Oh my, that poor Lada shell, it's the most knackered RC body I've ever seen... that RC must have provided hours and hours of FUN!
And as for the Stiletto project, dude that is some forward thinking if ever I saw it! When you first pulled out the G601 chassis I thought "no way is that gonna work!" But as you explained it, it all made sense! Can't wait to see how you get on with that. Enjoyed the video, thanks very much and take care mate. 😎😎👊👊👍👍

As you know, I like a challenge when it comes to building a bespoke one-off custom built bodyshell to fit onto a chassis and I know that the Stiletto might just be a bit far-fetched for some people but I know it will work as I have done one of these cut-and-shut shells before when I built a bubble arched mk1 Escort for somebody else.
I was paid handsomely for it as well so it is time for a new build for my stable of one-offs.....
The Lada gave me 4 years of fun, fun, fun just like the All-agro did when I first built it because it was something that you didn't come across very often.
Here's to the next 4 years + with a new Lada shell that should withstand a proper hammering 👍
The Escort pickup just needs to be built because the other 3 mk1's are lonely without a pickup in their life 😆😝🤣

That Escort van brought back memories, we used to go to raves all over the country in 1992 in one just like that..... I'm sure you can picture the antics that used to go on in that thing! 😂
I can remember one night, or should I say very early morning coming back from a messy warehouse do we got pulled over by the thugs in uniform no less than 3 times in less than an hour! 😂 The third time was by the met on London bridge.... happy days! 😊
I spent the whole journey home in the back perched up on a rusty arch that you could see the motorway floor through!
Those models all look cool man, it's quite bizarre just how well the vintage escorts suit the CWO1 chassis isn't it?

I can't even begin to image how a lunchbox would perform with that much fire power!
Cheers for answering my question about cutting out the windows, and it confirmed my fears.
I've found rolls of professional adhesive window tint film on Ebay for proper windows on buildings, I think it would work a treat on these kind of shells, and means no cutting out of the shell/weakening it's structural integrity.
ProjectcSunbeam(s) is a touch of true genius, totally mad, but definitely genius.... I look forward to seeing that come together.
As for Larry Lada..... now that's the sort of vehicle we need to have going around the figure of eight track..... It fits in very well with the Green Hawks genetics (I'm guessing you must have seen Taylors yellow peril that's missing the entire front end? 🤔 😂)
By the end of eight laps around there, I can guarantee that Lada will end up a cabriolet! 😂 😅

Hello James, I knew the mk1 Escort's would jog a few memories with some folk which is why I wanted to show the RC community which models I had in the fleet and which ones were missing. The van to pickup conversion should be a walk in the park seeing as I've done quite a few Lunchbox pickups and the "Project Stiletto" will be an eye-opener for those that wish to have an alternative bodyshell on their G6-01 chassis.
I have seen Taylor's Yellow Peril minus the front end in one of your videos recently 😝
I shall leave the mangled Lada shell on the chassis until I have cut out the new shell for it.
I usually use coloured vinyl for the windows on my brushless Creations. The chrome vinyl is OK for headlights but keeps peeling when used for windows so I just use gloss black vinyl instead.

Thank you Dirk. I think the Ford Escort mk1 conversion from van to pick-up will be challenging but I'm up for the challenge 👍

Hi James 👋 sorry to hear about your wisdom teeth giving you hassle, hopefully the pain won't last too long and you'll get them whipped out in no time at all.
As you might have noticed from my four part series that I have an eccletic taste of weird and wonderful alternative bodyshells for the CW-01 chassis and I believe the "Stiletto Project" will be something different to look forward to 👍

Firstly - what a tremendous job you did of fitting those bubble arches to the yellow Escort van!
That poor Lada shell really is knackered! I've never had that kind of damage. Perhaps if, instead of your (very cool-looking) steel mesh, you were to reinforce the inside of the pillars with styrene glued on with solvent cement, that might help.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing your Escort puckup. I never knew that a pickup version of the Mk. I Escort had been made.
Lastly...Project Stiletto - yes, yes, yes!
Dying to see it - that's a mod that's right up my street. How do youbcut - craft knife? Dremel?
Hi Del, I thought you might be interested in my "Project Stiletto" RC build 👍
I have watched your videos numerous times so that I now know where to make the cuts so as to make
one solid shell from the two of them although I will need to add about half inch to both roof sections to make it look like one continuous roof. I use a craft knife as it is easier to cut 1mm of vacuum formed ABS as opposed to 3mm of Tamiya ABS.
The Escort pickup is the same size as the Escort van when they were originally made.
@@cw-01creations46 Do you actually remember seeing Mk.I Escort pickups back in the day? I remember vans being commonplace but don't recall seeing a pickup. I have loved it if I had - I wanted to buy my mum's BMW estate from her and make a street-,legal pickup, but she forgot she'd given me first refusal and scrapped it because the man at the garage said it wouldn't pass the next MoT without work. She just heard "won't pass the next MoT" and weighed it in. I'm working on forgiving her.

Hey I did wonder if my name would be mentioned when I saw that battered Lada shell 😬 I think I was a bit more involved in the damage than you were suggesting 🤣 Anyway, yes a good idea to leave the windows in the new one as it's a basher. I have certainly seen and driven those lovely Escorts before. Be great to have a bit more Lunchbox fun this summer. It's been all the big Arrma bashers lately so I need some old school Tamiya fun. Hey that's a great plan with the G6-01 and the cut and shut. Hope that all works out as well as it does on paper. Probably not one to land on the roof over the lump jump! My Green Stickerbomb Van is waiting patiently for you to test out when I get a chance to come and visit along with a couple of new builds that are awaiting their turn as well.

Hey Pete, a wonderful colllection of Ford Escort MK1’s and love the idea of an Escort Mk1 pickup. I was wondering, when you’ve cut the rear off, are you going to use the rear of the Mk1 estate, shifting it forward to form the rear of the cab? The Larda certainly took a real pasting! Interested in how you’re going to cut the Sunbeam Stiletto’s to be configured on that amazing G6-01 chassis 🧐🤔in 6 x 6 format. So nice to the sleepy Maisie 😂😂. Another great video and lots of great ideas, that I’m interested in seeing come to life. Awesome my friend, best wishes to you and Maisie 😊😎😊🖐️

As you know, I like a different sort of RC bodyshell on my chassis so I thought it best to share with the RC community my ideas for building something completely different to what is readily available although I haven't seen any 6x6 Sunbeam Stiletto's lately so I thought I would build my own.
I won't be using the rear of the van shell to form the pickup cab as the rear windows would look quite odd for a cab so I shall use some 2mm sheet styrene to form a new cab and I shall make a new pickup bed for the back of the body as well which means that I will have to butcher the chassis in order for the pickup shell to sit straight onto it and not look out of place.
Well, that's the plan but as you know, I like a challenge 🤣😝😆

@@JF-RC Any advice is greatly appreciated John. The rear of the Escort van is higher than the rear of the Lunchbox van which would make the cab look wedge shaped.
