94 Caprice + 1991 Mercury Cougar 70 Mile Drive - Bad Tires + Blown Head Gasket!
#Oldschool #cars #90s
We put blue devil in a 98 camaro drove it 6 hours to California to a friend and he registered it and it passed emissions he is still driving it 5 years later awesome stuff
When you're from Jersey, seeing that Caprice in your rear view means one thing. STATE TROOPER.
A BIG shoutout to AC👍 Randy, thank you for taking a chance on these old cars and AARing them❗️ This is why a lot of us tune in to your videos religiously; we love watching a regular guy like us taking something we would all have a chance of getting and then bringing it back to life and passing it on to someone else to get some more use out of‼️ This is who you are; please don’t change. All the best to you and yours and please, stay safe🙏 (I still think the Z4 would be a great car for Jessica, hint, hint)
Don't know what you did but this is the first time in over a week the Audio has worked on my primary computer, good job on whatever you had to do, Also glad to see the Cougar made the trip OK and the Caprice I had no doubt would make it. Thanks again Randy for taking care of the Audio issue!
My first car I owned was a 1990 mercury cougar. Ls not the xr-7. Drove that car for a long time. Was a god car. This video brings back memories.
Nice to have a friend like Austin, good idea send them to auction.
It just dawned on me that 1991 was 30 years ago 😳😳😳
Crazy huh?
No problem making it home. It’s a beautiful interior; love this car style...but then I am an old guy with memories of good times in the 90’s
The last gen of GM B-body cars were amazing and it is so weird that GM dumped them in 96, they could have gone on as long as the Panther platform cars. I got a 91 Caprice classic in 2009 and dailyd it till 2020 and put about 60000miles on it, it had about 250000miles when I sold it to my friend who restored it and gave it to his son as a first car, the only thing i did to it was to change the transmission for 1800€. I Payed 4000€ for the car and sold it for 3000€, this was in Finland.
Did they ever have 5sp manuals in those Caprice/Impala's
@@benl4707 Nope, only the 4L60 auto. Folks have put 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions from Camaro's and Firebird's in them thou.
I will miss it. But I'm so glad you saved it from the junkyard. So thank you for saving it.
I broke a shock once on our old minivan, going over the Skyway Bridge that if you went over 35, the whole car shook like hell amd scared the shit out of me and my family. We limped home on back roads and everything. I learned right away that bad shocks and struts will scare you like the second coming. I think he'll make it.
You was 26 in a 25, 16 in 15, 11 in 10, 6 in 5, running stop signs, IT WAS YOU That mowed down the cornfields! ... Tom Waits
You've got the best trailer on youtube! The tilt function is awesome. Also I really like the styling of the Cougar.
That Mercury Cougar reminds me of my old 1993 Ford Thunderbird.
Same platform.
Just found out they had manual transmissions...wouldn't mind one or a lincoln coupe
The audio is better than the mic. I'm impressed. You got me looking for a late '50's car. Very rare and might have to get one from the USA.
You made that dog's day. Looks like he wanted to sit in the passenger seat. Poor Austin.
so nice to see Randy happy ..... way to go Randy... greetings from South Germany.
9:27 Dog like 'bruh yo shit misfiring' haha
Randy, please make a video or two documenting how you sell your cars via IAA. And please push Austin Carr to make some videos to keep his channel alive. At least once a week would do.
A 1991 Mercury with bad tires and a questionable head gasket repair being driven 70 miles home. How many of us would have said what time are you leaving because I'll go with you.
I'd be in that. Trip of a lifetime. Love the 80mph speedo. Overtaking speed and the it maxes out.
I would if I could in a minute as long as there's no chance of getting stuck somewhere in a minute I would!
I love that burgundy interior.
Hate it yet the blue was the worst!
Hey buddy..Long time no watch..Ended up getting COVID 19..In December after Christmas..But being in UK..We where and still are in second lockdown..Hope U are well..I love the Mercury great colour..And I love the..Old school seatbelts..I remember cars..In 1987 and 88..In Miami..When my dad was living..And working there..
