We’ve finally got our hands on the all-new BMW M2 CS! This absolute beast of an M2 comes equipped with the same 3-litre twin-turbo as found in the M4, and as a result, it can put down 450hp & 550Nm of torque!
As for the competition? Well it’s lining up against Mat’s latest long-termer, the AMG A45, and a 2016 RS3! The A45 may only have a 2-litre twin-turbo, but it can still produce 421hp & 500Nm! And as for the RS3, well that’s been tuned so it now produces an awesome 450hp & 750Nm!!

When is Mat going to realize carbon ceramic brakes don't reduce stopping distance? They dramatically reduce brake fade though...
They even brake WORSE when cold lol. Actually even very small brakes manage to lock up the wheels. At 100kmh the brakes dont matter, a 240mm brake will brake the same distance as a 400mm will. But after two brake test the 240mm will be fucked up whereas the 400mm will do just fine even after 10 brakes.
People really think that bigger brakes give u better braking distance, whereas in most cases the tires are the limiting factor because the brake performance is better than the tire performance.

In some previous video he did mention that it doesn't really help in stopping sooner but that it helps with fade
@Da Ca in higher speeds yes, bigger brakes will improve. But under 100 mph tires are just locking up, because they are the limiting factor. The friction even on small brakes is enough to lock them up.
On really excessive speeds where downforce is a thing, you are right, because the friction of the tires increases as there is more force pushing them against the ground and the friction of tires start to get bigger in comparison to the brakes. But in the test carwow does, it doesnt really matter because they are too slow.
@Da Ca nope, because I did it. I have a 525d and upgraded from 289mmx25mm to the 350mm M5 brakes ;)
My ABS went off the same way it went off with the smaller brakes, because my tires (Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3) were the limiting factor. But now I can afford to brake 3 times from 200kmph without overheating them.
A duel with the 3 version of the M2 would be interesting to see the gap between them.

It's not.. check power...its different..and competition it has one turbo in stead of two
@@siphoernest2278 You should check it! The M2 Competition and the standard M3/M4 have the S55B30 engine with biturbo. Just the hp are different. M2 Comp has 410 hp, standard M3/M4 have 431 hp, M2/M3/M4 CS have 450 hp.

Its actually not a 2016 model , they showed virtual cockpit. Mine is a 2016 pre opf model, the facelift got the virtual cockpit starting 2017.
@@Ersy90 Considering the engine is tuned, its a high chance the owner is a petrolhead, so is very posible he got retrofitted the virtual cockpit from early models, its a very common thing on those s3/rs3, gti/r and fr/cupra.

@@MRJAYDANGEROUS Thanks genius, I literally said that. The footage they showed was not of a 2016 RS3, they have shown facelift virtual cockpit footage which funnily also reads 3000 miles on the odometer. Definitely from a different RS3.
Carwow often uses old footage of the - seemingly - same car to fill up the talking and make the video more interesting. I guess the guy cutting the video doesn’t have as much knowledge as you have and just didn’t know the difference between those cars

Meanwhile my 2004 landcruiser and 2006 type r haven’t got a single problem. Not sure German cars are all that, just pretty and slick

I am buying one, on waiting list for AMG, the same color, same package, the best car you can buy in this segment... I care about 0-100 kmh facts, the best result is her's, the best interior, 2.0 lt engine, low on taxes here (Turkey). I am very happy.
Eventhough in my country the merc just bring that amg, but its more sad to my wallet because I will never afford it😭😭 hopefully one day I can buy it or drive it for a day than Im fine

@S Malmoe I daily one...Ive run 4 different exhaust setups in the past year. I’m familiar with the sound. While it sounds fine in a video, in person it sounds way too raspy, regardless of resonator/muffler setup. It’s because of the stock turbo.
@S Malmoe We just got different tastes. I like the exhaust tone of naturally aspirated engines more. Me being catless doesn’t make it sound any better haha but I didn’t do it for the sound, but for MO POWAH BABY!

@@thehelperofthepeopledems2525 No they haven't. The crank hub is still not keyed or integrated with the crank like on B58 and S58. Their little "friction ring" improvements have done absolutely nothing to fix it and people are still blowing engines.

Don't get me wrong, I love the C63S but it's not in the same league as the M2CS on track.
At 750 NM in the tuned RS3 (vs 500 Nm in the A45s), I expected the RS3 to smoke it. But nope, couldn't quite shake off the 45s in any category... 🤷🏾♀️
If it was a half mile or a mile the a45s would've been far away behind the rs3 and the m2 would be very far away from both.
Its an older car, tech difference would play a big part. If it wanted to be more of a accurate test they would have had a 2018/19 RS3.
Example being the "drift" mode in the A45 - electronic control by the car and you'll never use it.
Launch and traction control will have improved as well. But we could probably go back and forth in an argument all day long 🤣
2020 car vs 2016 what are you expacting?
Don't look at peak torque numbers....RS3 probably makes that 750 NM between 3k and 4k RPM and then the torque drops dramaticlly.
Yes it makes 750nm at probably 3-4k rpm when the turbo kicks in then dies down to a similar level to the a45s in the higher rev range where the engine operates when your max throttle. It’s not about the peak number but how flat the torque curve is over the Rev range.
Racing the most powerful version of the m2 and a tuned rs3 against a STOCK car, seems really fair that does

Always do the drag races with the Audi RS3/S3, could you ever do with the TTRS/TTS, I’m curious about who is faster the S3 or TTS, and RS3 or TTRS, I’m also curious how is the TT vs their direct rivals.
Interesting drag race. The view and lighting was amazing but the image from the go-pros/the cameras stuck on the cars was awful.
So the bimmer is the most RWD fun & it’s the fastest!
