Depends what we are fishing for bait, with live goggle-eyes, slow trolling at 2-3 knots, with strip baits and rigged ballyhoo, more like 5-7 knots. Capt Mike

Here along the Southeast coast, you can catch dolphin and blackfin tuna from 80 ft all the way out to beyond 800 feet. The key is clean blue water with the presence of bait, birds, color changes, rips, floating debris, etc. I know this is pretty vague but its a big ocean and everyday is different. - Capt Mike

+Adrenaline loose Structure is always good, such as wrecks, reefs, color changes, etc however kingfish will swim wherever there is a supply a forage and you will def. catch them out in the open. - Capt Mike
