Dude that speech was amazing. Buggy is truly going to be one of the main contenders for the One Piece. And it's poetic, if this theory is true, that Buggy would lead Mihawk to achieve his dreams better than Shanks did, as Shanks and Buggy are KINDA brothers.
Been loving the extra layers we've gotten too, painting Shanks in a darker shade. I mean yea, buggy has his own issues, but it's really looking like Shanks is the one that put him on his villain ark and not just for petty reasons.

  • @Ryzen776
    @Ryzen776 Рік тому +198

While I find the whole theory interesting, the idea of Mihawk accomplishing his dream at a heavy cost more interesting.
Mihawk dueled his captain, won the title of strongest swordman but lost his place in the crew at the same time. This condemned him to sail the sea alone, since he won't follow a captain weaker than him, but also think he don't have what it take to be a captain. This also work with his comment of Luffy and Zorro making a good team, because the same issue doesn't exist between them. Luffy's dream is even bigger than Zorro's one, making him worth following, unlike Shanks who seem to have given up his dream at Logetown.

I thought Shanks gave up on his dream until someone told me that he decided to find the one piece after Luffy awaken his df. Roger must've told him about it before he got executed. Luffy would’ve never asked Zoro to suffer for him. He realized that as well. Terrific writing. So original and incredibly profound. The way Zoro handled the incident says it all. He never took credit. That is a secret he and Sanji share as well. That event holds so much significance the more you think about it.

Buggy sailed with Roger but wasn’t known until Marine Ford. Mihawk is 4 years older than shanks they have the same birthday. Mihawk was the A side. Saying that advanced conquerors alone makes Shanks "stronger" than Mihawk either way or makes it not an even fight makes little sense. Because Zoro has adv conquerors and will keep getting stronger with it. Him using it doesn't makes him less of a swordsman. If Shanks doesn't uses adv conquerors against Mihawk because is "unfair" then Zoro can't use it either i guess... I don't know if my point is understood... It's like saying that now that Zoro has adv. Conquerors he doesn't need his swords to win. He just uses them to be a sworsdman. That's not the right thinking.
Either way I do hope Mihawk to have adv conquerors too because if he fights Zoro I would like for both of them to have the same tools.
What I mean is you can't leave haki out of what it means to be the best swordsman now. It's in fact a key factor as to every top fighter in the story.

However at that level, and if they are mostly equal in terms of armament haki and observation, even if mihawk is superior with the blade, Acoc is a HUGE buff to shanks' attacks, and if mihawk can't block with Acoc, it would be incredibly hard to not take damage

I think it's more they never actually fought. Shanks probably did a kings haki clash with Kaidou similar to what he did with White beard. There isn't incentive for Kaidou and Shanks to fight. The original 4 emperor's just operated in their own territories and never actually clashed over their territories. Shanks didn't care about Wano so they didn't need to fight. Luffy walked straight into Kaidous layer and Big Mom's lairs which ended up with him fighting both at some point. If Shanks fought Kaidous I can't see him leave with anything less with a draw based on the feats he already has. Bro ended a whole war with his presence. A place where shanks and his crew have a massive advantage over kaido and his crew of mostly devil fruit user. Unless they can fly which most of them can't, they lose the second their ship is destroyed and they're forced to try combat the red hair pirates in the water where they stand no chance. Kaido probably looked at the situation decided it wasn't worth the risk and turned around.

