the lyric where he says, “but i know one day i’ll be with you so we can continue loving each other” breaks my heart because he has passed away now :( i hope he’s with his mom now so they can continue loving each other
Actually, the song it is about his mom, but not in a loving way. His mom dropped him into an orphanage all of his childhood and when he was older he escaped to the city to start his career as a little singer in some bars and night clubs. Then he was in jail to be at the wrong place at the wrong moment and he was discovered as a great singer at jail for a very famous female singer that was there for a Charity event. In all this time, his mom was not even knowing where her son was, and didn't care either. By the moment that he met her again, many years later, he was all great and famous and his mom knew, that what ever she did to try to fix things with him where beyond the effort. Her son was to great to reach it. At the end, she was not even trying to fix things with him, and she died with all this regrets and pain and guilt bottled into her heart. He wrote this song as a way of claiming for a love that his mom never even made the effort to give him and a way of say "I forgive you, please love me and let's try to make this work".

To be fair it should be said that Juanga's mother did not abandon him at all. She started to work after Juanga's father died. So, Juanga's sister Virginia took the responsibility of caring for her 8 brothers. She was young, so it was very difficult for her. Virginia nurtured Juanga until the age of 7 years old when he was older enough to be enrolled at school. Thinking in his own safety, Juanga's mother enrolled him in a boarding military public school, where he lived until the age of 15 years old. His mother was a strong and cold-minded woman, mainly as a result of the hard situation she faced. She was a full-day maid in a rich house but her salary was very low, and she had to support 8 children by herself. Because of his amazing expressions of love for her mother, I think Juanga recognized that she gave her best effort to support him and his brothers and sisters.
I did not know this. Damn...damn....I can't even begin to imagine his life, chasing the approval he never got, yet, his love for her was untainted, as hers should have been for him, maybe it was, I'd like to think of a reason on her part to deprive him of her love, while still loving him.
This is so incorrect!!! Abandoned she did not, the whole family agreed due to poverty he should go to a boarding school, and they kept in touch. He bought the house she was a maid at and retired her into a beautiful life. He loved her very much, they had a great relationship as adults. You can visit that mansion in Chihuahua, Mexico. The staff can all tell you how loving he was to her, and all of them
Dude, I'm 35 yo man I also cry with this song and it's ok. Juan Gabriel wrote this song a little after he lost his mom, It is absolutely ok to feel what he was trying to transmit. Greetings from Mexico's City, man!! PS. You've got a new sub from México
This song always hits hard. He wrote it for his mom when she passed. It is considered a powerful and emotional song because of its lyrics, which express the deep pain and longing one feels after losing a loved one, particularly a mother. The song speaks of the enduring love and memories shared, and the sense of loss and emptiness felt after their passing. Additionally, Juan Gabriel's emotive vocal delivery and the song's melody contribute to its ability to strike an emotional chord with listeners. It is a true classic of latin music.
Hey man, thank you for covering this song. Life has no language or culture . We are all the same. We love our parents. We want them forever. Reality is different
It's a beautiful song. It's played at every funeral as a traditional goodbye for our loves ones. That's the last song we sing to our ones before taking off into the sunset. Juan gabriel left us with the most iconic song. R.I.P Juan Gabriel
My dear Monroe, as i watch you reacting to Juan Gabriel’s rendition of Amor Eterno, my heart goes out to you! I can see and feel in my soul how deeply this is affecting you…You are being held by loving arms, hugged tight…heart to heart…💞💖🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
It is almost impossible not to cry to this song whether you understand spanish or not, it is ok to cry to because it is what you are suppose to do for the song and his interpretation took the song beyond words. My mother cried so much when he passed away, she called me balling her eyes out because it was and still her favorite artist. Thank you for your appreciation of music
I lost my dad almost 5 years ago. He'd been in the hospital a while after a massive heart attack and we almost lost him then. It looked like he might make it, but he didn't and he passed away a week shy of his 65th birthday. This song tears me up because it makes me think of him. The hardest part of it is not being able to talk with him, hearing his advice or words of encouragement when I need them, or being able to tell him about his two grandsons and they things they accomplish. Your reaction to this song is very genuine and it's hard not to cry when you know what the song is about. God bless.
