Never had an issue with factory mls gaskets on stock manifold or long tube headers. Have also reused more than a few. I do also use copper spray and i do resurface most manifolds. Leaking was never an issue unless a bolt broke. The factory got the gaskets correct from the factory on this one.
i have a 04 gto 5.7 ls1 car is a factory ls6 rotating asemble alum block and ls6 intake.... i here the only thing on the 04 gto that is ... ls1 parts is the ls1 throttlebody and revised 241 ls1 10 bolt heads and i here the blocks are a little thiker than the 97-2003 ls1 alum blocks...and i think gto got a little upgraded cam specks from the zo6 ...i thought that was cool .. i know its heavy gto factory 3,725 pounds ...and the off set drive train the gto got irs rear kills 50 plus hp drivetrain persetic drag loss...some one told me the drive train offcenter like that because left hand right hand swaps to get the legeal to ship to the us ...good cars ...but boy they are good cars but theres alot of things need fabracating .. to fix a few things that should have changed and worked out before the car left factory ..lol
