I have long been a Denzel fan. (NOT a Hollywood fan). They said Denzel carried the spirit of Malcolm to the awards, and perhaps longer. I blame education and media for keeping the magic and magnetism of Malcolm X from us. I have watched this movie and read about Malcolm X, his amazing widow, daughters since Covid. We were never taught about him in school. About MLK - yes. Not Malcolm X.
Which is kinda funny. Most of the world know who Malcolm X was, but they don't know who MLK was. While MLK told his dream on us who cannot sleep under oppression, Malcolm X's words rang so strongly that it made us wide awake. He made us aware who our enemies are and how can we fix our condition ourselves.
@@allflying3 what makes it even more ironic is they mainly focus on MLK's "dream" in schools, but they don't talk about how he called out the US government and condemned the Vietnam War. The real MLK was more radical than the docile caricature that mainstream America embraces.
