Thank you for posting this. Have the same issue on mine and was psyching myself up to do it as I wasn’t sure what to expect but you have shown it’s simple! Legend!
It took me some time because I was trying to video the process, but it is not that hard. Just keep everything CLEAN! I was thinking the oil would come out when the cover was removed, but being elevated on that side and the pump not running it wasn't an issue. Cheers Dave.
@@TreeChangeFarmer Well managed to get some time to do it yesterday and all went without a hitch! That method you showed on how to remount the track also worked very well - first time! Once again - thanks!
ive google that motor in the UK the motor cost more than the machine but on alibaba is $70.. the dust shiels lip are suppose to be out to catch the dust from going in. Thank you for your video
hi loved the vid, you should always put the track on the drive sprocket first , then the front idler will just run on ond not pop like it did with you. your way there can be a chance of stretching the track all the best adrian UK plant fitter
When assembling any part like this you should always use the same oil as a lubricant when putting things together. I keeps the seals from damage while being put on.
Yeah it’s a common issue. Easy to fix. Hardest part is getting the track on and off. Make sure you get the right seal kit for it and don’t listen to the video on UA-cam who uses a automotive seal , the seal will fit but it will fail in no time
When I took the old seal out it was hard and came apart. I thought the hardness may be because it was under pressure from the hydraulic pump but since have read that within the drive motor there is little pressure. Cheers Dave.
On those roller they dont come full of grease from the bearing manufacture what you can do is reove the roller and opem the outer cover of the bearing pack some grease in by hand and replace the covers
The seal gets hard because of high hydraulic temp. Get high-pressure viton seals. Sort out the high temp with a cooler. Do not stall the functions. It will dump oil over the relieve valve and create heat.
You really get surprised at which places they save money in their designs. I have a small 50hp tractor from china and you also have to refill the engine oil through a breather on top of the valve train...
after watching your video I am now confident enough to be able to perform this repair myself. thanks!
I was a bit nervous at first ,but was surprised that it was a quick and easy repair. Give it a shot Chad!
Ive got a seal kit coming from UHI for my UME12, so I'll probably be doing this next weekend. Great video, now I know what to do, 👍👍👍

The motors are EATON but made in China so I still do not know if original seals made in the USA will fit. Thanks for watching. Cheers Dave.

great video , you're very patient and great explanations.
Good informative video, keep up the good work.👍

Good job. I'm thinking you may want to purchase a few more of those seal kits, if one went bad more may go bad.
That's not an oil leak, it's a rust protection system.
Hola amigo , donde la compraste ? cual fue su costo .Suerte.
You only pulled out the centre of the breather. You can pull the larger collar out that you put your funnel in which allows much faster filling.
Thanks Martin for the heads up. Never looked at it that way. Cheers Dave

Great tip. Will try this when next service due. Cheers Dave.
Always lube up seals on assembly. A light grease would be or, in this case, hydraulic oil as that is what it working with.
Do you know the reason why on my mini excavator the hydraulic motor of the drive has thrown off the ring on the shaft three times in a short time?
The outside seal is there to keep the dirt, etc, out of the housing
have done 2 off these and both times replaced with a really deep seal.

That makes a lot of sense. Will look at adding a cooler into the system. Cheers Dave.

When I looked at the newer models, they have added a proper filling point for the hydraulic oil. Cheers Dave
Always replace oring as they suffer the same fate as oil seals. They are cheap enough not to replace them.
this is the trouble with chinese crap--- it dont last long-- a kobelco or kubota wouldnt have this issue, but you do have to pay more
Ok, Captain Obvious.
