  • In this video i demonstrate the process of modifiying the variator like ive shown in another video and have talked about before to other navi owners. all you need is a dremel, some dremel bits, and 15-30 mins of time. i saw significant top speed gains when doing this mod from stock and pairing this with other cvt work and pefromance mods can also add even more benifits.

Thank you very much. I plan on doing this mod very soon and your video and description makes it very clear on what to do. I now can move ahead with confidence 😊

No problem, hope it goes well for you. The original variator is better for top speed then aftermarket ones I found.

Good job. That looked pretty clean to me. Better than my effort sometime ago. Might have to try it again next riding season.

ya this was my second time doing it, my first time looked awful but still worked great. sadly there's snow where i live now but it melted. might go for a final top speed run tom to hopefully get proof of my claimed 110kmh

I have heard 120/90-10 tires fit on the rear wheel. About 8% to 10% bigger than stock. That should give you a +10% top speed increase. Having a completely stock bike with your variator mod AND the bigger rear tire should get to 110km/h? Im tempted to buy one and road trip from Kelowna BC to Edmonton AB (1000km trip), if i can get the cruising speed up to at least 100km/h

Does this apply to sliders as well or just rollers?

    • @silas.anderson

I didn’t test the difference for sliders vs rollers as I don’t have the proper roller weights to match the sliders I have.
But I do run sliders with the mod and have since the Navi first released almost and I’ve had zero issues ever with it.

@@silas.andersonI am wondering what is a good weight for sliders if doing this mod ? Is 13 gram sliders going to work with this mod and give a good top speed? I am now an official member of Navi nation with my newly acquired 2022 Navi.

Question for anyone that know more than me, is there any negative effects to doing this such as damage to the motor or anything like that? Thanks

If done right no, first attempt at this I did much worse and rougher job then in the video and it still worked for thousands of miles until I got a new variator for this video. Basically just keep it even as possible and don’t make it insanely thin other then just maybe the edges of the variator so it doesn’t break when spinning. But I’m now at 7k kms on my Navi and it’s been fine and I’ve ran this mod since nearly new when the Navi first released.

@silas.anderson Thanks, bro scooter swap shop just restocked the s23 variator/ clutch kit, and I think that's my next move.

@@huntboy7038 don't get their kits, its over priced imo. their variator is worse for top speed from testing my hem one and the s23 one i have. for clutch just buy a gy6 1255-150cc clutch and clutch bell and you're good. got my clutch for $50 canadian and im still using the oem clutch bell.
try this mod in the future, its not as hard as it looks and i was super worried the first time i did but even without this mod id say stay with oem or maybe go malossi variator but even then idk if its worth the extra money. i just don't recommend the s23 personally.
