For basically the same price, air3 gives you better camera and more flight time. Who cares about 4k vertical?
Sorry, I do not agree at all, I have an air 3 and my grandson has the mini four, first of all price point the mini 4 is $1000 and my air 3 is $100 more and with that I get a second camera that is capable up to nine times zoom which is absolutely fantastic, my drone flies a lot faster, a lot farther, is far more stable and all this for $100 more. The only selling feature of the mini four is you could stuff it in your pocket because it’s small. She talks about buying a Mavic if you need another lens and their cheapest one starts at $1000 more than the air 3 The only word that comes to mine after watching this video is clueless 😂😂😂😂😂
She is extremely clueless and she forgot about the stacked sensors on the Air 3 which makes it completely different from the Mini 4
Where did you buy your air 3? The price difference is £270+ here. With the RC 2 remote, it's a £400 difference.
I purchased my air three directly from DJI in Los Angeles, I live in California
@@MaxwellSmart6425 must've changed their pricing strategy. Air 3 would be a no brainer if the difference was that small
Three cameras are better than two. Therefore two cameras are no better than one…🤔
No hands on review ?? Id recommend anybody in the market to watch a video of a reviewer that has actual side by side comparisons since this has some key differences missing
yeah she is shite
ur right also the image is different :D wanna go back to sync 4 haha cpu unit and and and.. shame everybody think he is a pro
Given that vertical content is consumed on small screens for the most part, 2.7k is plenty good. There is an aspect about the 70mm camera that is beneficial that nobody talks about and that is a more flattering look for faces. So if you're just shooting landscapes then 24mm is great but when recording myself I'd want the 70mm camera as the 24mm lens makes my face look wonky. Maybe that isn't the case for everyone but to me that is enough to opt for the Air 3 this holiday season.
Erm.....erm....erm.... perhaps you might have overlooked the fact that the Air 3 has a far better battery life than the Mini 4 Pro. It is also faster in terms of actual speed, climb rate and descent rate. I have flown both the Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro side by side in the same wind conditions and frankly the Air 3 did and does handle far better. Is the 70mm lens a game changer? Too bloody right it is. 4k vertical video for me does not matter a furry rats arse. Most of the social media sites don't do 4k in any case and my 1080 70mm vertical telephoto looks absolutely fantastic. The Mini 4 Pro is an excellent drone. When i chose my Air 3 it was a toss up between the 2 of them. I chose extremely carefully and don't regret my choice even for one second
This
I concur
Wow, you sound extremely butthurt, lol
sorry, but that‘s all a matter of how you use the drone. if you are a landscape ecologist like myself for instance i need the best little drone and no elephant in the sky. land owners don‘t like it if you fly over their properties no matter if it‘s pastures, arable land or built areas, so you need something that is more likely to be unnoticed and allowed to fly over all sorts of things, sort of. the things you‘ve listed don‘t outdo it for me because the many advantages of the mini 4 pro are vital in my business when i evaluate landscape elements and try to get an overview about certain landscape aspects. i‘m certainly with amy on this.
Please accept my apologies. I should ]have possibly caveated my own reply with the statement that what I wrote did not apply to landscape ecologists, just everyone else interested in flying drones. For that matter I did not suggest that the Mini 4 Pro was a bad drone. Quite the opposite, I said it was and is an excellent drone. The thing is we are all, at least in the UK governed by the rules which the CAA apply. They strongly stipulate that regardless of whatever we are flying we must maintain VLOS. You can actually fly further while maintaining this with the 'flying elephant' as you describe it. As regards flying over other peoples land? I can actually fly my Air 3 everywhere that you can fly your Mini 4 Pro. The only difference is that I must maintain 50m distance from uninvolved single people whereas you can fly directly over them. None of us can fly over groups of people. As a matter of courtesy I do not fly over land where people voice an objection. There is however nothing legal which prevents me from flying in these places. I just feel that it is nice to be nice. As regards agreeing with Amy, had she not put such a completely one sided You Tube clip up that clearly just omitted many of the strong advantages that the Air 3 offers then in every likelihood I would not have even bothered commenting at all. @@greenogre22
Based in Europe there’s an additional thought to prefer the larger Air 3. The battery. It’s possible to fly the Mini with the battery Plus but this cause problems starting 2024 when the EU-rules starts to ask the C-labels. The Mini 3 Pro and most probably as well the Mini 4 Pro are so bloody quiet. This together with the restrictions larger drones suffer a very good point. BUT over 40 minutes of flight time is in my opinion quite a good reason to go larger. More weight means more contact surface for the wind. True, the Minis makes here a more than brillant job. Sometimes (e.g. in montain areas) you don’t need to fly quiet.
