Wild Arms series holds a special place in my heart. I got to play it at such a young age and it still holds up! My favorite is Wild Arms 2. These intros elevate your expectations of a great opening! Maybe one day the franchise will come back.
Last year i had a nostalgia travel and played the 7 games (counting AC F and XF) I can't really determine which game i like the most between WA2, WA3 and WA5. But sure hope the series come back, such awesome games.
Same here man I’ve always said the same thing Wild Arms 2 holds such a dead place in my heart ♥️ … will never forget thinking they had killed Brad off and then he appears on that scene in the desert with that HUGE GUN wow what a scene that was 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Never played others after part 1, I got stuck somewhere and put it to rest. Some day I decided to complete it, I had to consult a walkthrough to figure out where I probably was after years of not playing. Well, it was a good game and the music was fantastic, I appreciate it and because of my story with it, it has its place in my heart. I never played other parts because I completed part one in the last five years or so, the time for PlayStation One was over, but my old device was still doing fine.
That first song intro will always bring tears to my eyes. It was such an amazing game with such a deep story. The first three games will always be the classic and most loved ones. Love you WILD ARMS!
Damn that million memories intro must have made series veterans tear up for sure, seeing all those beloved chars team up and have interactions like that. Can't wait to play through all these games and for the series to properly return one day or get a remake
As of right now, there is a double Kickstarter going on for Armed Fantasia and PennyBlood, and the composer for Armed Fantasia also worked on the Wild Arms OST. Support it guys so more of these awesome music can be made!
The Wild Arms 1 opening will ALWAYS hit in the feels and have me fight back tears. To being an 8 year old when I first played it to now many times older than that, it will always be special to me. Wild Arms 2 and 3 also bring back amazing memories. WA3 without the vocals feels like another song entirely. Took me by completing surprise.
I love how they kept the original tune for the intro of Alter Code F, even though they changed the video for it. It was such a nostalgic hit for me, as I used to play the PS1 version so much as a kid. I only ever played Wild ARMs 2 once, and it was long after its release (it was never released in the UK, and my friend had an NTSC version he lent me, as I have an America PS2)... but looking back, it's got a very good intro to it! It didn't have such great gameplay IMO, and certainly isn't my favourite in the series, but still a great game. I didn't actually realise there was a non-lyrical version of Wild ARMs 3's intro... but the devs really didn't need to go as hard as they did with WA3's intros... giving us *5* different intros that play depending on what part of the game you're saved at! (each denoting different main antagonists, as they're revealed during the game)
I remember when I was a kid about 9 or 10 years old. I went to the old videogame store where I always used to buy. Remember the owner told me and indicating a box... "These are the new videogames I just received this week" and there was Wild Arms 1. I just choose it because of the front cover. The best randomly decision of my life. The opening, the characters and the music. I follow the franchise until Wild Arms 4. I just love this saga.
to be fair, ashley does got more power-ups than other Wild Arms MC. Powerful Arms, Legendary Sword Argetlahm, Guardians, Anastasia's Blessings, on top of Blaze of Disaster's dormant soul? Dude's packin
I remember having to buy the first game at a pawn shop in early high school. Because my mom and brother had already bought the game I went to buy: Chrono Cross. Had so much fun playing it. (I only had enough to buy one game. They also had the second one. Which I got a year or so later.)
The original wild arms cinematic is superior. So epic, I have that downloaded and watch it alot. The code F remake is horrible. I dont understand why gaming companies dont release everything on PC eventually. Im still waiting for my beloved classics, Breath of Fire, Shining the Holy Ark (and Shining Force 3 series), Wizardry: Tales of the Forsaken City, Dragon Quest/Warrior, SECRET OF EVERMORE (come on I so want this game on my PC), etc etc.
I wouldn't say the Alter Code F intro is horrible. Certainly not as good, but I say that through rose-tinted glasses, as I adore the original game. It's still quite a lovely video if you'd never gotten to play the original. As for the rest of your comment, I whole-heartedly agree. So many classics could be re-released... even if they were just simple ports as opposed to remakes... and I'd be very happy. That said, I can see why companies wouldn't want to release them these days, as the gaming landscape has changed a lot since then. Young players won't give 2 spits about "boring old games with crappy graphics", and older players with love and nostalgia for such games don't get to play as much as they used to (unless you're a bum like me and have no social life outside of work lol)... so such games won't sell as well on their own. BUT, with the rise of mini-consoles (like the recent release of the mini Genesis/MegaDrive, and other Raspberry Pi emulation units), along with multi-packs of retro games like some that have been released on Steam, there ARE ways to get the old games out there.
@@BYERE Had to come to the comments after seeing the Code F intro. While not functionally horrible it's just very muddled in presentation and narratively eclectic. As an animation it succeeds, but as a narrative tool it doesn't accomplish as much as the original. I only vaguely remember there being a flower of any significance but its elevated to much importance here, same with the balloon everyone is united by. Why is there so much emphasis on that? Much less story significant than the grave in either cases. The intro in Wild Arms builds familiarity with important setpieces later in the game. (especially the second intro with Jack's backstory.) So when the player actually encounters the elw girl, the golem, the grave you understand their significance. The Alter F intro fails to do this as well because it promotes less significant setpieces (balloon, the flower) and then splits your attention between those and a far larger array of setpieces/characters. The narrative intention between the two works are at odds with each other. Ultimately I think it's the difference between hi-lighting and recapping narrative elements. * * * Original setpieces: The spell Book, Rudy, Jack, Cecilia, Elw Girl, Golem, the graveyard, and the cliff-side Grave. Alter-F setpieces: The Crystal Tear, Jack's Sword, An ARM, a Political map, Rudy, Jack, Cecilia, Elw Girl, Golem, Flower, Balloon, Captain, Jane, Mcdollan, The Doctor, The Metal Bird Zed, Lady Harken, and the silhouettes of 5 more antagonists.
The opening theme to wild arms 1 has always stuck to me to the point that I find myself sometimes whistling the tune. Meanwhile 4's gameplay and the refining the mechanics are what always make willing to play.
Wow I never knew their was another intro for wild Arms 1 I had only played the Japanese original and seen the intro on the left, this is awesome. Awesome intros for an awesome gaming series both wild Arms 1&2 were magnificent I never played the rest but I'm sure was great games to play too!! Also I like evolution of everything show in million memories
Really sad cuz they got the best fighting system (at least for 4 and 5) But they just.. Decided to go with the fantasy ambience too far that the wild west feel is gone.
Ah! for the Million Memories game you used the intro when the Wild Arms 2 event was active, I say this because I saw another one where the protagonists of the 6 games were fighting Janus, a WA3 Villain/rival.
As someone who was curious about Wild Arms, and decided to look at some of the openings, the whiplash is insane lol. The first few look like a Trigun-esque Wild West world, then the last few have like Cyber knight with lasers and swords and shit, wtf? Lol I just started the first game.
I’m not a big JRPG fan; there are a lot of common gameplay tropes that really grate on my nerves. Despite many of them being present in Wild Arms, I’ve long had a soft spot for the series. I think a big part of my affection for it has to do with the music, the Old West aesthetic, and even the anime cutscenes. Unfortunately, my PS2 died while I was playing AC-F for the first time, and I’ve never played 4, 5 ot the later two.
Man, That 5 opening is just BEGGING to have a bunch of fans get together and make a fan animation of it. The 3D models look good and all but it just feels off compared to the rest before.
Wild arms is a special series for anybody who like RPG on 1900-2000. New battle system.. Blue hair MC (except 3 and 4 😅). Excellent story, depth character background, and one of the series that have wonderful song (each of their series have a very wonderful cowboy music arrangement, their really take their arrangement seriously sometime better than the game itself 😁, only can be match by ff series for me. It is a pity they not continuing the series on later platform. I dont like the online game. I wish they make a new series on ps5 or switch or pc. It will be a blast and all we as their loyal supporter will be very hype for it. Still expecting though. Hope sony will do it someday.
wild arms 3 are one of my favorite games....and are the only game I have for the wild arms game series. But I really like the first wild arms and it´s remake called Alter code: F also even if I never got to play those two games myself. But have got to see other people who where more lucky to got to play it.

