It may be from the Nvidia Drive PX 2 of a Tesla (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_Drive) "All Tesla Motors vehicles manufactured from mid-October 2016 include a Drive PX 2, which will be used for neural net processing to enable Enhanced Autopilot and full self-driving functionality.[9] Other applications are Roborace.[10] Disassembling the Nvidia-based control unit from a recent Tesla car showed that a Tesla was using a modified single-chip Drive PX 2 AutoCruise, with a GP106 GPU added as a MXM Module. The chip markings gave strong hints for the Tegra X2 Parker as the CPU SoC"
Pcie X1 is still good average FPS of 30 is good at 1080p is fine. Nobody could have imagined this type of setup to run commercial game on USB based riser card.
I've had a MXM 9650gt back in the day in an Acer laptop.... since then I'm in love with MXM (and MXM II) cards! actually I have one installed in an HP elitedesk in my office (for some everning light gaming after work ;) I THINK IT WILL BE REALLY COOL TO SEE THE EXPENSIVE ADAPTER, EVEN IF I THINK YOU CAN REALLY SKIP THAT PURCHASE: IT IS WAY TOO EXPRENSIVE MAN!
I'm working on mxm adapters right now. The lack of video output means the x1 adapter has to compete for the already insuficient bandwidth to send the grafical data back. Even in x1 if the mxm had a grafical output directly from the adapter you would have double the bandwidth.

There is actually a good usecase for this. If you use that PCIE-1x card you can use one in your Plex server etc as accelerator card for transcoding.

I am currently planning to do this with dell m6800 laptop

Thanks in advance
The 970M has working display outputs and normal Nvidia drivers, so if the price is the same, I would surely pick the 970M.
cool video! but how did you do it? the p106m doesnt have any video output?
This exact video has the expansion. 😄
This might be off topic, but can you shared how did you able to use e3-1265L for gaming ? Since mine always stuck at 200 mhz in windows
Do fresh Windows installation, install all updates, including the optional ones, enable high performance profile in Windows, that's it.
Might be able to adjust clock speeds through SMI commands
Nice test. For the display output, you can use GPU passthrough like with Tesla GPU's. Try the x16 adapter please, I want to see what the results are.
That's exactly how I have tested this GPU. The MXM to PCI-E X16 adapter is rather expensive, I have not yet decided if I can afford it.
