  • Gulf Stream Glory is all about offshore fishing in the Gulf Stream for broadbill swordfish and dolphin off southeast Florida. First we drop to the bottom 2000 feet down with electric fishing equipment using rigged squid and bonito strips for bait. We end the day on a super hot dolphin bite.

    Got ya'....people are certainly entitled to express their opinions and if there is one thing that I have learned along the way it is that no matter how hard you try, it is impossible to please everyone all of the time. Thanks for continuing to watch, it's a SeaVee 390 powered by triple Mercury Verado 300s. Capt Mike

    I love your show... But DAMN !!! 10 minutes of fishing, and 17.29 minutes of commercials ? That's excessive. When have you ever met anyone who loves to watch commercials ?

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  10 років тому +6

      Hi Kurtis and thanks for watching. The episode you may be referring to was very likely from a few seasons ago. When we first got started we needed the extra support to get off the ground. We have since reduced the number of commercials/sponsors in a big way. I am certain you will enjoy recent episodes so please don't give up on us. Check out the 2013 season and the new 2014 episodes that we're uploading weekly. Let me know what you think. - Capt Mike

    Thanks for watching. Some days its all gaffers and some days its all schoolies. Thats fishing! Trust me, I wish I had the ability to find only 20-40 pound fish but that just isn't the real deal down here. As fas as the "gay masks," here across South Florida the sun is brutal and the "masks" are a real benefit when it comes to protecting yourself from the sun's harmful UV rays. Last thing we want is skin cancer. Capt Mike

    Dolphin are fast growing fish, maturing at 2 years, growing up to 2ft in their first year depending on food intake,etc. The big cow isnt a "pack leader" and those schoolies will be fine. The most important thing to do is release undersize dolphin and dont over limit

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  9 років тому +2

      Chris M We couldn't agree more, we have literally released and tagged countless schoolies this season. Lots of fish this year but quantity over quality really. Thanks for watching - Capt Mike

    Reminds me of the time I threw on a big bull Mahi and the top half of a two piece spinning rod popped off and slid down the line until it was stopped by the hook and live scad attached to it. What was crazy, is when the dolphin saw this, he let go of the live scad and attacked the rod tip. I mean he really tore into it as if he was angry. He completely ignored the fresh live bait too.

    Moving to Merritt Island from Michigan soon. I went to a Military school in melbourne back in the 70`s, and have great memories of fishing for King Mac`s, and dolphin. Is the fishing still decent out of Sebastian, without having to go to far off shore?

    hey i have a question for you can u troll a ballyhoo on a circle hook?

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  10 років тому

      Absolutely! Many crews troll circle hooked ballys. Just remember to drop back and give the fish ample time to consume the bait before locking up. Once you come tight you should be hooked up. Make sure you go with an in-line tournament approved circle hook, I like VMC hooks, corner of the mouth every time! - Capt Mike

    Why you killing them all? I love my fishing but can you use a net sometimes? Especially when you found a school of dolphin, identified the cow and seemed to understand that it was matriarch for the school.
    Why kill that one? You probably fucked them up a bit, upset the balance, that one normally wouldn't get eaten.
    Please think about sustainability.

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  10 років тому

      Hi Richard, you bring up some excellent points, we make it a point to release the vast majority of dolphin we catch. We also make it a point to tag as many possible to help with research and conservation efforts. Make no mistake, what we do keep is ALL very well used. Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy Florida Sport Fishing TV. - Capt Mike

    • @richards3562

    • @FloridaSportFishing

      Well, nice that you see my point. Maybe if we can educate others to do the same then our (grand) kids will be able to fish too. Globally we need more catch and release as well as tighter quotas on commercial fishing.
      Be luck and catch them twice. ;-)
