  • Hello Everyone,
    I Received another great product from Vevor and it's the 8kw Diesel Heater with an upgraded control unit. I am going to test it out to see if this is the ultimate way to keep you warm during winter camping!
    And it's powered by EBL 1000-watt Power Station! so it should power the diesel heater all night.

    I really like the square smaller version. I'm sure after using it a few times, it gets easier to set up and use. Gonna buy the 8kw Horizontal All-in-one. Great video brother!

      The 8KW is actually just the 5KW relabeled. There is no such thing as an 8KW model. If you did your research you will fin this out. It's a lie but atleast most people know it and just buy a 5KW to save a few bucks.
      These heaters are mostly all from the same company. The Vevor, Wippro, some of the Hcalory and no name brands are identical except for the sticker on them. And they all still come with the cheap useless green fuel line that is garbage and should be outlawed. It has been known to swell and leak, which could cause a fire being so close to the exhaust port! Don't use it.

    hey man. love this video. but quick question. how safe are these mounting into an enclosed van with the exhaust helpfully routed out and sealed properly. would the unit being inside a small place be an issue at all?

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you and no, as long as the exhaust is tightly sealed, you wont have any problems running it inside. I at times put the heater inside the tent during raining days and it works.

    Hi! Great review, thank you! One question on the temperature control. Is the temperature only sensed at the Controller? if so, is the controller detachable to bring into the tent so it's reading the ambient air in there?

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  7 місяців тому +1

      Great question. Yes, you are correct but the wire is only about 9 inch long so if you want it longer so you can bring it in the tent, you can cut and attach longer wires.

    Hello my friend, you should try putting a plastic bag under your fuel cap in and around the threads, that should help stop the leaks. Take care.

    Kool heater .

  • @artielatzko9379
    @artielatzko9379 6 місяців тому +1

    the hole in the cap is not to let pressure out. atmospheric pressure is 14.7. in order to pump from the tank , air has to enter into the top of the tank. If that hole is blocked as the fuel is used it will create a Vacuum and your fuel flow will stop.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  5 місяців тому +1

      it works both ways, otherwise, the tank will blow up as you go higher in elevation so it needs to release the air build-up as well.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO

      it is ideal to leave it outside of the tent but it's not weatherproof so if it rains, you have to have it covered. I usually have an umbrella over it.

      if you are running only a diesel heater at max temp. with the 1000@ power station, you should be able to heat it for around 20 hours.

    How'd you get away with using 10 amp and not 15 amp ? Says in the manual in 3 pages don't use cigi lighter and 10 amp isnt enough for glow plug ?

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  2 місяці тому +1

      14 amp is needed it only to start the diesel heater and some powerstation like the EBL I am using can boost output amp and will be able to be put out close to 14 amps. Like 13.6 so it works. But other powerstaion like the bluettie, and vtoman couldn't get it to start.

    Quick question: if I leave the heater outside of camper, does it have an indoor temperature sensor to automatically stop/start by indoor temperature?

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO

      @@TX_TANK I have an older Vevor model too and in the manual, it said to prime it first so I primed it and it was a big mess. LOL but I recently tested another new diesel heater with an even older 1st gen controller, and I started it without priming and it worked!!

    • @TX_TANK
      @TX_TANK 8 місяців тому +2

      @ChasingAdventuresCO Cool brother, I remember that you had to tear apart that 1st heater to figure out why it wasn't working. I made a few mods with mine: padded the carrying handle, added a 90° adapter to the exhaust pipe for quick disconnect, and added a 5 ft expandable air duct hose to really stretch it out into the tent. If I have time, I'll put up a video next month. Thanks again for suggesting the heater, definitely works great. 👍🏻
