I'd love to see you do a mod on this, and near the end you expressed wanting to have solid panels to have more space to work on, and fyi this case DOES have a solid side panel version! Fractal is one of the few companies left that still does them and I love that. If I'm being honest it looks even slicker than the TG versions. Something about the entire shape is really enticing

Edit: a case like this is very plain and easy to modify and map out. An engine block is much harder to plan.

well, it looks like properly ventilated case. but when it comes to watercooling and putting bunch of stuff inside...this case has quite compact usable space, to say the least.
@@angeltensey I've been thinking, if there's a way to dissasemble the feet and put the top cover in the bottom, it could make for a damn great inverted case.
@@angeltensey Well, not every case has to be a watercooling case. I'm surprised Fractal even put fill ports in this case because you wouldn't buy this case to just rip out the two 180mm fans (which are 38mm thick btw, not the standard 25mm) and instead put a 120/140mm-based radiator in the front. There's some 180mm-based radiators like the "Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 180mm Dual" which might be an interesting match though...
@@wimpyhugz_TGK I saw some reviewers say that this case is a real full tower and has great watercooling potential which is ridiculous. Looks like they just fulfilling promotion task from fractal. Its limited watercooling options is unfortunate for me, because im actually looking fora new case (bored of my view 71,which is generic fish tank) and torrent's front panel is absolutely stunning. Reminds me of...kinda mid-20 century science fiction illustrations with monumental geometrical buildings made of mix of shiny metal and concrete.
When I first saw this case I immediately thought of a Star Wars build! Only just played Jedi Fallen Order and I'm getting those vibes right away!

Same! It's to the point that I'm a little disappointed Phil hasn't done a little cutout of his own head, just bobbing and smiling, traveling along the fluid lines.
I read this and didn't even think of the person. I imagined a little animated Phillips head screw bouncing around like Clippy. Now I want this as a digital assistant that pops up with stupid puns like "That's tight!" if I upvote something or "Screw it" when I downvote things.

And, it seems like this case with two 280s in the bottom, 2 in the front, and one 140 in the back would make for a fairly quiet air cooled pc. Lots of air movement and not too much noise.
You really don't need to touch the fans in this case at all. 140's at the bottom get a bit too close to the bottom of an ATX MB connections.
I bought this case a few weeks ago and love it! I'm currently trying to fit a Alphacool Monsta 360mm (2x180mm not 3x120mm) in the front of the case. I think I may have to modify the radiator to fit.

I'd love to see a space battleship sort of themed case mod. I loved the destiny 2 mod and the star wars mod, I'm interested in seeing what you and the team come up with this time.
This case definitely reminds me of a ship engine pod, love to see a build, solid damaged panel like your corsair one mods. I would love to see if you could adjust the feet to offset it at a 45 degree angle think would look quite special.
I also think it would be interesting to try to mod the glass side panel. I don't think I've seen anyone do this, but it might be a cool challenge. It'd be tough to get paint to stick, but maybe something like window tint or something with a fitting pattern?
If I was building a PC in this case, I would go intake on the back and bottom and exhaust it out the front, and power supply to exhaust from inside the case as well.

Also I'm sure you could get trays to covert SSDs to fit into the hard drive bays ... if you needed them for some reason. I just wish the OPPOSITE were also true, because for capacity reasons I will never not do a minimum of RAID5 four-disk spinning-rust array. And for performance reasons OS on NVMe. I just ... don't see the purpose of SSD bays.
8:54 Those panel designs aren't unnecessary, it allows them to use a thinner gauge metal yet still have structural rigidity and prevents the panel from warping and making a popping noise.

Jay is into cars, he should know this. a lot of fire walls look like that somewhat.
@@ImDudePlayinADude In fact in a lot of modified performance cars, some of the panels have drilled holes that are warped like this to increase rigidity while reducing weight

Im actually using the FD Era as a media server with an Ryzen 4750g works fine for me. Only complain i have is about the 3.5 drive bay they are none fixed which is stupid. The last thing u want is to have a big HDD drop on ur mobo when u move it.
But other then that it is fine. Using 240mm AIO and added 2 Noctua 140mm at the bottom. But removed the 80mm noisy fan
Why not give us a 240mm fan like ANTEC did on me P900 case.. like cut out the GLASS and make a FAN port.. come one. BE NEXT LEVEL by thinking it.

I love the previous case mods Jay did, but looking at how the Red Dead and the Engine builds went (having it been by creative stagnation, overall distaste for the concept after having started or whatever it was) I sure hope this time the creative juices flow into a worthwhile and memorable project!

I'd like to see this case in a pure airflow/air-cooled build using nothing but Noctua stuff.
Solid side panels. Some of his car sounddampening and noctua ! I even would like to hear 5x NF-12x25 vs 4x ap181s/183s.
Nidec all the way. Noctua is overpriced and overhyped.

