Juan Gabriel was left at an Orphanage in Ciudad Juarez at the age of 4 yrs old. He sold tortillas to make some money. He wrote the song "No Tengo Dinero". She had other kids but only left him. He wrote "Amor Eterno" for her. He lived his life longing for her approval.
Juan Gabriel the legend....If you know the lirycs....Is so moving...a poetry for all mothers ...are loves in our lives....A gem of the music I Spanish ❤❤❤❤
❤He 12:20 was such a beautiful soul and so talented. He wrote his music and lyrics. He was a genius. He forgave his mother and took care of her when he became famous. He bought her a house and supported her.
My mom is still alive, and I still cry listening to this song. As an adolescent, and into my 20s, I caused that beautiful woman so much stress and pain. Now, in my 30s, even tho she has forgiven me, I’ll always carry the guilt of breaking her heart. I love you mom, never did I mean to cause your stress. You always believed in me even tho I never accomplished much in life. My life will be empty the day you’re no longer here. I love you mom, forever and always
"I feel compelled to write this on every Juan Gabriel reaction video of amor Eterno. Going by this song you might think he had a good and loving mother, and the tragedy behind this song is that that wasn’t the case. He lived in an abusive household, his mother rejected him and failed to protect him. Let him almost die after been severely beaten and he might’ve died if his aunt hadn’t taken him out of there. He grew up and when he had the means he did right by his mom despite her never loving him as a mother should love his son. Bought the house where she worked as a maid for her to live there. To her last days he did right by her but by all accounts they relationship was never mended due to her continuing to reject him. And for him to sing “though I have a clear conscience I know I could’ve done more for you” just breaks your heart to know what a beautiful man he was, looking for his mothers love and not turning his back on her despite her rejection."
I'm an American "Gringo" who loves Mexican music & Juan Gabriel is my iconic, all-time favorite. He was the greatest of the great. I often wept reacting to his performances & I wept at his passing. Thanks for your reaction. You are an excellent reactor who entertains & edifices. Blessings from Texas.
As a Spanish Person from Colombia, I can tell you right now that IM not into this type of music BUT this can sing his heart out, you can feel the emotion when he sings, if you speak spanish, this song WILL make you cry 100%
One of the best singers and songwriters from Mexico 🇲🇽 to the world . He is totally unique ! And will never be forgotten, his legacy will always live on.
This song is a direct stab to the heart. It is a song that says HOW MUCH he misses his mother - he pledges his ETERNAL LOVE to her. I will translates some lines: "How I wish that you were alive. That your eyes had never closed so I could still be looking at them. Eternal love, unforgettable. Soner or later, I will be with you... so we can forever love each other. I've suffered so much since you left. Since that day I am not happy. " It goes on... and just totally destroys us with heartbreak and love at the same time.
I’ve honestly seen people react to this song without subtitles or translating the lyrics ahead of time yet they still cry . His emotion and interpretation alone brings people to tears . Juan Gabriel is the only one that can do that , he’s amazing . ❤️
Juan Gabriel was Mexican BUT he was in ALL Latino homes, and represents us all! I grew up with my parents listening to him and hes as much ours as Mexicos.... hes a treasure and credit to all Latinos.
He is singing with his heart. Your words. Best description of Juan Gabriel’s singing I have ever read. Juan Gabriel was indeed special. And now, years after his death, he remains beloved and will never be forgotten.
He utilizes this “cry” element similar to flamenco (he is wearing a Spanish bullfighter jacket). This cry element was brought to Spain through the Gitano culture (Gypsy/Romani) from the Middle East and the south of Asia. It evolved into flamenco in Spain and then it made its way to Latin America where was absorbed. Juan Gabriel made plenty of use of this “cry” element in his voice to express despair, anguish and sadness