I think there might be another thematic connection between cross guild which we're not considering; Shanks. Buggy is Shanks' brother and former crewmate. Bare minimum, Shanks and Mihawk are former rivals and currently friendly enough to drink together. And if you're correct with your theory, Mihawk is a former crewmate. Why then would Croc be the odd man out here and not have some major connection to Shanks?
If you go back and reread impel down, (ch 545.) Croc and Buggy interact for the first time in the manga. Buggy bumps into Croc running away from the demon guards. Buggy recognizes Croc immediately. Although this is possibly just because he’s a warlord, Buggy doesn’t know who Jinbei is in 549 so Buggy is shown not to just know all the warlords by reputation.
In ch 546. when escaping from impel down on the wooden door to get to the marine battleship, Croc takes Mr. 1 and Buggy with him. Jinbei is carrying the door from the water, so he doesn’t necessarily have a say in who to take. Croc is the defacto decision maker here, and he naturally brings Mr. 1, his right hand man, but he also takes Buggy. They possibly could have carried more random escapees from level 1 and 2, but Buggy is the one person allowed on the door. If Croc doesn’t know about buggy, then there’s absolutely no reason to take him, since he also wouldn’t know he’s a fruit user at this point. Mr. 1 even comments on buggy being on the door as being weird later in the chapter while Croc just stands in the background brooding (as per usual.) Did Croc maybe want to give Buggy a better chance at escaping because of a fondness from a shared history?
Also in 549. Croc calls out buggy for not realizing they’re going to marineford by telling him “Quit it. It’s your fault for being stupid and slow.” While Crocodile is fairly comfortable with expressing others' inferiority, this seems a tad more familiar than we usually get from Croc. Even more importantly, when Buggy is revealed as Shanks “brother” and a member of the Roger pirates, Crocodile is the only person in the reaction panels to not react to this information at all, implying potentially that he already knew this.
And finally, if you go to chapter 862, the cover story has Buggy and Shanks playing hanafuda with an anthropomorphic pirate animal. What kind of animal is this pirate? A crocodile (or alligator.) Could this be forshadowing the idea that Croc traveled with the roger pirates in his youth?
TL;DR: All three of the co-captains of Cross Guild are former crewmates of Shanks.

I had suspicions about Mihawk the moment he agreed to train Zoro. So when Buggy makes his grand bid for the One Piece I wondered if this was a hint at both Mihawk’s and Croc’s real motivations.
They were both present for Roger’s executions, so it makes sense they were motivated to go out to sea for the One Piece. At some point in their life.
Shanks’ feelings change after this as well, maybe he was in on Roger’s plan to wait for stronger pirates and “the right time.” Maybe this was “betrayal” that caused Mihawk to go solo.
He joins Shanks’ crew, close to their goal shanks says it’s not time to chase for the one piece. Mihawk gets pissed. They have a fight like Luffy vs Usopp. Mihawk leaves.
So perhaps him training Zoro was a way to make sure Zoro was strong enough to find the one piece and/or defeat Shanks and the Red Hair pirates.

Something I think a lot of people forget among the other cool moments in that fight is that Luffy restrains himself and others from interfering. I believe that him not getting in the way and waiting until the duel was completely over cemented Zoro’s respect for Luffy and is the reason he is the most loyal crew mate.
While a lot of what zoro does, especially how he unquestioningly follows Luffy’s orders can be explained by Zoro’s quirky personality, I believe Luffy’s conduct during his duel actually plays a much bigger role in Zoro’s loyalty than people realize.

When the Ussop and Luffy drama was happening, he tells Luffy not to waver or else the crew wouldn't know who to look to for guidance when they needed it. He also cemented this when the crew talks about Ussop returning to the crew and how disrespecting the captain and leaving the crew should not be met with a welcome celebration unless Ussop acknowledges his wrongdoings. To Zoro, the captain should be followed no matter what so he ensures that Luffy is unwavering in his decisions so that he can believe in any order he commands.

There are many interesting points brought, the more scandalous ones being Zoro and his loyalty. I'm more in line with MelonTeee's analysis on Zoro and his anxiety for strength. Also Zoro actually wanting to just drop Sanji misses the whole point of what that man is going through internally. Regardless of what you think, Zoro intertwines his dream with the crew as a whole as showcased in Thriller Bark. His dream means nothing if he can't even protect his captain.
I am intrigued by the idea that Mihawk is Shank's Zoro but they got the bad ending. However, I feel its just as likely that Mihawk did achieve his goal, but without a crew to share in that dream it becomes rather empty. You're right that Buggy's speech definitely hints at something regarding Crocodile and Mihawk's past, what that is I'm not sure.
There are somethings that discredit the theory and it's the utter lack of acknowledgement of Mihawk and Shanks being crewmates. Every time its just Mihawk and Shanks dueling. Neither Whitebeard nor the Marines even make a hint of this occuring, and yes they would know. Espionage and intelligence acquisition are key things that Yonkos and the Navy engage in. Also that one time during East Blue when Mihawk met Shanks, they talked about Luffy. Mihawk tells Shanks about an interesting boy he met and recalls a story Shanks told him. Contextually it appears that Mihawk was never on Shanks' crew.

