They have the option to work easy jobs in retail for less money but they choose not to. Oh yeah, those tags? That's fake as fuck. Dental care? LMAO, China has very cheap dental care. It's clearly propaganda made to target Americans. You guys should be very very skeptical of any information online you see about countries the CIA and US state department doesn't like.

I disagree, the pricing is perfect. They just need to share the wealth with their employees. No need in the world for ANY shirt to cost 59.99 like every "wholesome" shop I walk by. Where what you own already or buy second hand. So then don’t buy fast fashion. SHEIN cuts corners and contributes to WAY more waste because the clothes are made out shit materials. @@alyssacole7285 I do the thrift store too..But they are priced pretty high sometimes too. China literally knows this, Its like a supply and demand issue..esp as the economy gets worse.
1). They have nowhere else to go, and need the money to survive. Work over there is very, very limited. 2). As the other commenter replied, sadly, many of these workers *are* forced to stay. There are literally *camps* full of "criminal detainees" who are made to work for these companies and *aren't even paid* so it's literally slave labour
1) lots of people don’t go to the Gao Kao in China which is the final university exam and basically decides your future. And many reported child workers don’t go to high school because it’s no longer mandatory and their family is likely struggling 2) even though it’s very forced Labour , the people need these jobs. And the schedules are somewhat like high school schedules in China, they all have extremely long hours. And many high schoolers sleep anywhere from 4-6 hours. However most highschools get half to one day off every weekend and summer and winter break. However the workers need jobs. 3) I took a look at the living conditions and it’s pretty standard for factory jobs, it also looks pretty similar to some public high school living quarters. So the living conditions are considered pretty standard. 4) $556 US dollars a month is enough in China. It’s like 4000 rmb and since currency exchange exists and prices in China accommodate to Chinese salaries, it’s pretty much enough and a little extra for you to have the necessities and some extras.
I get this is bad but some people around the work like uk rn are having a crisis withe money and cost if living and can only afford shien mostly u less big brand stores do a sale or discount
Maybe people with low incomes, struggling to get-by, etc, should - make-do with the clothing they *already have* because new clothing is a *luxury* - if your existing clothes are damaged, *mend them* and if you can't do so yourself, ask a friend - Use charity shops, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc to get second-hand clothing - learn to sew, and make their own clothing - not be so obsessed with *fashion* and be happy with their "last season", "unfashionable" clothing, because, again, fashion is a *luxury*
Yes we are all familiar with this problem... But you have to ask yourself why is it just selfish greed?.. is that why we allow this to go on? Maybe in some cases but I think for majority of corporations .. very honest wages.. for their employees... But unfortunately to pay those Fair wages you would have to include abiding by EPA laws.. applying workman's compensation.. employee tax chemical makeup... But that is just the tip of the iceberg applying these regulations would cost billions of dollars for a corporation to run legitimately... Do you have any idea what just electric bill would cost for a 4,000 ft manufacturing building in Northeast? How about the heat bill?.. fuel packaging distributing shipping... Would make a dime... And would be bankrupt in the third quarter.. possible solution for starters would be it to set a flat 10% tax rate.... Even with that it would be literally impossible to compete... Who is countries like India and China to name a couple with no APA laws or any regulations imposed.. sadly to say not going to happen the American way

You have to keep the cost of manufacturing the goods down. Low enough to pass the savings on to customers. If you dont, you can't make a profit and you go out of business.
The only fashion anyone can afford is fast fashion let's be no one makes enough to pay over a hundred or two or three hundred dollars per article of clothing which can be as how expensive on average it would be to produce one thing for person. For a nice outfit for a very basic and even something like a t-shirt you could still be looking at a good price maybe even around something like$60 for whoever made that shirt to actually make some profit

A valid point, but of course you are forgetting disabled people who cannot leave their home, for instance, and of course what if you live in the middle of nowhere and only have a basic little local shop that sells stuff like milk and bread but nothing else? The high quality fashion is also doing this dont get them fool you with the price
I'm not going to say anything other than look at American laws on import and Shein ripped off some powerful designers. No laws against ripping off designers at import. Use your brains and think for yourself for a hot second.
2$ for a tshirt is a good price. Too good 😅 waaay to good.
If you realise how full automatic modern machinery works. You would not say its not possible. It is. Jalousy will not take them down
Before shein existed, they were working horrible situations. Shein has exploded welfare of chinese people. Ask them and go inside factory, then talk 😂
dude almost every online company have child labor and bad working conditions. there’s no possibly way to buy clothes without harming something.
Where what you own already or buy second hand.
So then don’t buy fast fashion. SHEIN cuts corners and contributes to WAY more waste because the clothes are made out shit materials.
There is no need to buy new clothes you can always buy clothing second hand. You can buy clothing manufactured in countries that have labor laws.
@@mayad842 literally every company does that its pick your poison at this point. you can’t 100% make sure everything you buy is made with good morals.
@@mayad842 i am not going through all that effort just to please people who i don’t even know. when every company does it, there’s no avoiding shit like that.
@@mayad842 you can go cry about it because you cannot stop people from buying from evil companies.
@@gothmemph yep so there is absolutely no point in trying to live a more ethical and sustainable life. We should all just give up.
When there are so many opportunities and ways to buy things second hand, and you know people are being treated as slaves to make your goods. To not try at all to be more mindful is cognitive dissonance.
I am not saying it is people in counties like America’s fault that capitalism is unethical or that we can completely avoid it but that doesn’t mean we just give up.
Also listen many clothes are made in china and third world countries, but for fucks same SHEIN has been known to have clothes with cancer causing agents and fall apart and fall out of style so quickly what is even the point in buying them. Like there is nothing from SHEIN you need to live or be happy. It is manufactured waste.

