Great performance at NQC by GOLD CITY, Tenor, Jay Parrack, Lead, Johnathan Wilburn, Baritone, Mark Trammel, and Bass, Tim Riley. What a sound! Glorifying Our Lord forever, AMEN!!!
I hear ya. I’ve been a Jonathan Wilburn fan since he was singing with his family. I was super excited when he joined Gold City. This is the best GC lineup ever. No offense to Brian, Ivan and Mike.
Gold city had some great singers through the years, but these 4 were the cream of the crop! I love their bass player as well....he is one gifted musician.....great to see him still playing for them!
I cannot read the Spanish comment by Pepe Gallo above, but I see the name "Jay Parrack" there: would the guy with the brilliant super-high tenor perhaps be related to Johnny Parrack who had a similar talent, and was part of the famous Kingsmen Quartet of some 20 years ago?
I was married for 17 years when he left me. I think all the good southern gospel music we both loved went with him. I have been trying to remember some of those groups names and I finally, 17 years later, have remembered Gold City today. I hope I remember another soon.
So many good gospel groups...Cathedrals, Kingdom Heirs, Florida Boys, Kingsmen, Greater Vision, Statesmen, Masters 5, Blackwood Brothers, Gaither Vocal Band, Imperials, Jeff and Sheri Easter, Triumphant Quartet, etc. just to name a few. Hopefully this helps to jog your memory! Good luck!
I loved Gold City through each change. They were always able to blend the different voices to sing out that Gold City sound. At times, I wish I could turn back the years and attend a few concerts to hear them sing as they once did so beautifully.
I grew up on this kind of southern gospel music via my dad and this is the group that first caught my attention. Still love them to bits. Great ministry and Jonathan is still the best lead singer I've heard . Clean , precise and a sweet voice with height. Can't beat that. God bless them all.
IN MY OPINION, STILL BEST MALE QUARTET AT NQC IN 2017, AND THE BEST LINE UP GOLD CITY'S EVER HAD-- TALENTED AND ANOINTED! AND AN ARGUMENT COULD BE MADE THAT THIS IS THE GREATEST QUARTET FROM TOP TO BOTTOM EVER, WHEN THEY WERE IN THEIE PRIME!!! AND EVEN WITH AGE, THESE GUYS R STILL AS GOOD AS ANY, AND MAYBE BETTER THAN ALL!!! GOD BLESS U GENTLEMEN-- 1ST CLASS!!! I'VE BEEN BLESSED!!! BJB
@bill jones - BJ,-Get a life my brother!!! Is that all you can do is find 1 thing wrong with 1 song??? Esp with all the other things they did that were so positive!!! I don't give a rats ass what you think! I don't post encouraging compliments to get a negative response from anybody. U must be a Democrat and work for the media or big tech- Cz U sound just like them! Lol!!Jesus Christ said, Edify one another, Encourage one another-- Don't tear your brothers down!!! I don't care if they screwed up every song!!! I only heard the 2, And I enjoyed it because they enjoyed doing it!!! So what if they put on a show- Thats what people pay tickets to go and see. And gospel groups should try and make their concerts more alive, colorful, and interesting as possible-- Cz they are selling the Greatest gift of all-:Salvation through Jesus Christ!!! So, "Who died and made u judge and critic???" At least they're are up there trying to do something for God!!! What are you doing for God?? Evidently nothing- If all you have time to do is sit around and critic and nit pick every group u don't like, or thats not perfect! A PERSON can sing like an Angel-- but if you don't have passion and the anointing of the Holy spirit, and enjoy what your doing-- Don't expect anyone else to enjoy what your doing!!! Why don't u call McCray dove and complain to him? I'LL tell you why? Your a coward!!! Your brave hiding behind your little computer. I happen to know McCray Dove, he came to our church 28 yrs ago-- And he's a great guy- And he loves God!! Was he passionate and eccentric then??? Absolutely!!! He came and ministered all by himself-- playing and singing from the piano until he was shouting happy in our pentecostal church. WE NEED A LOT MORE SINGERS LIKE HIM! HES DIFFERENT!!!! A LOT OF THOSE OTHER GROUPS ARE CARBON COPIES OF ONE ANOTHER-- DOING SAME OLE SAME OLE NIGHT IN AND NIGHT OUT( And they are all forgettable!!!)-- IF EVERYBODYS GOT THE EXACT SAME THING ON THEIR BUFFET, WHY SHOULD I EAT AT YOUR PLACE? PEOPLE WILL DRIVE PAST 10 OTHER CONCERTS TO FIND A PASSIONATE GROUP!!! SO U HAVE EVERYBODY ELSE- AND THEN, THEIRS MCCRAY DOVE. HE BROKE THE MOLD!!! AND MOST PEOPLE LOVE HIM FOR IT!!! AND HE SURE AINT FORGETTABLE!!!
