  • Have you ever had a highlight client sit in your chair and say they want to go back to their natural color because they can’t afford it. They’ll say “I want to go back all brown”. Really they don’t but they feel that is the only option. It’s not. In this tutorial I’ll show you a way to take them “back” without smothering all that dimension that they love and still look good for weeks or maybe months to come!

      Same here I showed her a picture literally almost identical to her results specifically showing that It wasn’t just a bunch of highlights more like this blended look. All she did was put a bunch of highlights and my dark hair she didn’t even do anything to it. My highlights came out blond with an ashy look. I hate it! I paid 350 😫

      @@erikacortez7608 the exact same happened with me, I asked her for a chocolate brown balayage and she did me a brassy blonde highlights and some ash blonde highlights instead of balayage, I am looking awful as my original hair colour is dark brown and I also ended up paying more than what I was promised at the time of appointment. Even I wanted the blended chocolate brown caramel kinda look but she has ruined my hair and another 6-7 months till I'll grow my hair and chop them off. I hate how my hair looks now, I had healthy beautiful dark brown hair and now, it's ruined.

    This is exactly what I wanted and the hairstylist even showed me pics and I chose what I wanted. My hair underneath is dark but all of my hair on top is blonde. I know 'streaks' are out of style but I don't care it's what I wanted. I'm going to go to a different salon and show them this video. I told the girl CARMEL color.

    I used to use Wella color touch developer 6 vol and koleston perfect hair color 5/0 with a quarter of 6/7, rinsed out and conditioned. Then wash next day. (I have gray roots, brown hair. I pull orange. Not afraid of it but don't really like it). Wella has changed there formula and I do not like it. What would you suggest could be comparable? Debating on Redken, Joico or Matrix. Also, maybe a formulation.

    i have naturally dark brown hair and ive just got blonde highlights recently but the hairdresser made too many and now i look too blonde and i dont really like it and idk for the past days ive been crying about it that i dont like it. i didnt tell my mom anything bc i know she will be upset about my behavior. Ive got told i look good but i just dont see it. This is also the first time i ever dye it. And atp it dosent even look blonde but rather yellow. I just feel so lost and idk what to do. How long will it take to definetly fade away? I miss my brown hair and i dont even look like i have highlights i just look blonde and it really dosent fit me. I was thinking to let it grow a little and after some months to dye close to me natural hair. Still any tips? Will this damage my hair more than it is now?

    If my client has grey would 20 vol lift? I am only familiar using shades as a toner not their creams

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation
      @CourtneyBStylisteducation  3 роки тому

      For their shades creams cover plus, you would use 20 on grey, However it won't 100% cover. It "blends" the grey. But looks natural.

      Demis are a deposit only so 10 volume is what I used for this line. Some lines have their own special developer for their demis so it depends on what line your using.

    My hair has level 6-7 strokes because of a faded balayage, should I fill my hair with red before going darker or I can directly deposit the brown I want ?

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation
      @CourtneyBStylisteducation  3 роки тому

      You need to fill the hair with the missing pigments that were removed during the highlight process.

    Went to a stylist to get my hair done . I had asked her for a balayage and ended up with foils and tiger looking highlights to insult to injury. I had asked for a balayage so that I could retain as much as my natural hair color as possible. I wasn't comfortable with my hair and i applied a toner and my natural hair lifted about two shades it's now a nice brown reddish color and blended better with my disastrous highlights. My question is : can i put a box dye over my hair? Will my highlights turn green? My natural hair color is a 1. It's really black 🖤

    Can I fill my bleached hair with a red-orange SEMI permanent dye and then go over with a brown permanent dye? Or do i have to fill the hair with a permanent dye as well?

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation

    Just today I had a hair appointment. I only got highlights once, about half a year ago. I wanted to go darker; I hated the blonde. My mother told the stylist to put in blonde highlights, and I knew better than to object. As soon as I got home I broke down crying in the bathroom bc it was too blonde. You can barely see my natural brown hair now. My mom loves it blonde, and bc she’s in control of my life , even my hair, apparently, I have to keep dealing with this for a few years. I just want either my natural hair back/ more of it than the blonde, or to put in lowlights instead of highlights. In no way am I blaming the stylist- she was doing her job. But my mom is definitely the one to blame.

  • @Hammerzippy

    Copper???? Wait what? I am so confused by the colors used. Also why so many different colors. Wouldn't a single demi in a 6n maybe diluted a touch do this exact same thing ..

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation
      @CourtneyBStylisteducation  3 роки тому +2

      The tones chosen were also to act as filler tones to replace the undertones that were removed when she was highlighted. And she wanted to be a warm tone. If I had just thrown a 6n on her hair, it would have turned muddy and faded faster since the base colors would not have been replaced. And by the looks of it, it worked out well!

    What brand of dye do you use?

  • @jaymmxii7332
    @jaymmxii7332 4 роки тому

    If this is Demi permanent then won’t it all wash out after a few weeks? Wonder what the hair looks like after that.

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation
      @CourtneyBStylisteducation  4 роки тому +2

      All color eventually fades. Permanent lightens the hair before depositing the pigments and Demi does not lighten but the pigments are still deposited by opening the cuticle layer enough for the pigments to slide in, as does permanent. When the hair is porous it is better to use only Demi when going darker on prelightened hair because you only need to deposit. when using permanent, it makes the hair more porous which in turn will result in the color fading faster.

    Is it equal parts for both formulas ?

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation
      @CourtneyBStylisteducation  4 роки тому

      The main reason I don’t normally post the ratios is because the ration I used on my client isn’t a “one size fits all”. Every head is different so every mixture should be according to what your clients hair needs. In this video I mentioned the tones in order of what I use most in the formula to least speak it helps give you an idea. I hope this helps. Thanks for your question and for watching the video!

    • @ferraiolo12
      @ferraiolo12 4 роки тому

      Courtney B Stylist I get that ;)... I’m a hairstylist as well .... it was more so for the toner you used I’m familiar with the 8GI but the 8c made me nervous but it came out beautiful on your client

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation
      @CourtneyBStylisteducation  4 роки тому +1

      I see. The 8GI (yellow) is a pretty iridescent gold tone and don’t think of the 8C as copper. Think of it as orange. My goal was a caramel tone. By adding just a touch of orange to the formula it made my golden tone a touch warmer. I didn’t add enough to make it a “copper” tone. I hope that make sense. Lol.

    • @CourtneyBStylisteducation
      @CourtneyBStylisteducation  3 роки тому

      Why not? I haven't watched this video in a while but when I mix levels, its to reach a level I don't have in stock with the tones I need or I don't want the tone as rich as then level I desire.

  • @HerHomeschoolHomestead
    @HerHomeschoolHomestead 4 роки тому +3

    I would not prefer it. If I wanted an all over color and one gave me this, I’d be a bit offset. I can’t stand two toned died hair on me any longer. And there was still a Bala’, but brown.. this tones is very beautiful, and I’ve had it a million and one times, but idk.. I got a Bala’ just a few months ago, and I regret it. I’ve had my hair the color of the rainbow, but now I just miss my natural medium ash brown. I just personally can’t do two tones, I don’t know why. I used to love it. Maybe I’m just getting old, lol. Unfortunately, this kind of tone will happen with under bleach tones.. so if I were to get my brown back, it will not be one tone, soo.. Subscribing to this channel. Lots of helpful detail. 👍🏼