He also forgot that even Shanks himself hasn't really gone against Whitebeard (besides being part of Roger's crew). Whitebeard was also someone from a prior generation with his health declining for years and unlikely to be someone Mihawk cared to pick a fight with when Shanks was right there. He's the guy who Mihawk only lost interest around a decade before the main story and over a decade after Roger's death. Just because Mihawk enjoys fighting strong people doesn't necessarily mean he's the type to go out of his way and pick fight with people rather than having the fight comes to him. The bit about Mihawk not being able to challenge Whitebeard because he doesn't have a crew makes no sense at all. If Mihawk shows up and request a duel with Whitebeard is Whitebeard going to just let his crew handle Mihawk? Not happening. After a multiple people get defeated by Mihawk he's not just going to solve it by sending more of his crew without handling Mihawk himself. There's a lot of what if going on with the assumption Mihawk can't challenge big names because he didn't have a crew.
Mihawk's also known as marine hunter, so it's also entirely possible that he had picked more fights with marines than pirates in the past before becoming a shichibukai. And after he became a shichibukai there's no way the marine is going to let him pick a fight with a yonkou openly when the role is to maintain balance with the yonkou.

  • @ZaneBlalock
    @ZaneBlalock Рік тому +3

Ehhh - I think a lot of your takes are just as narrow as the opposites. For example - the idea of challenging WB - at Marine Ford one can see it as Mihawk wanting to see WB still has it as he's an old man. This can be tied to the statements from Garp and Sengoku - as well as WB comment about Garp which is basically them making comments about their past glory; because they've grown old.
Mihawk did a single arm slash towards WB and Jozu took it - that can be seen as "WB can't take this" so Jozu took it. And this can be double downed as we see Spider Squard impale WB without Haki later after.
As for Mihawk being on Shanks crew - it's possible, but we also know that Mihawk was deemed a "famous swordsman" BEFORE Roger's execution. For him to be a famous swordsman at that point would likely imply that he had been beyond the grandline. Before Shanks made a name for himself.
That said - interesting points regardless - I especially dug the parallel to Zoro's path with the SHs and tying that into Mihawk.
So great video overall, but I do think you undermined your build up of "some probably clicked off" and "don't you hate this conversation?" and eventually curving right back into that area of conversation a touch. Guess what I'm trying to get across is, you could of saved time by not including the qualifier portion lol
edit: Also 2 more side point
    - Zoro is the most loyal; you mentioned him willing to leave the crew as he states when he's recruited; but you forget that this changes for him as "Nothing Happened" is the exact walk-back of that idea and statement. He was willing to, and he did, put his life on the line to BE sacrificed for Luffy. The deal of living if able to survive Luffy's pain was AFTER the initial surrendering of Zoro's life. This is also double backed by Sanji who directly tells Zoro that he'd do it instead because he wants Zoro to achieve his dream.
    - Zoro did trust Nami. He was talking sideways due to the fishmen - but later on he dives in the water while restricted because he KNEW Nami would save him.

Loyalty is a devotion or sentiment to something and I would say zoro devotion to the crew is the greatest because he'll leave the moment he thinks it's not his crew anymore, which to me shows more devotion as he's making a decision that he probably isn't happy with. Also I would say his distrust in people shows that he's trying to protect the crew by not being naive and is the only one willing to do that, so I would say him not being as happy or not laughing is him trying to take on the burden of the crew because of devotion which is loyalty.
Like there are knights that didnt trust in their lords but because of the knights code they're devoted to they where loyal.

I think this theory is really dumb. There's never been any instances that even implies that Mihawk was ever a part of the Red Hair pirates. This seems more like "Shanks is stronger than Mihawk, this is a theory explaining why, disregard Zoro vs Mihawk's narrative."
Not to mention Cross Guild would tear itself apart if every member actually followed their dreams and you'd have to either destroy Zoro's entire story or establish a clear WSS for Zoro to beat.
Also obligatory "the World's Strongest Swordsman is not about strength bro, it's about SKILL, completely disregard that the title is gained by beating the current title holder in a normal 1v1 fight."