Alas, no. Did you forget the part where God said He would no longer interfere with humanity, and we were given Free Will?
The people responsible for these conditions, will, however, be Judged, when their time comes...
😢
Solutions needed. Where else does everyone shop online? Who doesn't use poison to make their clothes?
?
Idk I am low on money and i was hoping to buy from shein but after seeing this idk where to buy clothes other than thrift stores. Online clothing thrift stores?
@@alyssacole7285 I do the thrift store too..But they are priced pretty high sometimes too. China literally knows this, Its like a supply and demand issue..esp as the economy gets worse.
I use eBay and charity shops, and I've been learning how to sew so I can make my own stuff, too.
why dont the workers resign? nobody is forcing them to work
no but they are, its china... they have camps...
And many reported child workers don’t go to high school because it’s no longer mandatory and their family is likely struggling
2) even though it’s very forced Labour , the people need these jobs.
Killed the South African clothing industries.
I get this is bad but some people around the work like uk rn are having a crisis withe money and cost if living and can only afford shien mostly u less big brand stores do a sale or discount
Maybe people with low incomes, struggling to get-by, etc, should
- make-do with the clothing they *already have* because new clothing is a *luxury*
- if your existing clothes are damaged, *mend them* and if you can't do so yourself, ask a friend
- Use charity shops, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc to get second-hand clothing
- learn to sew, and make their own clothing
- not be so obsessed with *fashion* and be happy with their "last season", "unfashionable" clothing, because, again, fashion is a *luxury*
Who is countries like India and China to name a couple with no APA laws or any regulations imposed.. sadly to say not going to happen the American way
I feel about the muslim slaves

My SHEIN haul just came in 😎
Why would you say that so proudly on a video that shows how unethical the company is and how people are *suffering* to make those clothes?
This is one job that should be replaced by machines

POV: richest communist economy
its horrible when u also cant afford products better qualoty. I just bought a bag for £14,jeans for £10, and another pair of trousers for £20. I cant imagine how horrible the workers have it, Yeah, i always feel guilty, but its cheap. The bag anf trousers were together, the jeans were not, i hope that when im older i never put people in these horrible conditions. Ill defo pay fair price. Also, most people usually also go for the free shipping. With these prices tho? NAH
But yeah, im very careful with ejat i buy, if i do choose to buy from shein, and its rare for me to even do this since i buy things that i
will at least last a few years. I usually change my bag around 2 yrs, but if i start easrnung more, i would likely gwt smthing that wil last longer
You have to keep the cost of manufacturing the goods down. Low enough to pass the savings on to customers. If you dont, you can't make a profit and you go out of business.
You're saying you think that this is justifiable?!
@@IllisiaAdams What do you think?
The only fashion anyone can afford is fast fashion let's be no one makes enough to pay over a hundred or two or three hundred dollars per article of clothing which can be as how expensive on average it would be to produce one thing for person. For a nice outfit for a very basic and even something like a t-shirt you could still be looking at a good price maybe even around something like$60 for whoever made that shirt to actually make some profit
I try and shop at thrift stores more cuz I hate supporting places like Shein, I know its very inhumane what they do to people over there..But its so hard to not want to buy decent quality stuff at the prices they have..Even thrift stores here in the US will cost more than something new at shein so that is like your options. old used clothes that are priced the same as Shein
eBay, charity shops, thrift stores etc are your friend.

Your title doesn't match the content. What horrific conditions were proven? How were they proven? You mention poor pay and hours. That's tragic, yes, but not horrific. There is no horror involved. Words have meanings.
18 hour work days at 5 pence an hour with only 1 day off a month is horrific. I don't know what world you live in.
Are you dense?
Remember when people used to read books and understand the possibility of tongue in cheek writing without a big SARCASM sticker at the bottom for clarity? Calm down you reactionary fools.
if you only have 5 hours off work daily for 29 days straight, you're not seeing your children, you don't have a life, you are not getting anywhere near enough sleep and you don't have your most basic needs met. I would say that it shocks and disgusts me and there is probably plenty of fear involved for someone living that life.
The fact that this is what you chose to criticise is very strange.
You reeeeally need to work on your definition of "horrific"...
So what ? More perfect Union ? U guys authority not in China and they make better in China not US , material etc . They have to so they could bring China economy up
Chinese goods are bought for the low price, not for the quality.

Bring China economy up you say!! Yet is is a communist dictatorship..so the majority of people are not being helped esp if they are still working in conditions like this, or worse yet china is using prison or slave labor. so not only are most people not being helped, they are also destroying their own environment, But the Blame is not solely on them, it also lies on us because we fuel this machine by how we spend our money.
prime now....If a person wants a new product immediately then they should touch grass and go to a store
A valid point, but of course you are forgetting disabled people who cannot leave their home, for instance, and of course what if you live in the middle of nowhere and only have a basic little local shop that sells stuff like milk and bread but nothing else? There are plenty of reasons a person would need to shop online instead of going out. However, I do wish people would, indeed, go out more, if they have local shops that can provide. #shoplocal, people! Support your local economy whenever you can, and not the big, soulless corporations like Amazon.
@@IllisiaAdams
Well I am not talking about the disabled people that can't. Or the rural people that can't. I am talking about the people that can. Most people that live near many stores but still buy online are usually either racist or lazy
@@deeznutz7064 I'm sorry for my potential naivety, but what has racism got to do with it?
@@IllisiaAdams
A racist that lives in an ethnically diverse city or state would be reluctant to go to a store and see people that don't look like him or see relationships that he doesn't approve of. He would hate to see people that don't look like him that are intelligent or have a great work ethic because then it would prove that his racist view of these people being lazy or stupid is wrong. He would see people that don't look like him buying products instead shoplifting thus proving that most of the people he doesn't like are not criminals
