Great video in 2024. Just did this to the front axle on my Marty McFly Toyota. Got everything greased up and it sounds so much better now.

Great video! Quality footage, great directions, and no b.s. or blabbering make this video helpful and perfect. Thanks!

Those new axles you bought from us might need shimmed oh and by the way we sell the shims you’ll need. Hell of a monopoly right there.. Lol

All these years as a rc enthusiast and I didn't know shimming was even a thing xD it's a wonder I've been so lucky as to not have any go out

I use to beat the crap out of my Yoda axles in 12 lbs truck with tork, I found setting the gears up a tad bit tight seemed to make them last. Even with small gears u still get some gear walk as power is added, By setting mine a bit tight i make up for that .

Hello. When you buy a new axle, do you have to check this when it comes out of the box? Or just if you change the gears?
    Thanks

Good question? I have to change the front axles to more upgraded ones the XVD’s hope it’s just a drop in. I want to change rear but only see whole axle housing for the tf2.

Still looking for some open diffs for the yota II axles. I know there is no room for gears but possibly a ball diff that can be adjusted to limited slip for just the front. A crawler turns much tighter and keeps the front tire from slipping and losing traction on critical spots like getting past a cone, and rides scale on paved surfaces. Rear fully locked, front open will give much better results than both fully locked, in most situations.

you also want to shim the ring gear as they tend to have a bit of slop from factory as well. :) once you do both you can pull a 150 lb man around the house with your tf2 as he sits in a chair with wheels on it. just remove the body and have him set his feet on the tf2 just enough to get traction on the rug. it works with my kit version quite well. :) the old r3 two speed plus a rc4wd 45t grunt monster motor. did i mention i love my truck? lol

I just purchased a brand new tf2 . The red 4 runer. Do i have to take a brand new truck apart thst i paid almost 600$ for to check this stuff? Im hoping you guys over at RC4wd already did that before your customers buy these expensive trucks.