I always got the vibe that Mihawk is stuck on the hedonic treadmill.
"The hedonic treadmill is a psychological theory that suggests that humans have a tendency to return to a relatively stable level of happiness or subjective wellbeing, despite changes in their circumstances or external conditions."
Basically if you reach a goal, eventually the fruits of that goal become your new normal. Morj made a Chainsaw Man manga review where he goes in depth about it (major spoilers in the vid btw). But this also works really well. I think they aren't entirely incompatible either, as Mihawk seems disappointed in not being able to challenge someone like Whitebeard 1 on 1. Like you said, his goal will always be out of his reach and he will remain dissatisfied because he doesn't have the crew to get him to a position to truly test his metal.

One thing I've noticed about One Piece is that a lot of top tiers don't come across each other as often as we think they do. Especially commanders and less probably come across each other more than actually yonkos and right hands. Mihawk was probably excited to see WB that could have been his first time seeing him in person. Shanks already got history with seeing him multiple times. Even Kaido top tier list didn't have someone like Mihawk on it or Dragon. Two people who I think he hasn't crossed paths with. Garp wasn't even on his list or Rayleigh, but he had a weak version on basically himself on the list that being Oden. Even when Crocodile blocked that Mihawk attack it was meant to cut a rabbit (Luffy) a small fry. But in general from what it seems like Yonkos and their crew don't actually come into close quarters with each other as often. It could disturb the balance or leave each other vulnerable. Even for someone like Mihawk who lives on an island a lone or travels the seas the alone you would have thought people would have tried to jump him or force him to join their crew, but there he is. Sailing the New World on a chair for a ship, unscathed, unbothered.

I think this theory would fit more if Mihawk actually did best Shanks in a duel, with the cost of his theoretical place in the crew. One Piece goes to many lengths to show that while dreams are important, they're nigh meaningless if achieved alone. So Mihawk would work great as an example of someone who had no satisfaction in achieving his dream due to having no one to share it with. This would help smoothen out the endgame too since Mihawk has been set up as the final obstacle for Zoro for pretty much One Piece's entire lifetime so for their duel to have the unsatisfying conclusion of "actually Zoro had only best the second strongest swordsman" doesn't sit right with me.

  • @nihili4196
    @nihili4196 Рік тому +2

I think you misread Zoro's character a bit. Zoro is less comedic because strawhats are less comedic.
Pacing gets more and more tight, we rarely get some off time, and during it more comedic strawhats will get priority.
That being said i really don't think he changed more than any other strawhat post timeskip. They all grew and matured, but still feel the same.
And i agree that your interpretation of Buggy's speech is correct, Mihawk got lazy, but I'm still not convinced here. Mihawk most likely had a clash with Shanks in same manner as Whitebeard and Roger had: basically breathing the shit out of eachother for sport. I really doubt Shanks would welcome mutinier for a drink in same way as he did in the story.
Honestly i just believe that whole swordman debacle is just byproduct of 20 years old ongoing story from an artist who was barely not a teen when he started writing it. Most of the story was more or less improvised partway, and in early one piece there was no niuanse to things. Now we barely know how to count if someone is swordman or not. The longer story gets, and the more different powers we get in story, Zoro's dream will get more and more muddy, eventually surpassing even the vague "brave warrior of the seas"dream.
And don't get me wrong, I could see that coming out true if Oda were to realise that would make some sense, but at this point this really feels like just trying to explain a writing problem that was unavoidable really.
Also, i would kinda argue that Buggy is best capitan for both crocodile and Mihawk, since despite both of them being stronger than Buggy, buggy has very dangerous ability to snowball into more and more demanding environments that force you to grow. And that was buggy happy to hide in east blue, now we have buggy wanting to claim One Piece.
Of course from story perspective, Luffy would be the best pirate Captain to thrive under if you need challenge, but from in universe point of view, especially if you are aware of real events, Buggy feels like at least equally amazing match

