  • This is the solution I came up with to achieve a realistic brake mod for my Thrustmaster T3PA Pedal Set.
I have modified the Conical Brake Mod that is included with the pedals from Thrustmaster. Adding a compression spring which gives a realistic feel of pressure resistance of a real Rally/Race Car.
The mod is simple and cheap to do. Leave a comment to let me know what you thought of this mod!

I just wanted to say thanks for the spring mod vid, that is working out sweet. I'm going to leave a comment for a spring I used for anybody else that might be having trouble finding a spring to do the spring mod you did. Hell yea! I would love to see what your new brake cylinder mod looks like.

I want to see it but where did you get this spring from?

Tried your idea on my t3pa using the brake spring from the original TX 458 pedals that came with the TX wheel- instantly cut almost 2 seconds on my previous record in F1 2019 in Australia and shaved nearly 6 seconds in DIRT Rally 2.0 Paskuri Finland. 👍🏻

Jon Armstrong Rallying - the thing is that without the ”spring mod thing” applying the initial brake pressure in a straight line break zone was like 95 % dead on every corner. The real change for me was when trailbraking at least in a hi DF car like say F1. You apply the right amount of pressure initially but as the speed decrease and you loose DF you want to gradually ease of the brakes to avoid lock up. This mod really helps you to feel it instead of guessing. In a game like DIRT Rally 2.0 this mod for me made it a lot easier to feather left foot braking as a a way to shift the weight of the car and by that balance the car to response correctly whith my steering input. Sorry for my poor english and a somewhat odd description above- but again thanks! this made a hell of a difference👍🏻🏎

Just got a TMX pro wheel, that comes with these pedals as my old G27 finally gave up. Don't have the biggest budget to sim race with. Found an old spring I have from when I modded my old pedals. Was just thinking about doing the same thing as in this video. Fitting the spring over the head and then resting it against the pedal.

Thank you for this idea. I don't really like the conical brake mod too. I'll buy the springs for try it.

Tested and it's not that good; works for awhile cuz without a damper in it, the spring loosen the stiffness very quickly, of course, use depending.

Whats the Diameter and length size of the compression spring needed please?

Could you please share the wire size of your spring? I found 2.5mm-wire-size spring too stiff and 1mm too soft.
    Thanks in advance.

Paul trotter I recommend buying an assortment of small compression springs off eBay and choose one from the pack. You can also cut it to size with an angle grinder.

İs it just me t3pa gas pedal is too light

    • @000Elysium000
      @000Elysium000 7 років тому +1

I find all of the pedals too light. I've had to start re-enabling assists in games because I don't have any accuracy. I'm in the process of designing shock absorbers with changeable springs, and a rack to mount them behind the pedals.
These are the first pedals I've had, and I have to say I'm disappointed with them.
Also, great video. I considered doing something similar using a spring but I was concerned about damaging the back of the pedals and also felt it wouldn't take much punishment before it broke in some way.

Hydraulics is better in anyway. Rubber/spring mods are odd. Not the right sort of things for brakes.
