    I hafta say I have watched this video literally a hundred times or more over the past couple of years. This lineup has to be top five of all time in Southern Gospel imo.

      @@donnaward6512 I found out some time back that Brian Free is the most awarded Tenor singer in all of Southern Gospel Music history. He's had his own group, Brian Free and Assurance, since, I think, 1994. Nowadays, it's still Brian Free at Tenor, Bill Shivers at Lead, and Mike Rogers at Baritone. What a group, what a ministry, and what a blessing, these guys are!

    • @donnaward6512
      @donnaward6512 5 років тому +3

      Rojar Dakar thanks for the information yes sir I think Brian Free is the best tenor I have ever heard and I like Gold City's song looking for a city and when Brian Free and the assurance sing it his group makes him keep singing the chorus by himself. Thanks again for the update.Have a blessed day.

    Seems like Tim Riley's in somewhat of a hurry, to get off-stage. I wonder why? I've heard at least one other song, where he did that, too. It was a live version of "When he calls me, I'll fly away." I'm just curious, as to what was up, with all of that wanting to get off the stage so quickly, at times?
    Just curious about that.....

    I originally wrote Shoutin Ground in 1991 when I first met Kennett and Vicki Newton who were preparing to go as missionaries to Taiwan. Vicki told how God confirmed that they were called as a family. Their oldest son Kenney was born on 8/8/88 which for the Chinese is the most special birthday of the century! (I had just been diagnosed with lymphoma for the second time.)

    Why does Ivan say that Christians are the 'luckiest' people on the face of the earth? Luck has nothing to do with the Christian life.

    • @theoldguyintheclass
      @theoldguyintheclass 8 років тому +2

      I think he was just talking and used a poor word choice. I've said that on occasion, but you're right. It's not luck at all.

    • @BFASFAN
      @BFASFAN 8 років тому +7

      I think it is he is saying as Christians we ARE Lucky! Wouldn't want the alternative...So if we are SAVED we ARE the luckiest people in the world!!! :)

    • @lesliedebord7997
      @lesliedebord7997 8 років тому +7

      We are lucky to be Christians - lucky that God loved us so much that He sent His only Son to cover our sins so that we can live with Him for eternity. He didn't have to offer us salvation. He could have just wiped us out and cut his losses. Jesus Christ didn't have to die for us. At any time, He could've stopped everything and abandoned the cross, but He didn't. That's luck. It's a privilege to be a Christian and know the one and only God. It's an honor to have a personal relationship with the One who created the universe. It's humbling to know that everything He did, He did for us. And He didn't have to do any of it. That's lucky for us. I, for one, don't want to think of the alternative.

    I would like the copyright for Shoutin' Ground. I am the original writer of the song and Ivan C. Parker had the original copyright. I wrote Shoutin' Ground on August 2, 1988. That was the day I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as I prayed and cried out to God after returning home from late night at work.

    Listen to the beat, this comes straight from voodoo in Africa. Boom-boom-boom boom, 1,2 1,2, 1,2, it's the same monotonous beat they use in paganism to induce demons into the dancers. It also has polyrhythmic elements in it too--not as pronounced as some other beats, but it's there.
    Unfortunately, Satan knows what he's doing. Beats and rhythms like this, bypass the frontal lobe of the brain where wisdom, spirituality, and godliness is, and goes right to the limbic system of the brain where carnal lusts are--this music does not lead one higher to Jesus Christ, but lower making one desire to dance and get low with a female, and we know what comes next--fornication. It also takes the brain into alpha mode which helps to bypass the pre-frontal cortex of the brain, going right into the limbic area.
    It's not just the lyrics that make the song ok or not ok--it's the music itself that carries the tune one way or the other. Does Gold City know what they're doing? No they do not--they serve the Lord as best as they can--but when we receive new light from God--He expects us to follow it.
    If you want education on the various forms of music and how they affect us in many ways, then I recommend this 10 lecture series, about one hour each from 2012, by Christian Berdahl a CCM artist himself:

      Hahaha Steve, for reals!! I’m afraid your right. I noticed the audience made up 50 and up having a hard time keeping their clothes on it was so enticing. In fact, reading your description of boom boom boom chic ah boom or, was it chic ah chic ah boom vroom boom- anyway- gave me lustful thoughts all on its own. Dangerous stuff- so glad God made you the authority on these matters.

    • @davidsargent8374

      Steve, if you are going to make such a statement it should be backed up with scripture. This sounds like something the Pharisees would have said. If a beat is demonic, would another beat be Holy?