I love this guy Juan Gabriel, I was at his last concert at the Forum at Inglewood, and He past away next day at Santa Monica, I met him in the Million Dollar at Los Angeles in 1974, RIP JUAN GABRIEL
I'm not sure if the person who recommended this video to you explained the meaning of the song. JG wrote it for his mother who passed away, and this is almost like a prayer about how, while they had a difficult relationship, she still misses her and one day they'll be together again. I'm Mexican and it's very common to hire mariachi bands to play this song at funerals. A lot of mariachi bands gathered outside Staples Center in Los Angeles and played this song when Kobe Bryant passed away. It's something about our Mexican culture where music is the best vehicle to express our feelings, even the sad ones.
They did as soon as I was done reacting. Honestly, I am so taken by your culture. It's beautiful. I'm happy that I get to experience this from all the way across the world. Such a deeply rich and impactful way to do things. You are beautiful
You MUST listen to this song with translated lyrics. It brings you to your knees, especially those who have lost their mother. I can never refrain from crying when i listen to it.
My father told me a story before he passed about Juan Gabriel, he once was offered a contract to move to Dubai for a year from the King or Prince I’m not sure who but they wanted him to perform for them because he was such a great artist!! He declined only because he didn’t know the culture or the language
Out of all of the english language reactions to this specific song sung by Juan Gabriel, in this specific concert in 1990, this one is by far the most elegant, respectful, thorough, and best quality reaction that I have seen on UA-cam so far, and I have seen at least 10 reactions so far in english and the rest that I have seen have been in Spanish. Thank you so much for taking the time to react throughly to this gem of Mexico's musical history. ❤❤❤
The lyrics...This song is a diamond without time...The meaning...Hypnic and master piece...This song can live in the deep of the heart because all people in the world can identify with the feeling of cry and celebrate the companion and the absence of mothers brothers friends for example for me...The love for my cats and dogs specially one car Plotinus...for him when this song came to my ears ..This song ...Is a present for him...my friends....❤.....Thank you for present this song in your channel...❤❤❤❤❤❤ Big love for you greetings from Mexico...Free Palestine and all Arab world

The eternal unforgettable love for his mom makes him suffer and with a dark lonesomeness he lives since she died, sadness and loneliness is all he has left, amor eterno (eternal love) how much he wishes her little eyes would open so she could see again. “But sooner or later I will be with you so we can love again” he cries to her.
I saw him in person and when he sang this song it was unbelievable. It was heart wrenching to hear him sing this knowing it was about his mother. We played this song at several funerals in our family. It is truly loved as he is in the Mexican community.❤️
You're right its a tragedy that we no longer have music artists like this. I only like to sing ballads like this and you don't hear stuff like this anymore ☹️
This song makes me cry every time! It makes me think of my auntie and how much she loved him and the both of us sitting at the kitchen table sending in postcards to vote for him in an amateur radio contest in Cd. Juárez. We spent so much money because we both love him so much. I don't think he won that contest.
My parents went on vacation when I was a child and we stayed with my grandma for like a week. It was so boring and all my creature comforts were replaced with old lady stuff. We couldn’t watch our cartoons or anything. I missed my mom so much I was so homesick. One night, I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep. Down the hall my grandma was listening to this song in the living room and I just started crying. The sadness in his voice and my loneliness overtook my soul. One of the loneliest times in my life.
I loved when you said "we don't have artist like this anymore", i'm a Mexican, and that is completly true, Juan Gabriel was Greatest of all. And this is just a taste of a lot of beautiful songs.
First of all, your pronunciation was on point. Yes, he's is a natural talent. Very impressive performance. Your comment about his "voice shedding tears" was in itself, poetic.
“Eternal Love”, a song I picked for my granny’s recent funeral in Dec 2022. His vocals represented exactly the loss I felt by loosing her. The heartache of not having her anymore.
We played this song at my mother’s funeral. I don’t think there was no one not crying. My mother was born and raised in Mexico. I was very fortunate to have been raised by such a strong and passionate woman. She loved us very much. She loved Juan Gabriel music. She sang along all the time. Miss her so much! Thank you for sharing this. ❤
As previously explained, Juan Gabriel wrote this for his late mom. This is often played at funerals by mariachis for moms, grandmothers. Mexicans deeply revere their mothers, and this song makes everyone weep.
Juan Gabriel 🇲🇽 is a Legend!!! Así fue, Abrázame muy fuerte, Hasta que te conocí, La farsante, Yo no nací para amar, Ya lo sé que tu te vas, Inocente pobre amigo, El Noa Noa, Querida, Ya no vivo por vivir, Costumbres, Se me olvidó otra vez... etcétera, etcétera... hundred and hundred of songs.... 🙂
THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTION WE ALL THE MEXICANS ARE SO PROUD OF HIM I RECOMMEND ANOTHER ONE WITH THIS FEELIN ABRÁZAME MUY FUERTE PUT THE SUBTITLES LOVE FROM MÉXICO!!!!
This song he wrote to his mom that past away and he couldn't be with her in her last moments because he was far away performing. Its a tribute to all moms but also we sign this song to those who we loved and that are no longer with us and that we miss..
When you say his voice is “crying”, YES!!!!! This song for his mother was one that he didn’t record at first cuz it was so close to his heart and he didn’t think he would get through the song. He had his friend and fellow singer Rocío Durcál (also great) record it first. This song, the lyrics rip your heart out after the loss of a loved one. “ what I wouldn’t give to have never had your eyes close.” 😭😭😭😭 His audience knew EVERY SONG!!!! I would have loved to have been able to see him perform!
You know what’s amazing about this song and this man? He wrote it for a mother that was really mean to him, yet he always loved her and respected her until the end. Your commentary is exquisite.
im blown away by the fancy mic and camera this man is using yet no one tells him when you turn on subtitles you can then go into settings and choose the language of the subtitles. its amazing how many youtuber reaction videos i have seen of this song and these people dont bother to check the subtitle settings. half of them do and half dont.
Por fin/finally ... i wanted to see your reaction to this song. IT IS EMOTIONAL & HEART BREAKING. I lost my mom when I was 12. This song is at another level to express my loss. The line that gets me "i wish your eyes had not closed" quisiera que tu vivieras, que tus ojitos no su hubieran cerrado. 😭😭😭😭 I have gotten better at singing it while crying. BUT I always cry. You must listen with english lyrics. Without it you will miss the point. Or learn Spanish 😉