18:30. Randy you will make it home. I got faith in you. And busted up cougars.
Early 90's Cougars were nice cars. I got my driver's license in 1993 and my parents had a 91 Cougar that they let me drive. It was so much fun drivng that car.
Best 2x speed videos on UA-cam
I swear that 91 Cougar is... Unkillable! *Okay i gotta get one now*
(Apologies to Derek of VGG) I reckon you have about an 86.2379% chance of a tyre doin' some instant weight reduction and sendin' yer off into the shrubbery like a........wait...... Well I'll be dipped!
Well done, Randy! You're right - a lot more fun pushing the envelope and having a go at getting it there. The tyres were quite audible as to their deteriorated condition and she must have been a right old handful.
Being that she looks more like an 80s car, the old Cougar will still appeal to someone.....who will snip her up, do the work she needs and drive her for ages,..... Its the sort of car that MIGHT get a couple of guys in a bidding war on the day, but could also go for a song....and it wouldn't matter if it was mint condition or not. Good call on that and the Caprice.
Thanks for another great video Randy 👍👍 love seeing the dogs I believe you will make it home Have a good day
Love that Caprice.
Used Blue Devil in a 1996 Nissan XE pickup with a blown head gasket. Got over 350 mi. on it with no more problems. Folks if you are gonna do like Randy and I did, make sure to follow the directions to the letter or you will receive a not so good outcome.
You're crazy dude, speeding with a POS, wobbling all over the road, my man!
I always think the stain on the workshop floor at 2.32 looks like the shape of a dead body 😂 Kinda like a Michelin Man body shape but yano 😂
A friend I know bought a 1991 Mercury Cougar. He got the car from Vancouver Canada and does not have the automatic seat belts. The 1989 models can be imported into the United States and the 199O-1993 models can be imported being over twenty five years old.
That little dog cracked me up
He's a troublemaker lol.
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds yup, cute though
Randy that
Cougar ain'tt misfireing it's got a performance cam 💪💪🤣🤣
The 3.8 was a good motor but you got to do service on them .
They sure do like to blow head gaskets tho lol, personal experience.
One time I forgot my shoes were on car roof so no shoe so I drove back home for another shoe for jury duty. Lol 👍
Great work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
I love the cougar that’s a beautiful cookie don’t see one of the shape anymore take her showing it on video
That Cougar maybe good for one more date by some buyer. 😎👍🇨🇦
Roxy and Co. the local cuteness patrol. Adorable.
It wouldn't be a GM without that check engine light Randy lol, the Cougar surprises me that it stopped smoking and held temp
Not true, I owned tons of gm cars in the 90's, they were good cars back in those days.
I love my GMs but this is true. The check engine light never leads to any problems though. It’s usually for emissions shit.
Great Video Randy! Thank you!
I'm going to miss that car I love the Caprice classic
1like from me for this video. It is more interesting to watch hoopties than the new cars. It has more history and exitment :) greetings from Lithuania
I counted 0-60 14 seconds and 0-65 in 16 seconds that thing will beat your local 488 or hellcat
Had that same 3.8 in an 88 T-bird and that thing ran and went until the body rotted so bad the left rear trailing arm pulled off the body, which was like 200,000 miles. Thing would get close to 30 MPG and handled great. Easy to oversteer it though.
It's old enough it might be lazier to just get another motor in a junkyard. There's one in my local yard now, had an interior fire just enough to burn the cloth off the seats and blow the windows out. I didn't look to see what motor.
In this Randy episode, Randy shows that cougars might have seen the road, and still get you there.
Cant go wrong with a Cougar :D
Badass caprice bro very good!!
Glad you like it!
GIVE the Cougar to Weird Beard !
Damn, if that Merc had halfway decent tires, she would have cruised like a new car (sort of) :)
I swear these old cars can survive a very long time with major issues
Hi Randy, great to see you !
Gary, that's the 1991 cougar that could!!
*randy
That dog i reckon is a dachshund staffy mix looks like my dog
Hey Randy. I believe you will make it the 70 miles drive. Especially the ol' bubble Chevy..
