For all you thinking it is a 3 string bass if you watch from about :20 to 40 seconds you can clearly see the 2 black stings and him strumming them.
And the 5 tuning knobs at the end. If that's what they're called
I may be wrong, but those are the shadows of the strings you're seeing.
I dug a little deeper and I think I could make out the black strings on some pic, but man are they hard to see.
And an actual 3 string bass would have a narrower neck. There would be no benefit to having just 3 strings on such a wide neck so far apart
