In Maidenhead, West London, there is a blocked sewer that needs to be fixed before all chaos, and crappers, breaks loose. Time to call in Paul and the rest of the sewer crew to see what they can do.
Sewers mainly get blocked by baby wipes, cooking fats, condoms and… sweetcorn? A rather unpleasant sight that’s enough to put even the toughest of sewage engineers off their corn on the cob. But for some people these disgusting sights and smells are all part of the daily grind to make sure your lives aren’t overrun by the filth you create. It’s a filthy, grimy and most definitely smelly job, but for these guys… it’s better than being stuck in an office.

Steven Hauser he’s probably happy cause he gets paid a lot. Not sure if drainage cleaners get paid a lot, but seems like they do. Given the fact they clean pipes full of shit, and other shits . Not only that, they risk exposing themselves to gas, and even dangerous bacteria that can get them really sick.
Besides that. Workers like him should be seen as hero’s, and should be appropriated more. Without them, who knows how our sewage would be now...

I really don't understand why he's not wearing a mask. People keep saying that he doesn't because he's used to the smell. It's not the smell to worry about, it's the amount of germs and deadly diseases that are floating around in there thay you have to worry about. I was amazed at how quiet his gas detector was. We were told, shout ''GAS GAS GAS'' as loud as possible, it could be explosive. He is a cheery chap, I can say the late nineties for me were my happiest time, job wise. One more point you can't cover your nose, there are certain smells that you should run away from, GAS GAS GAS and out (and the detectors, contrary to popular belief are not infallible). I miss those days, diving down sewers all over Lancashire and Merseyside