Barbara Pacelli These are the best singers Gold City has ever had. Love them all! Jay is the best Tenor and Jonathan is the best lead singer I have heard to date,
It was 1986 that I first heard the Gold City quartet and every song they perform (that I've heard) has not ceased to bless me. It might not be but one line through the whole song that Jesus speaks to me in but it's powerful. It's 2018 & I know it's been at least since 1997 that I last heard their songs & since searching for a specific song that they used to sing, I have found more & more that I haven't heard before or had forgotten. It brings back memories, feelings & blessings each song I listen to. Sunday is Easter & as I listen to these songs & meditate on God, I feel uplifted, joyful, closer to Jesus & so very blessed all over again. I'm so thankful for the love & grace of my Lord & for the sacrifice He made for me & for All mankind so that we can come boldly before the throne of God & that He paid the cost so that we could go to heaven. To God indeed be the Glory! Have a blessed Easter! ✝🌹🙏
Love this group Imo, one of the most underrated, unrecognized groups in SG. This is the lineup I was privileged to see in concert the only time I was ever blessed to see them. And I can tell you straight up Tim Riley is my favorite bassist. Hands down. Not even a close call. That rich deep tone, executed flawlessly, gives the rest of the group a SOLID foundation to build on. He can drag the bottom but it's not like some that disappear until it's time for them to accent the song by showing how long they can hit. That doesn't do a single thing for the sound. There's not one drop off that with Tim And I'll tell you right up front After we watched the concert, we talked with Tim at the product table. This was just after their CD What a great lifestyle came out. My wife had an accident and head her neck broken. Prayer took care of that. PTL. twenty plus years later STILL zero paralysis. We talked with Tim and told him that their song Between me and the storm had seen is through many a hard patch. We just about had church together!! We spent a half hour talking and not once did he say like we were holding up their sales. Not once. We got a few of their CD's and we left him alone. Zero doubt with me who my favorite SG men's quarter is and will ever be.
I love these guys so much they are the best I think they are the greatest band ever and I had no idea that they all still sang I am so so happy I am going to the Show this September and I am so happy that there is a chance I might get to see them it is a true blessing from God
I can't get enough of this classic Gold City line up! I'd love it if they just did 20 dates a year as ** CLASSIC GOLD CITY!!!!**---I PRAY THEY COME BACK TO GOOD OLE SC!!!! THEY HAVE SUCH A GREAT BLEND, GREAT SOLO VOICES, GREAT PASSION, GREAT HUMOR, GREAT INTEGRITY AND CHARACTER, AND ABOVE ALL-- GREAT ANOINTING!!!!! WoW!!! SUCH A BLESSING!!!!
I like the original Gold City with Brian, Ivan and Mike but this lineup puts the gold in Gold City. Jay, Jonathan, Mark, and Tim make up the best AND most powerful southern gospel quartet of all time in my opinion.
I used to listen to Gold City back in the '80s and early '90s with Brian, Mike, Ivan and Tim and I have to say I think they are still the best pure singing lineup, but these guys have way better showmanship. I wonder if southern gospel audiences are more accepting of that type of thing now. If you watch old videos of Gold City, the audiences are pretty reserved.
Not exactly the original Gold City tho. The original line up in 1980 had Bob Oliver on tenor, Jerry Ritchie on lead, Ken Trussel on baritone and Dallas Gililand on bass. Of course, the most famous line up of the 80s is the one with Brian Free, Ivan Parker, Mike LeFevre and Tim, and because of that they're commonly mistaken as the original lineup, but they only began singing together around 1985.
Jay sang at our wedding in may 2015. My wife attented Hill Crest Baptist where he is song director through highschool and when she was home from college.

Nyck461 tenor is Jay Parrach , lead is Jonathan Wilburn , baritone is Mark Trammell and yes singing bass is Tim Riley , best to ever do it in my humble opinion
Unbelievable, they hadn’t all sung together in 15 yrs or so and they still were probably the best quartet at the convention that year.
