今から30年以上前に、PCエンジンで初めてイース1&IIをプレイした時は感動した。イースの1をクリアした後にいきなり、かっこいい音楽とアニメシーンに切り替わり、アドルが天空の浮遊島に導かれるシーンは凄かった。
私はゲーム歴４１年ですけど、これに出会って価値観が変わったのは現実です。PCエンジンCDーＲＯｍで出会ったんですが、何回クリアしてもこの感動は私の宝です！
私もイースシリーズに衝撃を受けた、一人です。移植作品と完全版は良かった。
Ys 2 opening is so creative. It's not just a mix of quick cuts, it also has a very cool suspense build-up and omg, that lightning at 5:01.
This franchise is so underrated it’s has old has the legend of Zelda and only a few people know about it
Gotta love that they ( mostly ) used a rock-style openingnumber. Getting you pumped up for the game. "To make the end of battle" also works great as ringtone.
Still remember playing Ys 1 and 2 on my Windows XP PC like 20 years ago. Time flies. To Make the End of Battle is just one of those songs that will stick with you forever, what an epic piece of music.

@@christopheribarra1170 I go through these weird phases where I have to listen to the music, play the games and watch some vids on it. I have been a fan since NEC released the US version I think in 1989 or so on TurboGrafx CD. I was hook then LOL

I understand people can have different taste in gaming, but I just can't help but feel sorry for gamers who have not even tried Ys or Trails games. They are missing out on one of the best jrpg series of all time. These games resonate so much with me and I love every moment of it.
most underrated game serries i was playing ys 6 on ps2 when i was a kid love this game series, music good, bosses good atmosphere is good

Ys Seven opening music will be my forever favorite Ys opening music
Finished origin, oath, seven, and lacrimosa. Lacrimosa of dana is the most emotional and the best for me.

Underrated game series. That also goes for their other games as well. And its like the Tales of series and Persona or Shin megami tensei series they all need more attention and love.

冒険が楽しくなる盛り上がり方
気持ちの良い楽曲に爽快感のある戦闘
王道といえばありきたりかもしれないけど
最初からＥＤまで楽しくプレイ出来るＲＰＧ

でも、１＆２を８の感じで出して欲しい気持ちはあります。
Ys Oath of Felghana and Ys Origins are my favorites. Would love to see a Ys 5 remake in the style of them.
I don't think the Ys 8 style would work for Ys 1 and 2 because Adol is by himself.

They had something really good going on when Ys VIII had an anime opening with incredible music, why couldn't they do the same with Ys IX?!

I sincerely hope the lack of opening animation in Ys IX was because Falcom wants to save money for future Ys and Trails projects.

Well yah, ys ix is their experimental, they know this game gonna be bad. So they save budget for next game using new engine.
Hahaha.... If Ys IX is bad, I can't imagine how shaken the gaming world would be if Falcom give us their best effort!

@@Motoko_AHTR Ys IX is a good game, but it's definitely a step down from VIII. I suspected it was a funding issue, and several sources confirm this. I hope they get things sorted for X as well. Should be a milestone in the series.

@@masterxl97 A ton of Japanese game developers are bleeding cash at the moment. Just a year or two ago Nippon Icchi couldn't even pay their employees and had to slash staff deeply.
Falcom is also hurting without the extra funds of the global market. Covid had also spiked development costs due to Japan's public health policy, and the need to work remote. In what can only be called desperation by both companies, they partnered to localize Ys VIII and now Ys IX. The initial translations for Ys VIII was so bad,a public apology was issued and the game was re-translated, re-dubbed, and re-localized from scratch. This only happened because of the steep budget cuts and attempts to cut corners on development and localization.

Monstrum Nox doesn't have an opening because having actual character animation instead of flash tweens in Lacrimosa of Dana's opening blew out the budget
Playing all the YS games you find things that are in common.
1. It takes place in the East
2. All villains belong in the same organization etc. of some sort searching for some relic.
3. All ancient beings are somehow related to each other as came from an ancient civilization long forgotten.
4. The origin of magic derived from the same ancient civilization.
5. Adol destined to save all of East.
You forgot degens who always go on making a deal with ancient devils only to miserably fail and letting us to clean up after them. After Adol kicks their asses obviously

If you look at the maps for Ys, the world is actually an alternate version of Western Europe. Some of the countries/region names are slight variations of real names. Some examples of this are Romn which is Rome, Ispani is Spain, Afroca is Africa, Gllia is France, and Britai which is Britain.

