An UBER RARE Guitar. This is a 1967 Teisco Made Idol Guitar.. It's from the Play Line Series 24. It's a Solid Body Model PL 24 Dual Pickup Guitar. These Dual pickup Japanese models are just not around and especially one that is in such great shape. Idol was a series of guitars that was started by Teisco's president Doryu Matsuda in 1967. The PA Series mostly consisted of hollow body guitars but this is a somewhat uncommon solid body PL-24. Very, very RAR
Our Tech has this one playing great. Nice new set of 10 gauge Dr Ducks Strings! Nice neck angle and angle over the bridge to give it great playability now... No sore fingers with this one...The guitar weighs 7 lbs 13ozs... It has a 24 3/4 inch scale neck and the nut measures a slim 1 5/8 inches... The guitar has a very unique shape. Quite wide. It measures 15 inches at the lower bout and 14 inches across the cool wide wings on the upper bout. Measures 41 inches in total length.
We did a complete check of all electronics...All the switches work now and the pickups are nice and strong ... That being said, the electronics are all original and have probably lived beyond their expected age. The guitar is all original including Tuners, Nut, Pickups, Pickguard, 3 Way Switch, et all.. The guitar plays great and the Teisco Single Coil Blade Pickups sound wonderful. Excellent Garage Band Sound from these unique Teisco Pickups. Very cool!
We even have the original whammy bar..those are always missing...The whammy tailpiece works as it should be be aware, these are not known for keeping your guitar in tune when banging on the whammy bar. LOL... Use it sparingly... There are two holes on the wood look overlaid Headstock. I assume it had a logo of some sort there. I can't find any pics of the headstocks of these guitars to know what went on there, but know it has a couple screw holes. This guitar is in really good condition. It has dings and scratches and a couple areas on the sides with some bangs. Overall, it looks great. It is vintage and used however..
