I had these on preorder for over a year, but cancelled after the I saw footage from the Blazar Remus. IMO the character is very similar… but the Blazar are 1/10th the price. Plus… the Blazar come with a really nice case, which makes me wonder why Atlas cheaped out on a case.
I’ll have to check those out! Maybe have them side by side, the case thing def hit me haha. I was really expecting one. Luckily I have a 1510 with trekpak layon around, the inserts slide in almost perfectly into that for a perf cut out of the lens
I'd say the way they solved it with the soft inserts is way better than getting a custom case. I mainly have SKB and Pelican cases for storing lenses, wireless accessories and carrying batteries. Now the case Atlas provides is a SKB unit, which would fit perfectly. I haven't been bothered enough with swapping out the DZO 10-lens case for a Pelican with the vespids, or even the pictors, which I'm glad were included, but having multiple empty slots, are annoying. And most of the times I'd love to only bring 6 lenses, which would save a ton of space both on the magliner and also in the truck. Then again, Atlas could have bumped up the price with $130 on each lens, included the case, and not told anyone. Everyone would be happy. 🤷♂
@@Minhute Blazaar don’t quite have the same quality, (there’s some good side by side videos) and I’m pretty sure they took the design of the Mercury - but they sure are a bargain

Righttt haha I probably wouldn’t have noticed 😂 im just glad the inserts fit so perfectly, like theyre so snug in the pelican they dont even slide