Have to admit. That extra 8kmh in wind strength makes a big difference. I live in Ireland and often can't fly my mavic mini as it's usually hitting around 45kmh
It's also a lot better in real life, I've tested it and there's a massive difference
Have you heard about stacked backside illuminated sensor? :) Air 3 has it : )
Thank you exactly the Air 3 cameras are better than the Mini 4 camera one camera
Hi Amy, do you know if DJI drones in Australia, specifically the Mini 4 Pro, adhere to the FCC standard and provide the same range as they do in the USA? I’ve encountered conflicting information online, and I’m aware that in regions like Europe, drones switch to CE standards, potentially limiting their range.
Thanks for the tips.
The thing is that I have both mini 3 pro and air 3 but it depends on how you travel and use your drone. For exemple if I know I am going in a high altitude on a mountain hiking i for sure will bring along the Air 3. It such a great drone: good fly time, good speeds including ascend/ descend , 70mm camera, more stable in winds. As for the mini 4 beside it being smaller and having more freedom of flight I cant see any advantages. Also from 1 January 2024 the mini 4 will be limited at 120m to still keep the c0 label, for me this is a deal breaker as i need extra heights on mountains.
Thanks Amy for the video. Waiting to get my Mini 4 pro back as i borrowed it to my friend for some skiing in the north of Finland. I did think that Air 3 was a cheaper model;)
for anyone that flies for client work, I cannot disagree with this video enough. Air3 is your minimum entry for paid work, whereas the Mavic 3 Pro is far superior and the perfect tool for a variety of flights. Money aside, there's no well in hell these 2 obscure points you bring up should ever be overly considered when making a drone purchase. Overall, guess I'm just bummed to see yet another video pop up in my feed begging to be watched based on a shite thumbnail.
few things you mention here: Wind - while anyone can read specs, but we can't throw logic out the door. Heavier ship will always be more stable, and have a better chance of performing within it's parameters when faced with a headwind. ofc you wouldn't provide a real-work comparison, showing the stability of A3 outperforming M4 in windy conditions, gets old seeing so many creators hide behind specs. Vertical - i mean you're technically correct, but anyone chasing vert video for IG/TT only needs 1080p due to platform limitations. if it was truly important to the masses, DJI would have vert mode for all their ships. Truth is, it's a niche feature that doesn't demand a lot of attention from consumers.
ofc you wouldn't mention key wins for the A3 here: it has the fastest ascent/descent speed of any of the DJI Prosumer ships, folks do not understand what type of doors this opens when creating dynamic footage. having nightmode on 70mm is wildly enjoyable to shoot with - we've all been dissapointed with a flight at sunset, and having nightmode on both cameras is a great way to eliminate that dissapointment. Real-world 40 min flight times is a massive win, esp for folks that enjoy hyperlapses - this is a real game changer being able to get a sequence this long compared to prev years ships.
there are several reasons to buy a Mini4, as well as the Air3, but to come out with some arbitrary factoids without painting the entire picture is just irresponsible and annoying. Guess YT will continue to lack objectivity and relevant info. While I appreciate the time & effort you've taken here (quality/lighting/audio is great), this attention-grabbing BS is not a great idea if you're trying to build an audience. #dobetter
agree re: DJI being to the go-to drone company, but your comment is derailing the topic here and just isn't relevant. no one is debating that DJI outperforms US-based drone companies for this part of the industry. The point of this convo is to underline the gross subjectivity of this video, in a pathetic attempt for clicks.
btw, M3 is not $2,000 more expensive than A3 or mini4. the M3P is under $1000 more, but you can also pick up a used Mavic 3 w/ 7x for about the same money as A3@@N7DRONES
I agree with you. The video is missing key features that puts the air 3 on a totally different level. The second lens is VERY important on sports and any kind of shoot where you need to get closer to the action but is risky to do. Also when doing client work you need a big badass drone becouse they're paying for it and the want to feel like the service is worth the money.
Also the wind argument is BS, the wind always comes with turbulences and the bigger the mass the more stable becomes.
The M4 is a great drone but the comparison should be done more objectively and not to get fast views.
ayup. it's a real shame to see creators shill for clicks like this. if they only realized their following would only grow if they just presented useful, more objective info. just too bad to see someone go thru 90% of the work, and completely ruin it with the last 10%. Sooo much of youtube has become well-lit people reading boxes/specs without any real/useable info - they're simply reading bulletpoints from the webpage. Fortunately we've got channels like GeraldUndone/OriginalDobo/Josh Satlin to learn from, and continue to support.
at the end of the day, what irritates me the most, is that alllll of these creators are willing to waste MY time on a clever thumbnail/title, only to deliver garbage content. I find it a bigger shame they're willing to waste their own time, but we're all adults here, and as the saying goes 'you can lead a horse to water but...'