Lost my dad 11yrs ago and I cry like a baby everytime I hear this song. He was my everything and I cant let go of how much I miss that man. I still wait for him to walk through that door. This song hits different once you lose a parent.
Much love, Munroe. Much love for your father. And thank you for this reaction. I think you'll be incredibly and positively surprised at how much this anthem means to a lot of people, especially anyone that has lost their mother. Again, thank you.
Your reaction was completely heartfelt. When you removed your headphones the first time around, I completely lost it. I cried through the entire rest of the video just watching your eyes. I don’t believe any reaction video has ever touched my heart the way yours has. I’m so sorry for all of the heartbreak you have gone through. Sending you prayers & divine white light🙏🏻🌹
6:42 I see you fighting the feeling mate, keeping those tears inside, let them out, nothing wrong with that....and yes, this song makes anyone cry. Juan Gabriel was amazing.
The song is about the loss of his mother. He lost her at 26 years old when he was becoming famous. He was raised in an orphanage since 4 years old because the mother could not take care of him and he met her again during his late teens.
NOOOOO! Please, people.... mostly if you are mexican, stop spreading this LIE. Please do your research before spreding wrong stories. True Story of Amor Eterno: He wrote it for Rocio Durcal (singer and JuanGa formerly friend) daughter. Rocios daughter drown in an Acapulco beach, thats why you listen him singing "you are the sadest memory of Acapulco" and "I know i could have done more for you" because i believe Rocio was present when she drown. This song was first sang by Rocio, but then sang by JuanGa because he wrote it so he owns the song too. So.... this is an even sadest song... of course is dedicated to Mothers love, but not to Juan Gabriel moms, his mom abandoned him.
@@dmlinares ok, but the story of the song is still the same: he wrote the song for Rocio Durcals daughter not his mother, if he latter sang it for his mom, great!
Pain and tears are the door to healing ! My Latina abuela always used to say , the people you lost need to hear you cry , so they can know they will be missed and loved

Brother, I hope your Pops is better now. Most positive energy for you and your family. This song has been very personal to me since last year after the passing of my mother. Expressing what you feel internally, by talking and/or crying, could be therapeutic. Once again, my respect and good vibes to you, brother.
This song is so deep and touches your soul. We men will always have spot in our hearts for our mothers and one way to demonstrate that love is by crying so I respect you for demonstrating your emotions. Great reaction and there is a lot more songs from Latino singers that i’d love for you to react to.
Most people that know this song, cry every time we hear it. We play it at every funeral so it holds such deep meaning for all of us 💙 Thank you for sharing your real reaction to this. I had to hear it for 3 family members this year. Last time was in October so it’s super fresh. I needed this
Juan Grabiel would do this to you brother.... I done walked out of parties when they play this song especially if I'm drinking 🍸. This song will rip me into pieces emotionally 😪 💔. The cry in his voice the emotion the passion he sings it with and his amazing band of musicians . Juan Grabiel was amazing he knew how to hit the heart of his fans and that's what made him into the legend he is today a global phenomenon. Makes me happy you get to enjoy such beautiful music 🎶. God bless bro and I hope whatever you're going threw God is there healing your pain . 🙏
When it comes to music there is nothing like Mexican singers like Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernandez. You might not understand what they are singing but trust me it touches the deepest part of ur soul. We sing with passion and nothing else matters!
His songs are DEEP. Some are fun. This one is PURE SADNESS and real for him.. *Memories of my younger years as a kid, even as a young adult till now. These songs move the soul* I grew up listening to this song while my Nana made flour tortillas before the break of dawn..I didn't know at the time that this song was Juan Gabriel feeling after his mother's death, his mother abandoned him I believe when he was very young, only 4 yo, He NEVER gave up on her after finding her. This was one more effort in hopes his voice reaches the afterlife to her. I hope they're together now and she's holding him closely. *"Hasta que te conocí"* is the biopic of his life. Much respect for him doing the film. *RiP Juan El Divo De Juarez* EDIT: thank you world for taking interest in his songs. His life was complicated and although he had love of millions he sought the love he needed only from his mother.
