I know this video is old but I just wanted to say thanks it helped me today in 2020. My 03 Silverado got long tubes installed and that pressed gasket was on there. So today I picked up some mahle gaskets as a replacement much better quality.

rush block get the gm ones for sure! I may be wrong but I think they may now all supersede to the big ones. If not get the big ones anyways in case you swap heads later.
Hey I appreciate all of your advice and I hope I'm not bothering you but UPDATE: I had to order OBX headers since XS was all out of stock everywhere. Anyways, I ordered the GM 12617944 gaskets. Hope this makes sense- i can see a little bit of the flange because the diameter of the hole in the gasket is slightly larger than the hole in the flange. Is this a problem or should I get a gasket (GM 12558573) with a diameter that will completely cover the flange OR is this preferred?
rush block hi no problem. Run the gasket you have, better to have a bigger opening than a smaller one(that you would have to open up). These MLS gaskets are built like headgaskets, you don't need much contact to seal. So long as you do have some contact, it'll be fine. Good luck!

Just bought mahle gasket for my 05 GTO 12$ for both sides my i have kooks 1 7/8th inch headers and the gasket kooks gave me are blowing out.
LS2 GTO unbelievable the header companies give these gaskets when decent mls gaskets are cheap. They must know the gaskets are junk and fail.
would the one you recommended be a good fit for my 5.3 with those XS power headers?
