Mike you are simply amazing. The minimum footprint with a simple game play mechanic but with such emersive detail. You've inspired me to take a stab at a game I've been thinking about for a while. Thank you for such a great game.
Wow! Creating so much tension and suspense with just one page of very simple rules - that's really something! Glad I have discovered your games. This definitely gets on my "must buy" list.
Love the other comments “revolutionised inexpensive gaming” is my favourite. I echo these comments. Excellent work Mike, although I have most of your books I’ve yet to play any of them. Life keeps getting in the way!
Love the look of this - like Hitman Go combined with Rainbow 6! Appreciate you keeping the layout marker friendly too - still my favourite way to play.
I Love Fields of Normandy so much. Now i want to buy this game too. Your system has such potential for zombie adventuriues. I dream that U will make pirates too.
Looking great again Mike! One question: At one point you talked about hostages moving through open doors will close the doors and raise the threat level, but on 57:44 a hostile moves through an open door and nothing happens. Not meaning to fingerpoint, but just wanting to understand the rules a bit :)
Well spotted Arnoud. Apologies for that. Yes, he should have closed the door and increased the threat level by 1. The threat level would have gone down anyway when I cleared the map, but the closed door might well have slowed Beth down a little. Thanks for pointing it out I’ll add a note to the description 🙂
@@mikelambosolitairebookgames But he was the only Hostile, so it would have kept it at 2. BTW, playing my first mission of this game and first of any of your books (I own 3 so far). I'm in the middle of mission one (easy) and the threat level is already at 6. I keep rolling 5s and 6s on hostile turn!
Great game, easy set up and tense gameplay. I call it Burncycle Killer XD. Do you have in mind to develope the systen a bit further? I think it has a lot of potential.
at the last roll of hostile you take a 6 you Forget to avance the thread menace by one, but no conséquence. i m from france i have take this game and ghost from the jungle and the race to bastogne. thank you. when will you make the same but with fantaisie thème?
A roll of 6 only increases the Threat Level if a new Hostile cannot be placed because all six are already on the board. As there were only 2 Hostiles on the board at that time, the Threat Level is not increased. Not sure about a fantasy theme but I might well do it one day 🙂
Hi Mike, I really like your game and hope to get more but I notice I can’t find the hostage rescue on Amazon Canada. Just curious is it out of stock ? Thank you in advance
Sorry it has never been available in Canada and I have no idea why and have never managed to get a reason from Amazon, despite it being available everywhere else and all my other games being available in Canada. It’s a strange one. The best I can offer is that it is available on WargameVault.com for download. Mike
I would love for you to do a fantasy version of this. Rescue the Princess, steal the treasure, assassinate the evil king.... And/or a WW2 version. This system would lend itself very well to act out the "kill the German officers" mission of The Dirty Dozen. 😉
It hasn't. The scenarios are pretty complicated to develop to be honest, so I wondered whether it was worth including a blank sheet of tiles, which is really all I could do. It would be possible to design your own scenarios on a sheet of paper I guess. The 10 included should take you some time to get through!
Mike I hate you😄it's not personal, but I hate you. Why do you keep on producing amazing books? Haven't you got anything better to do than push your products on vulnerable addicts? Each one looking (and playing) better than the next. You have revolutionised inexpensive gaming and I hope to play some medieval as well as my recently acquired Ironclads of the American Civil War over the next couple of weeks holiday. Well done Mike.

Thanks Lee. Hope you get round to enjoying them soon!
What a great game! You never know where and when the opponents appear. This makes each game interesting even after playing it many times.
Thanks. Glad you’re enjoying it 😊

I've watched most of these now. All very clever!
Thanks 🙂
Nice! Felt tense at times, going to pick this up👍
Thank you
Based on the video and your Ghosts of the Jungle which I own, I immediately placed an order for this with Amazon.
Thank you, much appreciated 🙏
Looks like another fantastic game Mike, yep it's available here in the states on Amazon. Looking forward to getting it! Thanks. All the best to ya.
Cheers TBP 👍
Thank you so much for considering colourblind gamers in your design
You’re welcome!
oh man, this looks cool! I like the hostile movement system; the programmed movement with decision points is clever. I'll be ordering this, thank you!
Thanks Steven👍
This design is brilliant. I wonder whether this system is more suited to this kind of skirmish action than bigger engagements.
I think so, although it might work for moving whole armies around a battlefield... especially if trying to depict the actual historical battle.
Hope you enjoy this one folks.
Love these games. Keep up the good work.
Exciting finish! Ordered a copy, this’ll be my first game of yours.
Thank you. Hope you enjoy it.
Brilliant! Hope you're planning a zombie/survival/ mad max type book.
I am now...!!

Thanks. Zombies and pirate hunters are on my radar but not in development yet!
Thanks so much for this. Got my book today and it's very helpful.
Thank you 🙏

When Carlo took his turn aroun 1:03:45 he rolled a 1, 3, and a 6. Couldn't he have done a move, move and then shot the hostile through the window?
Yes, but that would have increased the Threat Level. Probably wouldn’t have mattered but often better to keep it low.

Yes, I'll probably come back to it in due course. Maybe for SAS or some other kind of Spec Ops.

Goddamn… this game is tense😂 next purchase for me I think👍
Great game! If a hostage is rescued, that implies the operator cant come back to the map, right? Thanks!
That's right - they leave to take them to safety! It is important to time your rescues carefully as a result.

@@c5o212ben123 Yes I would think so although I don’t know what that does to shipping cost.

Wish I could but I have no means to produce them. These are printed by Amazon.