To me, the best Openings in order of music and quality of video is: YS II - Even if the animation isn't great they did an awesome job with that one, Then Ys Origin because tha Guitar and Violin just gets me every time, Ys Memories of Celceta, that game opening gives me the chills, Ys Seven and Ys Lacrimosa of Dana. I love Dana's opening but it's one of the most serene openings, quite celestial, and I like it yeah, but Falcom shines when they make really amazing bangs like Origins and Ys II. I love them all though.
Same. YS II still the best Op for me > followed by Origins > then Celceta > Seven and VIII

Those 1&2 openings aren't 1987. They are from the early 2000s remake.

Yeah, I was expecting the OP from the PC-Engine/Turbo-Grafx version I played and loved...the animation wasn't that perfect yet, but effective

Say what you will about JRPGs. Ys is one of the greatest gaming series, bar none. A 35+ year legacy with excellent music no matter what the game.

I just played 2 ys series: celceta and lacrimosa of dana
Played everything but Lacrimosa so far. I defeated last boss in Origin for Yunica but a bug kept the ending from plsying every time. Haven't cleared Ark of Naphistism cause my psp died before i could. Currently playing Memories of Celcetta....Damnit Falcom, you're burning through my wallet!
It feels sad indeed. It fits the theme of game after you finish it.

I'm an American and started my Ys journey in 2011 with Origin and Chronicles. Have played most of them now. I truly wish I'd gotten to experience them back when you did. Ys 1 and 2 for the PC Engine/Turbografx CD would have blown me away as a kid in the 1990s.
The West never got Ys 4: Dawn of Ys. As good as Ys 4: Memories of Celceta is I've heard Dawn of Ys is one of the most incredible experiences and I hate that we missed out on it.

Uhhh, you didn't start with 1987 at all. That's pretty misleading. The oldest original game you have here is Ys VI, everything else is remakes so there's nothing here from 1987.
Already played several YS, Lacrimosa of Dana the best imo n the opening was epic too....too bad memories of celceta didn't release on switch :(

Yeah, that is their own fate alone. That's why Adol never fell in love again after realizing Feena will be turned into a statue when her sister and her is gonna seal the Black Pearl. Even if Adol ever gotten to make girls fall in love with him, he still wouldn't want to go through the trouble of losing anyone again so he mustn't get attached to them too much. Even if beautiful girls like Olha, Terra, Elena, and Dana would most likely appear in his life, he just couldn't feel the same love as he did when he met Feena.
I have Ys Origin on Steam and ordered Ys IX Pact Edition for Switch this June. If this wasn't a sign to start playing the games, IDK what is for me.
The series has some of the most beautiful waifus.

旅客船が漂流したあと、漂流メンバーを集めて村を興し、そのうえでモンスターから村を守り島を探索するというRPGならではの冒険譚。そして島からの脱出に発展させていく中で個々の性格による様々な葛藤があるドラマ。そして世界の理に向き合ったとき、人が未来に向かって生きる意思の強さは本当に感動作劇です。
なお、自分はイース8から始めた人間です。イースは中後半端な古株RPGとして食わず嫌いしていた自分が馬鹿だった。
コンテンツの不足を説明するモンストラムノックスが急いでいるように感じました、そしてもちろん彼らはゲームのアニメーションのオープニングを作ることさえしませんでした

Ys 6 on the PSP is FUCKING GOAT. The game is better on the ps2 but goddamn the opening on psp is GOAT.
Ys 1 and 2 is my favorite but it is also the first one I played and both opening are great. Ys 7 and 8 are classics OP too. Celceta ain't bad.

6 and 8 are still great, 9 likely would have been spectacular if Falcom hadn't been lazy and skipped out on creating an intro.

The openings were always passion projects done by their developers in programming downtime. With IX, budget cuts, and the sheer size of the game, made that almost impossible. I hope they patch one in later, but they may just be saving the budget for X

Yes sir, one of the best and oldest JRPG series of the video game industry, everygame has it's unique combat system and mechanics I strongly recommend you play in the canon order but you can also play by launch order.