As much as we love and respect our fathers, our mothers ran the house. This song is played at every send off for our amazing mothers in mexico and not a single person is able to leave dry eyed.
I'm glad that you got the lyrics because without it the song won't have the emotional passion that come with. I can't wait until you do Juan Gabriel again
I laugh in a good way because I noticed when it hit you so deeply. He's beautiful you are beautiful. There are lots more of us than the bad ones. We might seem meak, well we are not
Thanks for the love for Juan Gabriel. This song gets me every time. No matter how many times i hear it lol. I’m shocked how many react to this song and don’t feel a thing. Like wow lol. He was a true 🐐 💯. He touched everyone’s soul. Gone too soon. Legend for sure! Rip.
Hello 👋 He wrote around 1800 songs and This one was dedicated to his mom he is a good singer and interpreter And there is another service from him which is Abrázame muy fuerte Life from Bellas Artes if you want to check it out
Yes, this song was written by him in the 70's following his mother's passing in "74" but, the song wasn't released until 10 years later. In the intro of the song when he's dedicating the song with so much love and respect to all the mothers that came to see him ( he's also says especially to all the mothers that are a little bit further away from me meaning to mothers that have passed away). On minute 6:26 on your clip & lyrics he sing "And it is that you are love of which I have the saddest memory of Acapulco". Acapulco, Mexico when he was performing he received news of his mom passing. From start to finish it's lyrics are beautiful no matter who sings it. And it's a dear song we hold close to our hearts for anyone whom has passed, especially for our mothers whom have passed. Thank you for taking the time to share this song around world..🙏Stay blessed.
Trivia Fact about this song: Juan Gabriel (RIP) wrote this for his good friend and fellow Singer Rocio Durcal (RIP), she was From Spain. She lost her young son in a drowning accident that happened in Acapulco while on vacation in Mexico. he modified his lyrics to pay tribute to the passing of his own mother and it makes me cry EVERY time I hear it -- Go down he Juan GA rabbit hole -- you will NOT regret it
It is a completely normal abd natural reaction to Juan Gabriel's songs. Especially THIS one. Juan Gabriel is a Mexican leyend! I grew up listening to him and I cannot believe how I just took it for granted. I never truly stopped to listen closely and pay attention to his music until decades later, years later after he died too. And now it is so obvious to me that this man had a God given gift! He made people FEEL his music deep in their souls. He had the ability that transcends language barriers to make people cry. There is only ONE Juan Gabriel. 🙏🏼
I’m sorry for what you’re going through with your pops. This is a very special song for Mexicans and all Latinos. It has essentially become the anthem for every funeral. Thank you for taking the time to review a song that helps us all grieve in our own way.
That, English speaking folks is a clear representation of the beauty of the Spanish language! One if not the most romantic language in the world! Spanish is so rich! Proud of my roots and language! Wouldn't trade it not even for all the money in the world! Juan Gabriel was a gift to the world and his voice is so rich and nostalgic, it would even make a dog, cow etc cry non stop! Lol...
Muy bien dicho
Hey man, thank you for covering this song. Life has no language or culture . We are all the same. We love our parents. We want them forever. Reality is different
If you dont cry listening juan gabriel you are not human
It's a beautiful song. It's played at every funeral as a traditional goodbye for our loves ones. That's the last song we sing to our ones before taking off into the sunset. Juan gabriel left us with the most iconic song. R.I.P Juan Gabriel
Juan Gabriel fue un regalo de Dios para la música. El mejor ARTISTA de latinoamerica.