I have been listening to your channel for about 2 years… the last 5 videos and theories you have put out have been really amazing and some of my favorite of your theories! Though we don’t have confirmation some of this clearly has to be a thing! Roger told shanks the future and had him play a role which slowly ruined his sense of adventure and personal dreams… he stalled out and his crew had a falling out where mihawk left perhaps arguing that he should not follow another persons dreams. That is why he knows about shanks plans and the boy who roger is waiting for. And this is why Oda OKd the script on live action where mihawk became interested in the job after he heard about luffy! shanks most loyal friends stuck with him till today hoping deep down inside for a future where the obligation was over and they could do what they want. This is now… roger probably only told him that he needed to pass the nika fruit and keep this early sprout from being plucked by the world government like a gardener raising joyboy. Now he has awakened and shanks can do as he pleases again sparking inspiration in the 2 that left him: buggy and mihawk. This is how Oda crafts stories! He took zoros goal and created a person suffering from his goals eventual success and lack of fulfillment as his antagonist like Luffy vs Moria. as a defeated and bored person who’s dreams are stagnant because he is at the top or because he chose to go it alone and never finds the challenges that give him growth. Oda once said in an interview that one piece manga was only born out of the mutual support and competition between his fellow mangaka in his early teams! He said they all had one treasure they were fighting for … the coveted spot dragon ball had taken as king for decades and shonen jump was pressuring everyone to come up with the next big story… the one piece of art that would carry them for decades ;)… out of this generation came the big three Naruto, one piece and bleach! These yonko battled it out but in the end only the manga king had a clear vision for how his adventure would end and withstood the test of time ;) ... Akira toriyama of dragon ball was white beard or roger inspiring the great shonen manga era… Oda has filled the story with quotes about strawhats saying they need each other to be pirate king or achieve their goals… and just like Oda had huge rivalries with his mangaka crew he wrote that dynamic in with zoro and sanji… when mihawk left it was out of frustration that shanks gave up and he wandered stalled without competition a clear goal nor a team to inspire his growth. That’s why he lives alone in a ghost kingdom, his ship is a lonely single raft for a soloist to go nowhere slowly… his sword is huge but it never has a worthy opponent to use it on and instead he deals day to day with mundane tasks that only require his little rabbit knife instead… like the young dreamer who settles for a 9 -5 that does not use his strengths nor fullfill his goals! with the new knowledge that shanks was waiting and the cross guild is now a crew of pirates with crushed dreams(dofy and Moria incoming for a battle against their own seraphim like a battle with their youthful dreams incarnate that will give them their greatest challenge) this make cross guild and buggy speech so awesome! These old has been a are going to finally approach their dreams like their youthful selves and pose a challenge to the title pirate king and worlds greatest swordsman

I don’t know why all the big one piece tubers they convince people that Mihawk actually isn’t the strongest his vivre card literally says Mihawk is the strongest in title and actuality what more do we need the statements is there by the author 😂

I think shanks could hang with him in sword duels but when he lost his arm mihawk lost interest cause he see's no honor in fighting a one handed swordsman. Also there's the same problem where oda can't get too much into mihawk's backstory and motivations because he's zoro's endgame. Kinda like how we can't get kaido's full story cause of rocks.

First off, this automatically assumes Shanks is stronger then Mihawk. When in reality there is more evidence in the Manga that Mihawk is actually stronger just outright. There is nothing pointing that Shanks is stronger. Just fan head Canon because we want Shanks to be a badass.

The theory about mihawk being on Shanks crew and all of that sounds interesting, I could see it either way.
But I think Mihawk is something different from anything we've seen before now. In a world where body structure and small details matter with hoe peoples bodies are (different wing designs for the 3 different races from the moon) long arm tribes, long head, ect.
The detail that mihawk has different eyes from everyone isn't by accident.
That probably plays into why he by himswlf is worth 3.6billion berries. Which is absurd for anyone without a crew or influence. No ties to the revolutionary army or anything.
His bounty is outrageous concidering what we know of him. That's one reason I believe he is most likely stronger then Shanks just outright. If not then at least equal.

Wow so if zoro is foreshadowed to be “best swordsman” then oda gave us a clue on how the last battle will become. And since you say shanks is the strongest and has been waiting for luffy to match his abilities so they can fight to find the one piece against eachother but with mutual respect means one thing. Luffy will have to kill shanks so zoro can be the best swordsman not because be won but because he outlived. Remember zoro has haki and only said he will never lose again (pertaining to a sword duel). Safe to say if shanks gave luffy the hat then imu must have gave joy boy his hat and that why its still kept. As a commemoration.