It’s such a beautiful poem or song that I can’t listen to this song because it’s says “ When I Look at my self in the mirror and I see you in me” it’s very touchy my mom passed away 4 years ago and like he says in his song “Amor Eternal “ one day we going to meet again in live happy after once again. Mom sooner or later we will be together again to love each other Mom until then you are my Eternal Love Mom
You are absolutely right Juan Gabriel was one of a kind totally totally talent now that is talent definitely. Something you don’t see anymore specially now in 2023 . He was amazing. 👍👍👍💚🤍♥️🇲🇽🇲🇽

Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for appreciating and admiring one of the best talents from my country. I had the privilege to see him in concert like 35 yrs ago and it was amazing. A very talented composer, singer and performer.
Thank you for your kind words and respect to our beloved Juan Gabriel. 🇲🇽Music has no borders nor language barriers. It either moves you or it doesn't. ❤️🕊🎶
Thank you for putting a context to the talent of this man. We grew up with him and in a way we always knew he was there. Hurt - break ups - happy moments he has the perfect song that it was written to and for you.
I want to thank you for all that you said regarding Juan Gabriel and his music. You're absolutely right, this music does not exist anymore. Juan Gabriel is the #1 singer in Latin America, I can honestly say that when he sang this specific song in concert the first time there was not one dry eye that did not shed tears when he sang. Not only is it a heartfelt song but since he sang it to his mom who had passed away it makes it even more gut wrenching in hearing it especially to all of us that have lost our mothers in death. Beautiful song indeed I can never sing it without crying because I sing it for my grandmother (my mom's mom) and when I sing to my Mom since both have passed away. Once again thank you for the beautiful notations that you have given this artist and his song, and to bad that this music is of old🖤
Thats who, and what Mexican singers are. They express our grief that we know .. are so familiar with. Because he's went and gone through it to. He suffered too, he's not spared. He's keeping it real.

“His voice is shedding tears” it’s probably the best metaphor when describing Juan Gabriel and especially this song. 🙌🏻

Not his voice is singing but his soul. It tears your mind and heart. It is a demolishing song. 😢😢😢
My mom just passed of cancer and this song now has taken a new feeling and meaning to it💔💔💔💔💔💔 I LOVE YOU MOM! Forever!

He freestyled most of this performance. He literally created a whole new song while performing. He was an amazing song writer, singer and performer. ❤
Actually, he mashed a few verses of Ojitos Tiernos towards the end.

One of the most beautiful songs written in Spanish.
Literally you hit the nail on the head: “it’s like his voice is crying” bc it IS crying and he literally bared his soul in this performance
Yes! He is crying because he is singing about missing his departed mother and thinking about how she is alone under that tombstone

DON'T WORRY MY FRIEND, YOUR SPANISH WAS QUITE GOOD. YOU RED REALLY WELL. THIS GUY, WAS AMAZING, A GREAT COMPOSITOR AND SINGER. JUSTA A GREAT VOICE!!
“ what I wouldn’t give to have never had your eyes close.” 😭😭😭😭
His audience knew EVERY SONG!!!!
The line that gets me "i wish your eyes had not closed"
quisiera que tu vivieras, que tus ojitos no su hubieran cerrado. 😭😭😭😭
I have gotten better at singing it while crying. BUT I always cry.
You must listen with english lyrics. Without it you will miss the point. Or learn Spanish 😉
You can literally feel every emotion in his singing; he takes you there…
He was a genius his interpretation is out of this world.

It’s such a beautiful poem or song that I can’t listen to this song because it’s says “ When I Look at my self in the mirror and I see you in me” it’s very touchy my mom passed away 4 years ago and like he says in his song “Amor Eternal “ one day we going to meet again in live happy after once
again. Mom sooner or later we will be together again to love each other Mom until then you are my Eternal Love Mom

No le entendí nada, pero para que sepa cómo era y es de excelente, Juan Gabriel, porque para mí sigue con nosotros.
Sorry Irma, hopefully UA-cam will create the subtitles soon, they are auto generated 🙏🏻❤️
I had the opportunity to go to his concerts. He was amazing!!