This was 2017 not 15 years ago
This group is a little older they all still have the greatest sound. God has really blessed them!!!
This the very best version of Gold City. Jonathan Wilburn was their finest lead singer, just amazing.
The greatest group assembled right there.
My late husbands favourite group. His favourite while going through cancer treatments was I’m Not Giving Up.
Great performance at NQC by GOLD CITY, Tenor, Jay Parrack, Lead, Johnathan Wilburn, Baritone, Mark Trammel, and Bass, Tim Riley. What a sound! Glorifying Our Lord forever, AMEN!!!
Thanks for the list. I know Mark Trammel by sight, but was wondering. They are TURNING IT OUT!
Don’t forget about Channing Eleton on the piano and Adam Borden on the bass. Long time GC members
Tim Riley is probably the best bass singer ever,!! He has been a blessing to my family and me for years✝️🇺🇸
I could listen to Jay, Johnathan, Mark and Tim they are the Top#1GoldCity ♥️
I think it's safe to say Jay Parrack is the best tenor Gold City has ever had
My favorite Gold City lineup still got it
Did they have new members later❓
mine was with Ivan and Brian
I’m with you here👍
@@mountaingirl1797 yeah everyone in this lineup isn't there now
jay was a legend in the 90s and he's still a legend today. what a voice.
and don't even get me started on jonathan

What a blessing to be reminded that " it's under control" in 2020 - 2021! Thanks for the encouragement.
Hands down the best Gold City version ever....do it again guys!!!
*ONE OF THE GREATEST LINEUP IN SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC!*
LEAD : JONATHAN
TENOR : JAY
BARITONE : *LEGEND* MARK TRAMMELL
BASS : TIM RILEY

I feel the same, I wish that I could have appreciated their music then like I do now
I used to drive all over Florida to see these guys ! 1994 -2000
Jay is flat out the best tenor on the road today. I love that he is singing again with the Lefevere Quartet.
Look at who is daddy is! He got it honest man. Don’t get me wrong Jay is a beast of a tenor but his daddy has shown him up (all in good fun)
Jay and Brian Free. I’d hate to have to pick one. Both great, and GC alumni.
What about David Phelps?!
@@daniel6killer David Phelps is in a class all his own. He is an actor incredible singer with power and emotion in every song he sings.
I like Jay better than any tenor myself also.
By far. By FAR the best GC lineup. I wish they would record one more CD.
Best quartet best arrangement best lineup in SOGO history hands down no questions asked. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Johnathan Wilburn is the best lead singer in gospel music. Just love Gold City with these four singers. They are the BEST!!!
Amen Brother
I really like him too. He and Guy Penrod are hard to beat
This is the greatest group of all time. There are many many others that I’ve loved dearly through the years but this combination was tops!
Amen brother
THE BOYS ARE GETTING OLDER BUT SOUND GREAT! JESUS BLESS THEM!
Favourite Song Jonathan Sang “I’m Not Giving Up” ♥️
Beautiful...What a Excellent Combination💌✍️💯
God bless this group and add more years to their Life,so that they continue preaching the Gospel through music!Amen!!!
One of my favorite groups of all time. The current lineup is as good as any, but I do miss Jay Parrack!
This is the Gold in Gold City. Love this group whatever the name.
Wish I could have been there. Jay is one of my favorite tenors and I love all their basses
Jay is The Man!
I met Jay when he first joined the Mike LeFevre Qt. He still has the High Altitude notes that he had with GC.
Favourite Song Tim Sings “Under Control” Hallelujah Jesus
I love Gold City. They are one of my all time favorite gospel groups.
In my opinion, this was and is the best quartet in all of gospel music. Would love to see the old gang again. Tim had a real deep base voice.
Love this song love Gold city.
They might be getting old but they still got it. Legends never get old
Now you would have to be crazy not to like, "Gold City " Or should I say not in your right mind , come on praise the lord 🙌 👏🙏❤
Greatest quartet, jay parrack again using his talent, and tim riley wonderful, to God all Glory!!!
they have great privileged voices.
Can someone please tell me I'm not dreaming and that the real good city is back together lol.
Or was this a one off?
Gold city's best ever lineup is the one you are watching right now.
kelton Thomas agreed 100%
Their voices, blend and enthusiasm are unsurpassed in the history of Southern gospel.
Love Gold City!!