Your comments on the cars changes faster than the weather....
I just started watching the video and I definitely think you will make it
Let us know the sell prices at the auction. I'm interested in knowing what they fetch. BTW, dang 2.59/gallon. out West a buck more.
As long as you're working and having fun, the money will follow you home.
Thanks for the video, Randy.
Thanks for watching!
I ordered some merch! Excellent video! Have a great day!
Drew, I appreciate you man!! For real! You've been here supporting me the whole way!!
You gotta put that thermostat in to verify that it did work.
Dogs are so cute 😁, im gonna miss this place
So, Randy is sellin' that place? I was outta the mix for some time...
@@piwbenzyna i think so yes
Great video Randy! 😎
Wow the date code on that left rear tire on the Cougar is 0109. Nice. 12 year old dry rotted tire.
LOL correct sir! How have you been man?
if you knew how many cars ive drove with worse shake in the wheel with my foot on the floor lol
One of my vans the rotors when hot would warp and I drove it down this long steep hill in Virginia, 1000 miles from home, by the bottom of the hill the wheel was literally going back and forth visibly more than an inch. Once the rotors got a chance to cool off again it was fine. Crazy.
@@CR7659 i had a tire with the wires sticking out i drove for 400 miles home on. gutted it too.
My daily has one now worn to the cord on the inside edge.
That same van with the shaky wheel, the next year the same trip I had to swap the front and rear tires because one had a big bulge in it where it was coming apart and it made the van pull to the side pretty bad.
I hope you made it. Temp never warmed up. Is there no thermostat in the housing?
That car will make it
Another great video randy can't wait to see the video of the new bmw
Randy back at it again
Hey randy love the content
The cougar i think is done!! 70/30 the cougar makes it lol! Surprised the cougar made it!! The caprice i knew would make it!!
16:53 is the temp gauge working🤔
Love how all the neighborhood dogs come to visit you at the shop! I still miss Pete Jr "Jr mint" tho😕
I like you. You have guts like me. I bought two cars off eBay sight unseen 14-16 years ago in Texas. Drove them back to Arkansas with nothing more than girlfriend in her car, my State Farm road service card and a cellphone. No problems. Both 300 mile trip home.
Hell yeah man!! Those are the most fun!!
I can’t believe that engine is holding up as long as it is it’s refusing to die
My parents had a 1994 olds cutlass Cierra we drove it around for about two years before it finally let go of a cylinder and my mom was afraid to drive it after that and they basically sold it for scrap metal when they should have put a new engine in it but if you know them they are the ultimate procrastinators it's just who they are.
Randy: are you not going to have your detail shop, detail the Caprice before running it through the auction?
Cheers
Austin looks like a chew toy to that dog. 🤣🤣
Hey man get a 1995-96 SS impala that would be badass
Yes it will make it just fine
Randy which channel is your favourite automotive channel after yours 😁😁
Bigfoot has some beautiful colors
Throw another bottle of that blue devil in! lol. Do ittt!
You need some grease on that mouse track seatbelt.
I want that caprice so bad
It’s at IAA
Try some Berryman . An Italian tune up
The Dog to funny...
Vice Grip is funny , like the Humor
Aya, I live right off that exist off of Anderson road,.Kinds cool we live so close to each other!
"Vice Grip Envy." You got a bad case of it brother.
Oohhh!!!! That was mean!!😂😂
@@BigSi-xw6wv Maybe, but Randy keeps copying Derek's phrases, "i'll be dipped" and talks about VGG all the time. It's not an insult. VGG has good content, and I am sure he is not the only one.
Hell yeah brother
I think 80% chance you'll make it 20% chance you won't
Red interior rebuilds
I so want that Cougar. Damn.
Randy if I lived close to you an had the money I would buy the caprice but it live in South Carolina good luck buddy take care tell Casper I say hey see you soon good to see you
Im sure it will make it since it's the old time classic vehicle that was made awesome
Even the old intro! :D
Still love the coug.
U should take the 5.0 from fox and swap it in the couger .lol the sleeper from hell
Homeward bound 🙌😎
