great Gatsby as low as 20th!!!

I completely agree. I haven’t seen any other comments about it why I surprised me. I thought The Great Gatsby was an amazing movie and I thought he played Gatsby perfectly.
