I love Texas in the cooler months. And you’re right the people in Texas are some of the friendliest people anywhere. And the young people are very respectful. Hope you enjoy your time there.
I don't know of anywhere here in Sac but there is in Oroville. You can look on DFW website. I used to hunt in West Sac by the highway patrol academy and I think you still can. When the weather gets cold the doves move south
Alan…we don’t know how to hunt. 🦌 I do love the mountains 🏔️ it snowed about five inches. Cold Is What Cold Does. Lucky 🍀 The Wind Didn’t Pick Up. On To Finish for us now. I did catch a respectable sturgeon middle of October… Out N The Big Water 💦
I enjoy going to Ralph's ranch in Texas every year. It's like no other place in this world. Big deer (400 class) and big fish lol His ranches are called land of the giants!
I'll be on the water soon but I get reports most everyday from friends. And it looks like lots stripers moved into the delta but are most school size. I'll be heading out this Wednesday so on Thursday you'll get my report. I do need a break sometime!
Good call, I want to see how and setup to catch bluegill for bait to catch strippers. Now you already know we can only use bluegill as bait if we catch them where we are fishing for strippers
Using bluegill for striper bait is a no brainer. You can anchor up and use them like cut bait or drift them as I used to do. Either way there very effective on stripers. You have to catch the bluegill in the water that your using them for bait. When drifting bluegill I use a one once ball sinker on a sliding set up. Using and Gamagatsu 1/0 octopus hook thru the lips of the bluegill hooking it from there bottom lip up thru there top lip and a four foot leader. Let the stripers run with the bluegill for ten foot and set the hook.
The fish chasing bait in the background is awesome
Yes every morning we would go down to the pond and watch the bass, catfish, bluegill and talopia boil all over the place.