I would keep the stock fans at least for the front because I do not think that Noctua makes 180s. You could use them for the bottom and the rear but I would probably stick with the stock but I would use a Noctua cooler like a DH-15. You could use solid panels and sound dampening but glass really isn't that bad since it is very ridged. My guess is as it is pretty quiet at low settings but you would have to see how the heat vs sound works out.
@@Outland9000 Well, i myself chose a thicc boi: STP Bomb Aero 4,1mm with a scoond layer of Surga Performance Comfort Mat Integra 6.0 mm to boot. You can stiffen the case with it and fully decked out it modulates the sound to the humm of a spaceworthy engine room ;-) At least in my FT02 case

@@joeschmoe5009 actually, the H1 rizer cable isn't bad, if you're modding, and not using screws, or else just using zip ties or something, to hold graphics card rizer cable in place... Also, it should probably only be in builds that only you would use, guaranteed... And I'm not recommending the H1 case, just saying that the cable itself isn't that bad, or has the potential to not be, cuz it's only that hole that's the problem in the certain circumstances...

@@ChristopherHailey I'm not saying that it would be good in an H1 case, I am just saying that the rizer cable itself isn't bad depending on how it's screwed down, and that a few people might have a use for van H1 rizer cable, where you wouldn't even need screws, like say using glue, however, the gigabyte thing is a different story, because if you use the rider cable without that hole screwed in, it won't break, but a gigabyte PSU can fry at any time...(also I'm talking about using the GPU rizer in such a fashion that you wouldn't use screws ever, no matter how hard someone might try, like, as I mentioned, with glue, in any case that's not an H1, say a custom built bubble iMac PC to desktop conversion, although I have decided to go with a iGPU, so that point is moot

2 140mm and 1 front 180mm is still like matx sized
I have an In Win A1 Plus. Just two 120 mm fans in the bottom. One 120mm on the back and one 120 on the side. I would love to have full front airflow instead of using side vent. On the same case size but it's quite difficult to fit in sff case
@@WayStedYou Obviously, an ITX case wouldn't fit such an amount of fans, I don't think he expects that either, just take the design elements and distribution, and shrink it to be tighter...

Meshify was nice, but outta the box from Fractal it wasn't great for airflow. The chassis was great, but they skimped on the fans. It desperately needed at least one more fan to make it work.
@@jellorelic my meshify 2 compact came with 2x140mm front and 1x120mm rear. That thing has excellent airflow with that setup, no need for exhaust fans at the top

To me it looks like a variant of the Meshify S2, but with some things on the inside changed around. It actually looks really nice, I’m interested to start seeing builds in there. The watercooled builds could be cool, especially if you wanted like a gunmetal theme
Yes, definitely would love to see a mod done with this case. Something with an industrial or military feel would be cool.
The icegiant pro siphon would be awesome with this build like a full air cooled tower but the prosiphon would be performing close to a cuatom water loop

SFF is where it's at for me. I don't really want my pc to be an extra piece of furniture in the room or for it to take a desk all to itself.

I like big cases and ATX boards too. Ample space for parts assembly and cable management, and also easy to clean because there's lesser small gaps.
Never going to do SFF, not because I don't like SFF, but due to my Neanderthal level of cable management skills and hand dexterity.

I'd love to see a mod in this, especially what you described. Sounds really cool. I just bought the RGB version and it'll be the first case I've ever bought where I'm not going to replace the fans. Going to go with air, but might do an open loop when EK's new 360mm (2x180) rad comes out. Also, just a heads up, they do have an optional vertical mount bracket, and you don't have to remove any fans. And I've also seen some testing where adding the back fan is a waste. It's results ranged from doing nothing, to actually hurting temps.
Yes I want to see a case mod on this one! Also, love that they give you the tools/brackets in the box to flip the 180s to bottom intakes and the 140s to the front for AIO installs. If I was doing a full-sized build, it’d be in this case.period. The option for a solid panel would also be cool or buying the brackets piece meal to make your own.
There is a solid paneled version, yeah? I'd love to see this case modded. They're fun series to watch, and I can totally see the scifi engine pod thing working.
The "cargo container" ridges are for strength. When metal is stamped in that way it adds to its stability and strength, rather than just a flat piece of metal. I would argue they are necessary for that purpose.

19:27 (garbage stock fans) This has been in my mind for awhile now: Where should all these sub-quality units go now? Counting Jay here who's already got a box-ton of stock fans unused & piled up, there's likely alot in the world whose subpar stock fans have been replaced with better ones. Because of course, who wouldn't like good fans for their computer. (whether or not fans get replaced or not isn't the topic here) What then, are the fate of these units?
I guess it applies to any subpar unit ever; one other kind of component that got me concerned of this first are RAM sticks. There's alot of 2ndHand listing of RAM modules that are old and of low capacity.
"Maybe you can merge-solder the RAM ICs into one or something idk lol" or so my thoughts went; doubt that's ever happening because ICs but...yeah, all unused.