I'm on a rant here obv, but if all the viewers on YT continue to watch garbage, and not say anyhting in the comments, I suppose we can't expect the content to improve. So, my new years resoution (started a bit early!) is to kindly yet firmly jump in on the comments and remind/beg these creators to do better - for their sake and for their subscribers. again, as viewers, we all want to support our fav channels, but don't give us an polarized vid with washy facts to push some weak collab deal or your shitty LUTs/affiliate links/overpriced master class/etc etc.
#dobetter is the hashtag I'm sticking with, and invite anyone reading this to do the same. i think a major revolution is coming to YT re: the shills & collab products - people are seeing thru it now more than ever. Couple years from now all this garbage content is going to even more laughable than it already is. so funny this day in age, if a new product comes out, we ALL know to ignore every single video that comes out on release day, for every single one of those creators aren't willing to tell the truth about a product - all in hopes to metaphorically get pack of ND filters for free if they post a glowing review/video. the creators that insist to #dobetter now will come out ahead in the coming years with their fan-base, sponsor deals, etc - and this is going to be a major separation in the type of content we will be watching in the yearas to come >endrant @@basquescout
@@basquescout Honestly, I've owned and flown a Mini 3 pro for over a year. I swabbed it for a Mini 4 pro which I have now. And well, being much better then the Mini 3. I am enjoying flying it though , but one key issue I have is the wind. Where I live, the wind is crazily heavy ... and the confidence I have now in flying the Mini4 is eroding . The wind rattles the drone that sometimes you feel it's gonna fly off somewhere unknown... just the confidence issues seeing your drone being battered around. Although the gimbal holds up perfectly , most at times. I am thinking again of a swab to go above the ladder with weight and size hence looking at the Air 3, which I have had the chance of trying my hands on. Weight, stability, camera perspective , battery life, speed and O4 .
Thanks for taking the time. This video is absolutely horrible.
The battery life on the air 3 is phenomenal that’s why I got it plus the 360 obstacle avoidance and of course the two cameras
Mini4pro has omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, the same as the Air3.
I got a Air 3. The tele camera is outstanding and the far bigger battery is even more a plus. But mainly I live in Chicago. And wind IS a major factor for me. My first drone was a Mini 2 and i can't use it here a lot of the time due to the winds. If you don't agree, to each their own. But i don't regret my decision. The Air 3 is by far the best drone i have ever owned and more than meets my needs and expectations. And no Mini can handle wind better than my Air 3.
In Europe, you'll better buy the Air 3 over the Mavic 3 Pro. The 70mm lens is the sweet spot and the Air 3 is within the C1 weight limit while the Mavic 3 Pro falls into C2 which makes a huge difference for EU customers. I own a M3P, a M4P, an Air 3 and a Mavic 3 (the first one, classified C1). If I could have only 2 drones I would keep one of the Minis plus the Air 3. Especially in the mountains the 70mm in the Air 3 gives stunning footage if you know how the use it well. And even if you put a filter and some strobe lights for night flight on it it is still well unter 900g. The Air 3 is the best drone I have bought up to this point.
Why not the Mavic 3 (C1, two cameras) as first drone? The difference in weight between the Air 3 and Mavic 3 is just the weight of a big apple...
@@allegriach 1. The tele lens is rubbish, no use at all if video quality is at least a bit important, 2. The wide angle image quality is not that much better and does not fit into the other DJI drone universe, colourwise, 3. The Air 3 is much more agile vertically, it rises and sinks in a very impressive speed while being same speed horizontally.
The (first) Mavic 3 has become obsolete for me, the Air 3 does some things better and nothing worse. The 70mm is a blast. Think I will sell the M3 at some time in the near future.
@@SpeedsterIG Very interesting for me. I sold my Air 2 and had a Air 3 in my mind. A Mavic 3 crossed my way. Very nice because I in every case I wanted the C1 certification. I really like the Hasselblad color but probably true: They don’t fit in combination with footage from other drones. The tele lens seems to be simmilar to my Air 2. In my field of use (hobbyist, with the aim of compressed UA-cam footage) from the quality quite enough. I made my decision for the Mavic 3 because I could buy a crashed without CR. Including the repair costs I was under EUR 1000. In general you probably don’t got the price tag the Mavic 3 is worth....
Thanks Amy, food for thought in my first Drone adventuring across SE QLD & beyond for a different perspective.
Instagram does not support 4k quality. Then what difference does it make buying mini 4 pro over an air 3?
The Air crops into the video, loosing the sides of the image where as the Mini 4 Pro retains every pixel and true aspect ratio resulting in a wider and taller image. Therefor you can frame your shot in its true form.