The gameplay of 4 and xf aren't bad considering the transition to hex and the tactics spinoff (which had kind of insane potential for customization). The story and dialogue of 4 was pretty garbage though. I think it was targeted towards a younger audience is why the approach was so bad
I keep seeing people saying alter code f is bad, why? I enjoyed it, the animation and graphics suits the game and the game immersion was great. I didn't play wild arms 1 tho
@@999LightBeam666 Changed too much of the OG game, removed iconic scenes, added more and not as fun puzzles. Honestly outside of it having older mechanics and a cheap translation the OG game was excellent.
The opening theme to the first Wild Arms takes me back to being a teenager. One of the best opening songs on a video game.
weirdly it brings me to the EXACT same time as you.
Same here! It's one of my favorite video game theme ever.

I'm sure it's the same for every one. This game has the best opening theme
Playing the Wild Arms 3 Intro without the Lyrics?!
That's a crime, the singer is so amazing!
Glad to see someone still remembers Wild Arms. Still no other JRPG's nor American RPG's have ever pulled off a Old Western-Fantasy.
Well, now there's Armed Fantasia!
Hopefully Armed Fantasia can at least be a moderately worthy successor.

Marvelous openings
WA2 had vocals in Japanese and WA3 had 4 or 5 versions, one of them the instrumental. WA4 same song, but changed second half of the anime.
