Really enjoyed this. The stages definitely give some sort of cozy vibe, fitting for this channel. Also never quite twigged - 19th century? With bi planes, bazookas and mini guns…
I played the demo available on Dreamcast so much you could play as Gunrock and Falcon haha I'll never forget renting the game for the first time and playing all the cool characters I couldn't before. But I would probably pick Gunrock these days lmao
Powerstone was a very fun unique fighter. I honestly don't remember how I ended up owning it, but after playing it, I can't believe I hadn't heard of it because it was great! & it's a bummer how unknown & underrated it is.
Same here! I feel like my dad rented it for us one time and then we just instantly loved it and bought it. Hoping Capcom don't forget this now they are doing all their fighting game collections
Power Stone was Sould Calibur with light platforming, but futuristic whist still holding pre WW2 aesthetic, and predates the smash bros, power up ball thing.
@@DreamcastEnjoyer I played both Power Stones with friends a lot back when I had a Dreamcast. It would be nice to give them another try to see how they hold up.
Great video! Makes me want to watch the anime for more, too. Never played the sequel, so I hope you also have a chance to cover Power Stone 2 in some way in the future.
@@DreamcastEnjoyer Weird change! Maybe they got it confused, or just didn't want to animate a more complex pattern haha. Also come to think of it I don't think a lot of blokes are blonde either 😂
Valgas makes me think a bit of Sledge from Slap Happy Rhythm Busters. If you make a video on Power Stone 2 character video, i'll be here for it. The Edwardian big dress lady with the goofy dominatrix alter ego is... something. I don't have any particular connection to POwer Stone, but likewise i hope that it and many other series/franchises can get a proper new chance or two someday and make the best of it.
Whoa I just looked up that Rhythm Busters game as I hadn't heard of it and I love the aesthetic! Also agree that he does look like Sledge haha Yea, that's Julia in Power Stone 2 - pretty wild character. I'll definitely be covering the second game at some point
Never understood why they decided to bring Power Stone, games that excell in local versus play, to the PSP: a device that was notorious for having bad local versus play
At least the fans got the arcade version working online with rollback netcode on Fightcade. Until Capcom does something official, that's the best way to play it.
@@RetroEmulationArchive Definitely! I'm in the middle of a house move at the minute so my gaming is limited, but once we are all set up in the new place I'll look into this :)
@@Midori_Hoshi yes, this & jet set radio is coming back, this is too much childhood coming back to me. Lol... I broke power stone 2 cleaning it when it was super hot after owning it for only about a year 😔 I need it back.
Well that crazy announcement happened
I was so hyped when that happened 😁
Thank you for showing love for this same. Power Stone is severely underrated! The game is 25 years old. Geez.
Thanks for watching - it's great to see people still loving Power Stone after all these years 😄
My goodness, power stone is in my top 3 fighters ever and i totally love all the characters. this was awesome.
You should play it. It's on Fightcade.
Thanks, glad you like it!
I cant believe i just searched games like powerstone and someone is reviewing this in 2024
It's still a favourite of mine all these years later 😊

Haha yea, they were definitely taking some liberties with the time period!
Cozy as hell though, for sure
@@K22mah73hg Haha yea true enough!

More power to you for playing Gunrock! I love him but he's so slow I just can't get anything done
great vid m8
Thank you kindly
Power Stone is definitely interesting; you almost never see a brawler get an arcade release, or accumulate such a fanbase

I only know about power stone because of the anime.
Im surprised capcom never threw one of these guys into MvC
I'm surprised so many people know the anime! 😅
Come on Capcom, just bring back my waifu Rouge and her series to live again! 😣✊
I feel that!
They did
This is a well edited video. Didn’t expect this for someone with so few subscribers.
Thank you! Well hopefully if more people like it, the channel will get more subs 😊
Coming here now that the recent Nintendo showcase announced that these games will be playable on the Nintendo Switch.
I'm so hyped for that collection 😎
@@DreamcastEnjoyer I played both Power Stones with friends a lot back when I had a Dreamcast. It would be nice to give them another try to see how they hold up.
Very nice looking into stage details as well. Always will love this series, got me into games in general as a little kid
Thanks - this game just has so much care and attention put into it! I'm the same, I instantly loved it when I first played it

Christ I love Power Stone
Extra points if you ever dig into Chu Chu Rocket ^^
Chu Chu Rocket is definitely on my list at some point!
nice video! nostalgia is golden.
Thank you! Glad you liked it 😊
It'd be great if we even just got a rerelease of the PSP port. just need a resolution update.
At this point I'd settle for that! 😅
Underrated and loved having the psp versions and playing on the go
Both games are a blast! Would really love to see a HD collection on modern consoles so everyone could enjoy it online
Memories
This game always reminds me of being 10-years-old 😊
Rouge thumbnail in a 2024 video? You have my attention.
Truly a man of culture 😚👌
Hails from London, flies a German sounding plane, and (in the Anime) has a Scottish flag arm badge. A true Brit! 🫡
Haha I'm glad somebody else spotted the Scottish flag in the anime!

POWER STONE IS GETTING PORTED TO SWITCH.
I just read this news - so hype! 😁
Great vid, subbed!
Thank you very much! 😊
Anyone else think that Wang Tang says “you’re a wazzock!”?
Now that you've said it, I can't unhear it! Haha
I like it when he goes "LUCKY!"
Fokker was the name of a German airplane
I know, I was just making a very childish joke 😊
Loved this video, very enjoyable!
Thank you! Glad you liked it 😊
I'd be down for a new Power Stone. I'm also shocked that none of Capcom's crossover fighters have ever gotten a Power Stone character.
I know, it's crazy! Falcon costume for Ken in SF5 is the closest we got

It was a really strange choice! Capcom loved the PSP though, they did some crazy unique ports of lots of their big franchises
Enjoyed the vid!
I'm glad you did! :)
5:44 Stings Like a *WHAT*
I know, right! The manual is full of wild stuff like that
I just beat power stone a few weeks ago and they announce it for that collection.
It's gonna be so cool to play online 😊
@@DreamcastEnjoyer can't wait to hate valgas' overpowered bs all over again 😂
Among the dumbest things Capcom have ever done is only re-releasing Power Stone and the sequel on the bloody PSP. For Shame!
That was such a wild move! Imagine the units they would have shifted if they put that collection on the PS2!
@@DreamcastEnjoyer Or any modern console with online play!

Thank you very much 😊

I'll pick Ayame! Let's GO! Can we please organize something on Parsec?
Yo if we can get a tourney going I'd be so down!
But I want to be Ayame too! 😅

Great video! How were you running the game in widescreen?
I captured this footage in the Redream emulator which allows you to upscale visuals and also provides widescreen hacks for many games
Finally PStone 2 is the best do you know about the capcom leak? According to that a new game or port it should be coming out this year or next year.
I did hear about that rumour - really hoping it is true! :D

2026 is a good possibility too. I think a couple of other games on the leaked list ended up getting delayed about two years, likely due to Covid.

There is an anime??
Yep! It was news to me too.
I found out about it a couple of years ago and watched it all, but as a kid I had no idea!