Man is that a tasty idea for a flashback and character arc we didn’t even Realise was already going on! …potentially! Of course…
    : D
Imagine Mihawk challenges Luffy to this davyback and Croc and Buggy are just shocked like “woah What are you saying Mihawk!? Why do you want us to fight them for crew mem-“
“I don’t. They’re not fighting for your flag or me for theirs… I’m fighting Zoro for the position befitting old man Rayleigh; my dream is to be the Swordsmaster alongside the crew of the Pirate King and the Kid’s Almost There already… If you had better Observation Hákí then you’d have noticed how determined they were since before you even tried to fight them… This is who My Rival fed his arm to a Seaking to save! So since Shanks didn’t want to become King of the Pirates, I will replace the young Pirate Hunter, as I’d expect a Marine Hunter to be more helpful on the crew before and after the chaos surrounding Laughtale…. And I witnessed their promise to have the world’s strongest swordsman and I even asked him to surpass me! Then I wound up training him months later for 2 years… even taught him how to conquer your own eyes and gave him that scar with message I’d have cut deep enough next time we battle if he couldn’t outplay me with his unnecessary number of swords… though it’s clear I sense at least a few If not All are ready for blackening, though he still relies on the inherent willpower of his Blades and may not even be ready to overwrite his life into such Strong Blades… It’d be quite difficult to tame the King of Hell… It may be a Saîjō already even if it were Properly Assessed…. However some Wánô Blades of Fame aren’t named as such Since the Loss of both the Shōdaî Kítètsū and later the SwordGod’s own Shūsūí which the kid won of his corpse after it’d been stolen by a different Warlord and is it the Skeleton who fences and is also the Soul King who is both a Conqueror of Death itself AND someone to fight one on one against Charlotte LinLin? I know her real danger is power and Devilfruit tricks but I hear she throws a Mean ‘Íkôkkū!’ and so casually… Rayleigh told me to avoid fighting any of the Rocks Pirates… I hear shanks drank and fought with KaîDôū & Whitebeard… and that’s even After he fed his arm to Gōà’s local SeaKing… besides I want the position before Shanks tries to Take it From him and Kill Zoro chàn… I might just be your Warm Up fight Kid… If you ever plan to live up to Shímôtsūkí Rïūmà’s name… So do you accept a one round DavyBack over your Vice captain’s position? I’m certainly Not Number 2 in the Cross Guild as much as we’re Three Captains with a Desire to kill Every Marine… Also we’re gonna pay Aokíjí for your grandpa’s head if the world government don’t have them make whatever deal he’s making with him… but Croc’s who to talk about that Money Stuff with… the clown can only manage the minds of the easily impressed around here…”
    ….or Something along those lines…. : D
Not just me thinking Something like that with 2 or 3 Twists would Really make for an incredible follow up depending on whether Egghead ends in a Revolutionary Triumph or Questioning of whether or not they’re ready for Èlbàf or Whatever BlackBeard or World Government escalations of conflict may come next? Cause I feel like this could be a fun reveal Ôdà’s been Waiting to do just right…
What If Mihawk was called “worlds strongest” Just Because Shanks lost an arm or said something about it publicly whilst people assume he may’ve lost his arm to Míhawk or something because of how Whitebeard Had to Ask as though he knew whatever Story he’d heard from others wasn’t true…?
There could be also fears like “was it the so called Holy Land people like old man Garling? Hear he’s still got that goofy moonhair! I mean I never liked Kaîdô chàn’s fashion but man does he have the ‘Celestial’ Dragons outdone in… not looking like idiots with too much money and undeserved respect…. So is this really one of the last of the god valley vineyards’s sáké Or is everything more peaceful there these days? You know I never would’ve went along with-“ …or whatever they actually talked about when things went off panel…
Hell maybe Shanks or Garp tells the god valley flashback as whoever they were back then hehehe still think it’s possible the sad sight Kaîdo talked about was Actually his captain with a new haircut and Name because he’d made a deal to spare any rocks pirates or whoever they’re allied with if they left then… And the person became a Marine with the name of Either Monkey D Garp OR Dragon… though Dragons too obvious and Garps a better shocking twist of it was just a Haircut hehe
Excuse my rambling through speculative theories and so on which feel twisty enough when I first thought them… : D

Bots that hate people communicating beyond Twitter Limitations start complaining as though they’re too disabled for it to be processed or need to make a spectacle of being offended by someone writing More than 3 short sentences with a meme image as the most they can communicate minus any nuance or deep thought… cause if I wrote a Long One I’d expect those comments if I used more big words but maybe I’m even trying to talk dumber for the people affected by twitter since people are now offended by ideas being long enough to actually communicate nuanced ideas, etc. As though Not Reading wasn’t a choice but they still need to make clear that they’ve got some such misplaced dislike programmed into them…
How’d I start rambling that stuff again? Ha Do Excuse me! : D
But love that JB’s got me theorisin’ off the deep end again!
      Always good fun mate!
      Cheers