There is another great song from Juan Gabriel 🇲🇽, its title is "Abrazame muy fuerte" from Bellas Artes theater in 2013
It is almost impossible not to cry to this song whether you understand spanish or not, it is ok to cry to because it is what you are suppose to do for the song and his interpretation took the song beyond words. My mother cried so much when he passed away, she called me balling her eyes out because it was and still her favorite artist. Thank you for your appreciation of music
Music has no boundaries, when u feel it know that it is real,
GRACIAS HERMANO❤
This song breaks everyone. Because its sang from the pain in his soul. Which MAJORITY of singer don't do anymore
Great reaction dude, even the toughest cries with this song hahaj much love from Chile.
I want to say how beautiful it was to watch you release emotion … I appreciate your humility and honesty.
This song always makes me want to hug my parents so hard forever and never let go. Love your reaction bro and sorry for your loss.
6:42 I see you fighting the feeling mate, keeping those tears inside, let them out, nothing wrong with that....and yes, this song makes anyone cry. Juan Gabriel was amazing.
“It’s about to get deep”…you have no idea…the GOAT of delivery, essence and performance…a true musical talent…TFS your reaction.
Yes, but he forgave her and they became close later until her death. His sister was really the mother figure he knew and he loved her as a mother.
@@dmlinares ok, but the story of the song is still the same: he wrote the song for Rocio Durcals daughter not his mother, if he latter sang it for his mom, great!
@@iotorito Can you cite sources? I am as curious as you. I do not have source, only what I've heard.
Pain and tears are the door to healing ! My Latina abuela always used to say , the people you lost need to hear you cry , so they can know they will be missed and loved
Animo amigo esta canción nos ayuda a reflexionar!
I remember my father a man I never seen cry broke down instantly when he saw my grandmother on her bed sick and dying. After the day she passed away he would play this song in her memory. I cry everytime I hear it. Love and miss you grandma
Beautiful reaction for an amazing song.
20 years after my moms death, I still cry. I remember when she would cry to this song when her father passed. Now I do the same for her. 🕊️🕊️🕊️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🪽🪽🪽
No worries man everyone that listens to this songs sheds a tear 🥲
I recently lost my little sister! This song helps me grief!!! It just makes it easy !❤
THAT'S IT....that's the right reaction to this song. Let it all out dude
I love your reaction so much. You felt what the song was meant for. His mom abandoned him as a child but he still loved her and it hurt when she passed. Your reaction is what all of us who grew up listening to this song. It makes everyone cry and it's used a lot at funerals. Real men cry!
That song gets me every time
Always brings back sad memories
Your reaction and feels is exactly what it’s felt when listening to this song. Juan Gabriel puts it all out there and we can feel it/relate.
I love seeing other non Hispanics being interested in our culture it makes me happy to show them what our culture and music and foods about cuz it truly does unite people and it brings down barriers between races and beliefs and brings unity love to see this
Brother, I hope your Pops is better now.
Imposible no llorar con esta maravillosa interpretación 😔Puro Sentimiento❤️
I hope your dad gets better. Hugs from Texas!! Wish you the best for you and your family.
These songs move the soul*
I grew up listening to this song while my Nana made flour tortillas before the break of dawn..I didn't know at the time that this song was Juan Gabriel feeling after his mother's death, his mother abandoned him I believe when he was very young, only 4 yo, He NEVER gave up on her after finding her. This was one more effort in hopes his voice reaches the afterlife to her. I hope they're together now and she's holding him closely.
*"Hasta que te conocí"*
is the biopic of his life. Much respect for him doing the film.
*RiP Juan El Divo De Juarez*
EDIT: thank you world for taking interest in his songs.
His life was complicated and although he had love of millions he sought the love he needed only from his mother.
As much as we love and respect our fathers, our mothers ran the house. This song is played at every send off for our amazing mothers in mexico and not a single person is able to leave dry eyed.
I can tell you lost someone important stay strong my brother
I'm glad that you got the lyrics because without it the song won't have the emotional passion that come with. I can't wait until you do Juan Gabriel again
What an honest reaction.. Best energy out to you.. Stay up bro
Todos quedamos llorando simpre con esta canción.. 🥺
Big massive hugs to you beautiful Marcus so sorry for your losses prayers for lovely dad truly sorry love you too bits God bless x
I’m so grateful for UA-cam in allowing different cultures and music be exposed to different people. Thank you.
