Anyone can catch a shark from a boat, land based shark fishing is where the challenge is at! And no I am not dissing boat fishing, it's just two different sports! Thanks for the video.
Pensacola,FL! Just got a 6ft6 bull shark this weekend. Weather is starting to cool down a bit and it's bringing the shark bite with it!
If we are fishing in the surf we will normally kayak out a few shorter drops right in the first gut and 1 or 2 longer drops after the second sand bar, unless we are in the bay. We have one spot in the bay where it's a sudden drop off to 30ft deep about 30 yards off shore. My bud just had his 6/0 get spooled there about a month ago.
That formula X2 commercial is crazy ...... the " lab" is somebody's kitchen ... looks legit
Y'all give great advice on these shows, but the commercials are longer than the actual footage. People come to these channels to watch fishing shows, not product advertisements.
Nestor Nazario Hi Nestor and thanks for watching, Truthfully, our commercials are standard. Each is 30 seconds and there are a total of ten. This is general practice. Keep in mind, you can fast forward through the commercials if you'd like and get right to the good stuff. - Capt Mike

And I found the FormulaX2 quite comical. ie A chemical engineer needs to have the mass-energy equation written on a whiteboard. Or anyone would have to have that written down, for that matter.

Down here it is common practice to paddle large baits out past the second break in a kayak or paddleboard, you guys do the same up there?
At this moment we are not sponsored by Daiwa, we do use a lot of Daiwa reels though. We are also starting to use Alutecnos reels for trolling duties, wahoo fishing, swordfishing, etc. Did you have a specific question about something? Capt Mike
I almost caught a Bull shark on 65 pound test Braid BUT my leader was 50 pound flouro so fight only lasted about 5-7 minutes. The bait was a 13 inch blue runner cut in half so in less than 15 minutes I was hooked up. Next time I'm switching to wire.

cutler bay or southern biscayne bay has some big sharks on our grass flats
Do you know if you could do this North Carolina and have it work the same way?
You can vertical/speed jig anywhere! As long as there is structure or schooling game fish, the approach will work. Remember your jig is simulating a wounded baitfish, so anything that eats fish will slam the jig! - Capt Mike
what about a Penn Fierce reel to use on the smaller sharks of the shore? I use circle hooks for catfish and they work great
Yes , A Penn fierce would certainly be a versatile reel for a wide variety of applications. I would recommend loading it with braid for increased line capacity. - Capt Mike
Florida Sport Fishing TV Im going to Boca Grande Florida and going to try to fish for shark off the shore but not in the surf. What would be the best baits? I was always told if you can catch some lady fish, use them sharks love them.

Hey Mike I wanna go shark fishing from the Skyway Fishing Pier.
I just like to know if a 80pouns fluroro would work with small sharks between 2 to 6 feet.
Should I buy some wire? What #.

Can I surf fish sharks with a medium action rod. It's not a surf rod though.
Yes for small/medium spinner sharks and blacktips, but keep in mind there are BIG sharks that roam the beach, you may want to step it up or you may find yourself outgunned! Thanks for watching. - Capt Mike
Those aren't fully grown bonnet heads. I caught one that was 4 1/2 feet last year. In my cast net.

you need to pronounce the fish the proper way you say "bonita" but it says bonito and the some of teh fish you use for chum are mackerel tuna, but great video
Hey love your show I'm gonna be doing some fishing off a pier and off the beach with a Penn fierce 2 heavy action with 300 yards 20lb wind tamer braided line and a steel leader and 7/0 hooks mainly focusing on black tips 2-5 foot range and whatever will bite. Will my set up handle that?Any info or feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
olin brown that set up will do the trick make sure that you have plenty of line.

Yes, use a large hook, like an 8/0 or 9/0 with a fresh piece of bonito or barracuda. - Capt Mike
thank you and do you think i could use for it like a 6000 penn battle spooled with 20lb hi-vis line and 60-80lb mono clear line on a shakespear ugly stick 8ft rod rated for i think 10-25 lb line? for a light set up?(its all that i have right now till i can afford something more for it since just starting out)
Andrew Collins I know this is a super delayed response, but that would work just fine. I wouldn't necessarily call a 6000 series penn a "light set up," but then again if it's what you got it'll do more than fine. My girlfriend just caught a 4.5ft shark on a 7'6" rod with a 4000 series battle. I think she was using 30 or 40lb mono line (I prefer braided) and similar pound test leader. And believe it or not, she was using a 2/0 circle hook. Bent the hook out a bit, but still managed to pull the shark in no problem!