Imagine shanks without a sword. How is he going to defeat kaido/admirals? Is he going to haki-punch and haki-blast? It’s a bad take. His primary method of combat is a sword, therefore you cannot deny that he is a swordman. Shanks is 100% a swordman. With this context, unless it is canon where shanks defeat mihawk or there are legitimate claims in the story that shanks is stronger than mihawk, the only logical conclusion is that Mihawk is as strong as or even stronger than Shanks.

Shanks's fans are always on the purest copium, i stopped the video when he said shanks don't need his sword, meanwhile everytime we saw shanks ready to fight he pulled out the sword.

Sorry but I think you're not very good at reading characters. I like your idea about the red hair pirates having given up their dreams for Shanks (hint: Buggy flashback) but saying Zoro is the least loyal character is pretty insane.
Zoro didn't give up on Usopp. He instead needed Luffy to be a captain everybody could stand behind. A captain that would have authority and strength. Because Luffy is the only person Zoro accepts as being stronger than him, hence why he trusts him with his life arc after arc (letting Luffy fight the strongest opponent).
Zoro didn't give up on Sanji either. He felt betrayed when Sanji left without a word. Despite or maybe because of their constant fighting, those two are the best friends on the crew. They are essentially brothers who deeply care for one another but are too toxic to show that openly, so instead they choose to fight. Anyone who doubts this relationship needs to rewatch Thriller Bark and Wano.

You really think Zoro felt betrayed by Sanji?
And if that's true, why did no one else feel this way? They all seemed to understand that Sanji had his reasons, and that he might need their help(true)

I agree with 99% of this video. Where I differ may very well be a hot take: I think Mihawk at some point will begin to respect Buggy one way or another, with the same vitriol as the Straw Hats acknowledging that while Luffy can absolutely be an idiot but also a symbol of hope in the same breath. Buggy as a character made a huge flip with his proclamation in the faces of two people that could very well kill him. And this video aside, I think the live action gave him more parallel to Luffy than I initially realized on my first watch of it. Luffy is the rubber human because no matter how much you knock him down, he'll bounce right back. Buggy says you can slice him, and you can dice him, but he'll always put himself back together. This line coupled with his newfound conviction to REALLY fight for the One Piece I feel will push him to honing his overall strength, both in Haki that we've yet to see him display because he's always low-key been a coward, and awakening his Chop Chop fruit. Idk this could just be the mad ramblings of a Buggy fan but how could one think otherwise after that speech?

I’d even argue that the respect started during Buggy’s speech

So this whole theory is hinged on your opinion, based on nothing really, that Shanks HAS to be stronger. The only 'portrayal' is that they are both swordsmen and used to have sword duels, and yet one of them is universally considered the strongest swordsman, and the other isn't. Yeah Hawkeye doesn't have recent feats, so what, neither does Dragon. Do people think ivankov or sabo is stronger than Dragon, just because Dragon hasn't had a big role to play yet? I thought I'll give this theory the benefit and at least listen, but when you start with 'its abundantly clear X is stronger than Y' based on nothing, it's literally impossible

He just have a huge Bonner for Shanks. This is what happens when you are on that Agenda piece. You forget about Logic and Common sense. Good to see someone in the One piece community finally using their brains.

Some of the things JB said about Zoro's loyalty...Zoro fans aren't going like that at all. 😂

Not quite. He conflates being distrustful to being less loyal, which are two completely different concepts.

@@strykervirus1724exactly! Zoro distrusted Robin because he knew she was hiding something, but Zoro trusted Sanji as a man to do what needed to be done, and that’s why Luffy teased him. JB purposefully misrepresented the nuance here.

I don't think any Mihawk vs Shanks power comparison can be made at all. If their future sight is their power, they could be both op monsters.

It would make sense that they lost mihawk before the grand line before they met yassop or right after. Then Mihawk could’ve just had the duel then, and mihawk couldve just never had the interest to keep going and stayed before the grandline wall. He also has a high noble attitude.
