This Man Served 8 Years in Prison, Now He’s A Defense Lawyer
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 лют 2018
- When Jarrett Adams was 17 years old, he was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to 28 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Fueled by his desire for justice, Adams began studying the law while incarcerated. After reading countless books, journals and newspapers, he reached out to the Wisconsin Innocence Project, an organization dedicated to reforming the criminal justice system. With their help, Adams was exonerated and his conviction was overturned, but not after having already served 8 years in prison. Today, he’s a defense attorney, fighting to help others facing the same injustices.

It is amazing that after being sentenced to 28 years and having served 10 years in prison, he still believes in the court system
America's justice system is ridiculously punitive, but I think it's still fairer than some other systems.
@@AceofDlamondsfor certain people its fair.
Wow just wow . Just goes to show if you want to see change in this world your going to have to be that change.

i see no changes wake up in the morning and i ask myself is life worth living or should i blast myself-tupac
You know if you go to prison once you can’t get in any colleges and you get screwed over
This is extremely inspirational. I truly hope this man will continue to create success with his now freed now and right the wrongs of past mistakes. Give this man a medal of honour. He deserves it.
His story gave me goosebumps, what a great guy.
#GreatBigStory thanks for sharing this video!
I thought it was supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty," I didn't know that it's actually "innocent until declared guilty".
1968 ęčľűď i was put in jail twice for the same thing. Accused of a crime i didnt commit. A warrent still stood in another state because it wasn't updated in their system. I got arrested im that state for a warrent that was supposed to be squashed for a crime i didnt commit. It most certainly is not innocent until proven guilty. You will sit in jail/prison until you prove your innocents.
Kkk
It’s actually guilty until proven innocent if the “offender” is male
My husband spent 10 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, was locked up right after he turned 20. It rocked our world. Money and race talks, he had the "correct race", but no money. Almost same story. Praise to you Sir. Thank you for what you are doing!
Big bucks change big stubs ( even small ) I guess
No defense is the worst defense theory any attorney can recommend. I applaud this man for working hard to prove his innocence and not giving up like many people do.
Woah. That’s amazing! Truly an emotional and crazy journey about racism and living the best life you can...
Amazing just truly amazing....
Anyone else notice the sheriff falling asleep in the court room?
Cyrus Ghavami yeah I did lmao
This deserves more views. Respect to this man and wishing him the best on his career.
This could be a Hollywood movie, starring Denzel Washington.
Sebastian Alba Yasss!!

No man, most likely some other white dude starring them.

Absolutely Dreadful
Your comment is full of irony.
"It was necessary to encourage the greatness out of me..." most profound and spiritualy mature wisdom he could have gained...and he did gain it...and so much more. Beautiful!
The inner human strength and fight not to give up, helped set him free and saved another soul, beautiful.
Damn dude! 10 years of his life just... Gone! :(
I am not so sure about that.
Yes, he was in prison wrongfully during that time however it was that time and those circumstances that led to him being where he is today. Had this not happened to him, he likely wouldn't have been so driven to become a defense attorney and help others who may have been wrongly accused themselves.
Even though at the time, i am sure that he wished that things could have been different and he had not been in prison, I am sure that a lot of his success and drive that he has now came out of that experience.
This gentleman and his story are truly amazing and worthy of making a movie or documentary about.

Great story. Great comeback. Inspiring!!!
I was in Foster Care and it was horrible. But that experience drew me to the law. I’m currently at a prestigious university completing my bachelors degree. I will be applying to law school next fall.
As usual another great story, you gave me the inspiration to do a set of videos to my town and people showing their stories and contribution to society
This inspired me thank you for sharing.
I hope many people get to watch this inspiring video and, like this amazing man, channel their negative feelings to activities/causes which have a positive impact in our world. Spread love, not hate!

Wow, such a vibrant story!
Brought tears to my eyes
His story gave me goosebumps, but i am surprised that having served 10 years for a crime he didn't commit, he still believes in the justice system. Whenever, i am feeling down i always pull on this story to give me hope and courage. The movie gurus need to use Denzil Washington and turn this into a movie to help fellow black people like me

To: the producer and presenter of this insightful video...
Thank you for sharing Jarret Adams' inspirational faith, hope, and love for his fellow brother/neighbor even after all the wrongful treatment Jarret had been through.
Jarret's statement: "I ended up enrolling at a 4 year college where I studied criminal justice. After graduating I obtained my law degree and I became an attorney. I had the opportunity to exonerate another person and it was special to me because it was in the same state in which I was wrongfully convicted. I've now opened my own law practice. And I think that me coming from a place like the criminal justice system, being wronged, hearing the stories and getting to know other men who have been wronged... what better advocate could they have but myself. I strongly feel like this happened to me for a reason... IT was NECESSARY to ENCOURAGE the GREATNESS out of ME." ~ quote by Jarret Adams."
Joy, Liberty, Love, and Peace to all,
Jaime
