I love how there’s not only a full band on stage but even a pedal steel guitar as well
I was at this concert in the 80's Southern Gospel Music Appreciation week.
I have always loved to hear The Gold City Quartet Sing ❤🤗🤗
I remember singing this in church with my family. Even as a female, it was hard to keep up with Brian Free's notes! :)
If this song don't get your fire burning your wood is wet
gold city is from my home town Gadsden Alabama enjoyed going to hear them sing
I have had the honor of meeting Brian free whenever him and his group came and performed at the church I used to attend in Jacksonville Arkansas a few years ago very nice man of God.
My new favorite song, after just having studied Revelation. That book is a blessing!
Yes Indeed Amen ☝️🙏❤️🙏🙌🙌🙌🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🙌🙌🙌☝️
Gold city is so anointed of God. Love these guys.
Brian Free is just so "precious"
Glorious song praising that great book, "Revelation"!!!
Very good Gospel singing group.God Bless you all
This is so reminiscent of when I was a young woman and my family went to 'all night singings' sponsored by the local churches. Times were hard for many, there were bad people and worse politicians, but this music 'blessed our souls'. Thank you for sharing. And Yes! I want to hear it again.
My family of four sang this song at church on many occasions, in a LOWER key and a little slower. I sang lead.
I sing tenor, but nowhere as great as Brian Free....wow !!!!
+Bobby Lyle Hands down one of the best tenors ever in Southern Gospel.
He's a great friend of my family, very great man!
You and me both brother!
Come on man, that's only a G at the end ;-)

I like this
they was the best gold city group.
lol, I love tim's stage presence on the videos from this era.
Came here from Small Town Murder, but these guys are pretty talented.
Another od Sandy's creations. Sandy Knight is so talented!
You can always tell when this song is not sung in PA.
This old Gold City stuff is great! I can't stand to listen to the line up of gold city now. The harmony is no where near as good!
I like this version. I have it on a CD and it's a fade-out like the old records. I like having the end on there!
@Oncenter1 There is still a Gold City, just these guys have gone their separte way.
i have this same video on vhs
anyone know where i can find the lyrics to this song?
@mhoot80 the new stuff I can't stand to listen to sometimes they have gone away from this old fashioned Gospel way! and just go the worlds way which is sad.
How old is Brian? He sounds like a kid. This group is good and I never heard of them until I saw an email about them.
I like old time Gospel songs.
The Greenes had a great version.
What year was this? 1988?
is it not SG if they dance and have fun with the song ?
This is true Southern Gospel. Unlike EH&SS.............that's not SG it is singing mixed with dance. - STAY true to SG!
I see Ernie Haase and Signature Sound doing those insipid dance moves, and it looks AND feels sacreligious! I've even wondered...is ANYBODY in that group even saved? I do believe that I heard at least one report surface that, if you didn't do what Ernie said to do, that he'd kick you out of the group! I hope he's not still like that. There has been a rather significant turnover rate in a lot of so-called "Gospel Groups"...his included. Tim Duncan left, and went to Canton Junction, I think about 2011 or 2012. Signature Sound has had Paul Harkey in at Bass for at least several years now. Who knows how many pianists, Lead Singers, and Baritone Singers have been in Ernie's group?
😅
I'm not an expert on voices, but is Brian Free a tenor or countertenor? I'm not saying he sounds girly or anything, his voice is really good. I just wanna know what his voice is.
p
He's a tenor with a very high squeaky voice. He is quite natural...just a bit painful in the eardrums...
1:He's a true Tenor. 2: He's also the most awarded Tenor in all of Southern Gospel History!
mans or womans??
Noski…. Just sayin