I laugh in a good way because I noticed when it hit you so deeply. He's beautiful you are beautiful. There are lots more of us than the bad ones. We might seem meak, well we are not
This song will break down any person.
God bless you and your family kenfolk. Check out more Mexican music...it's fire! Nothing but A1 singers
Rip.
By far the most real reaction I've seen to this incredible song.
On minute 6:26 on your clip & lyrics he sing "And it is that you are love of which I have
the saddest memory of Acapulco".
She lost her young son in a drowning accident that happened in Acapulco while on vacation in Mexico. he modified his lyrics to pay tribute to the passing of his own mother and it makes me cry EVERY time I hear it -- Go down he Juan GA rabbit hole -- you will NOT regret it
What happened Mexico!! You had such great artists and music, Juan Gabriel as one of them. Now we have reggaeton!!🤮😡 Reggaeton is perverted and trash.
You should react more music videos from Juan Gabriel... Hasta que te conoci.
I’m sorry for what you’re going through with your pops. This is a very special song for Mexicans and all Latinos. It has essentially become the anthem for every funeral. Thank you for taking the time to review a song that helps us all grieve in our own way.
Great Reaction. Its a very beautiful song. Chokes me up every time
My man fighting to hold it together. Just let it go and embrace the pain
Lol... Bravo! 👏👏👏
God bless you bro ❤️ I understand you, we all here for you and everything. We may not know eachother, yet we are here for the support brother. I hope all is well. Can only hope .
Gracias por reaccionar a JG con esta canción. El compuso más de mil canciones pero está
Me parece la más bella. Un abrazo a mi Paisano de Juárez hasta donde esté. ❤️👍🏽👏🏽🇲🇽
Munroe , yes Juan is singing about / to his mother who's eyes have already closed .
Emotions are God given for us to be able to express ourselves in true form . It's OK for us men to cry. 25 yrs. and I still cry for my mom. Peace Brother!
Sending prayers and blessings to you and you fam 🙏
Other than Mexicans, I think the only other group of people that can be really touched by this song is black Americans because of the great amount of love they have for their mothers .
Im glad i had a short and straight to the point (not 15-20 min video of reaction), and honest reaction. Plus respecting the lyrics (the meaning of the song). You deserve your subs and more. Like and sub bro 😎
Hola podrías poner tus comentarios en Español por favor ,para saber lo que estás comentando
i hope pops is doing better. i know i’m late. all love man. bless you and your family
Hi I’m just going to tell u he’s upset because his mom left him in a orphanage as a baby then he had a very rough life becomes a singer finds his mom and I think about a year after that she passes his mom and him had a love hate relationship the mom was very mean to him for his life style IMO. But he’s passed as well
this man wrote over 1,000 songs which many other artist became famous over. We sadly lost him. He is a world wide gift
It hits you right in the soul isn’t it? Such a beautiful song, that’s what art is meant to do
Yes man, this song also makes us cry
My best friend just passed away, I miss him so fucking much
He wrote this for his mom who passed away. It has since been adopted by every hispanic household to commemorate a loved one's passing. Instant tears. Its a gorgeous song but heartbreaking. Juan Gabriel is the greatest icon and a giant in his field. Prolific songwriter, powerhouse vocalist and national treasure ❤
It’s not about the lyrics. It’s the emotions! This was a fantastic reaction!
nah
I’m Latin American. This is essentially an anthem for any loved one’s funeral. Even the most macho man in latin america will cry listening to this song
This is my first time watching your reactions, I love this song and I believe it makes everyone that has feelings to move our hearts since we are not made of wood or steel. I am sorry for your losses and what ever you have gone through. Prayers to you and to all. Continue this amazing reactions. Hope you can react to "Adios" Diana Navarro
Damn bro.. I feel you, it's hard even if you understand English or Spanish. It gets you
Crazy that the second part of this video was freestyled and not really a part of the song
