Its not very often you get a chance to buy one of the Lawman’s personal guitars. Here you go.
This was the second guitar I had ever bought on eBay when eBay first came out. I have played and loved this guitar for well over 20 years now. It is time for it to get to its next appreciate owner.
I am dating this as a 1963. It has a May 1963 neck and body…pots are 1963..It then has a serial number plate of 1964 and the pickup is dated 4/13/64…So this is a 1963 assembled in 1964 with parts from both years. See pics…
I especially love the mellow yellow color the white has become. You cannot replicate that look. With the Tortise look pickguard, this is the color combo you want in one of these. It was Fenders most popular…I love the look!
This fantastic Fender Musicmaster guitar has dings and scratches as you would expect from a guitar of this vintage. The wear is all player wear and not abuse. Its worn in all the right places…see pics...
The only thing that is wrong with this guitar is the previous owner was a little possessive. He etched his social security number into the serial number plate. See pic 12…You cannot remove it…sorry, but its there….
The pickup sounds massive and the action is low and set up great. It has not been refretted and appears to have the original nut. Original Pick guard, tailpiece, knobs, Double line Kluson Tuners and everything.
This is a time capsule that some lucky guitar player or collector will love to own. I have enjoyed for many, many years and will hate to see it go. Check out the pics of this beauty. Its awesome!
As cool as the guitar is, the original case is also fantastic. It’s a Bulwin Case made in CA…The original Logo plate is still in the case..See pic 17…The latches, handle and hinges are all correct and still operating. The red felt lining is still there and in very good shape.
Even the leather neck restraint strap is still with the case..What a time capsule this guitar and case is…

My first guitar was a 1960 Fender Musicmaster in the original Desert Sand color with original case in the same color! Wow! I bought if off a friend’s kid brother for (are you ready?)...$85.00! This was in the early 70’s.To this day, I regret selling it in the mid 80’s. P.S. The guitar was near mint.
I have a 1963 Musicmaster. Mine was done in Fender's Red Mahogany color that was the standard color along with the white in the second part of '63. The red mahogany color was not worth a darn from that era (try to find one). I did a refin and did use the red mahogany color (but did the proper prep so it would it would last). I have the tweed case with the orange lining, all original.

don't be sad about the number on the neck plate. I have a 1960 Musicmaster with social security Number and names of the person that bay it and the person that receve this guitar to first in 1961... I think it's it's cool :D
The "Dakotas" !?!? Don't you mean a Duo-Sonic?
I know you don't like having the social security number on it but it adds to the story of it.
Maybe its numbers to a hidden safe full of more vintage fenders