Who has a vertical 4k television on which the advantage in picture quality due to true vertical shooting is noticeable? Vertical shooting 4K is pointless, nice gimmick though. As I see it: choose the M4 Pro if you like to travel light and carry the drone around or frequently fly in areas where there are people around. Choose the Air 3 when the extra weight isnt an issue for you and you like the 70 mm lens shots, better wind resistance, extra speed and longer flight time
Great vid, good content and straight to the point without time wasting - big thumbs up from me!
Very good comparison. I will definitely pick up minib4 pro. Thanks
The part about the vertical video being just a cropped in image is partially false. Is it cropped in some? Yes. Is it just a cropped in image? No. You have to understand that the sensor isn't a 16:9 sensor. It's still a photo-based sensor so its aspect is probably more like 3:2, so when you go vertical, you're using the ENTIRE height of the sensor.
In other words, remember when TVs were 4:3 aspect ratio then when 16:9 became the standard, you'd have black bars above and below the image? That's essentially what's going on here, so when you switch to vertical mode, there's still a bit of real estate above and below the 16:9 crop on the sensor that can be used.
Anyone who has a drone knows this already when you switch from photo to video mode. You can see the top and bottom of the image get cropped off. It's all the sudden doesn't feel as wide cause when you go to 16:9, it crops off the top and bottom. And likewise, when you switch the Air 3 into vertical mode, it uses that entire height of the sensor including the parts that are cropped off when you're in 16:9.
So to tell people it's just a cropped in image of the 16:9 video is patently false.
exactly.. this sheila is shit
They don't have the same CMOS sensors! Stack sensor in Air 3 makes the difference.
I would pretend the Mini 4 Pro sensor is stacked as well....
I have both drones and main camera quality is identical, but I totally disagree on the remaining statements from the video.
Difference in windy conditions is massive with the Air3 totally unaffected by gusts seriously posing at risk the Mini4 and the 3x camera makes a huge difference in footage composition.
The fight time, as a nice bonus, is almost double while on the Mini you are forced in practice to use the Plus one (difficult to have in Europe and 'illegal').
If anything, in my opinion, is the Mini4 the one making almost no sense and I use it only in very specific urban scenarios.
Thank you she clearly didn't do her homework.
What about the wide-angle vs the optical zoom? You don't bring that up that's the difference between the cameras.
It really depends on what you're looking for in a drone. For me, relatively new to the drone world (started with a Mini 3 Pro about a year ago), looking for the aerial perspective now semi-retired from decades of serious pro landscape photography, I came to the polar opposite conclusion than what you're presenting here. Understand though, videography is way secondary for me, a fun little frill but still landscape imagery is my primary thing, and the 70mm camera, along with the versatility of having both 24 & 70mm, is the ONE overriding feature that has had me salivating over the Mavic 3 Pro since it's introduction. But it is simply beyond my retirement budget. With the Air 3 I can have that second mid-tele camera at HALF the cost of the Mavic 3 Pro. And there's frosting on that cake! The stacked backside illuminated sensor upgrade in the Air 3 provides MASSIVE image quality improvement (particularly for full resolution still image RAW files) over the prior generation of that sensor found in both Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Pro's 70mm camera. The real difference between the m4P and Air 3 is the second camera. For my needs, the
Good summation of factors that matter to me.
Hello. I can tell you that an Audi A1 is not the same as a Fiat 600, although they share some components, they are not the same.
The handling, wind resistance, batteries, stability, speed and construction are totally different from each other, giving it different characteristics.
In fact, the price is already different, there must be a reason.
Let alone at the Legal level and permits. One is category C0 (Mini pro 4) and the other C1 (Air 3).
Honestly, they are not the same at all.
The good thing and my recommendation is to compare drones with similar characteristics but from different brands.
Good video. It's always good to hear different points of view.
Perfect result! Reallly true - i bought the mavic 3 classic and i am thinking about an extra mini 4.
Corrections to this video: Vertical mode in Air 3 is not cropping the 16:9 video. The sensor of the drone is 4:3 so, it actually gives you more than a cropping of the 16:9 video, I can't really explain how this works in a yt comment, but you can do your research, but yes, having a rotated 16:9 is better than using the vertical mode of a 4:3 sensor. If the youtuber actually had the drone and tested it, she can corroborate this with a simple recording in both modes. And plz consider the autonomy of the drones, this video is misleading if major characteristics are missing in the "¿review?". I don't know anymore what is this xD it looks more like a frustration relief more than an informative video xD, and having a 70mm camera for only 300 USD more, could be worth for someone, who knows ;)
Great review ❤ perfect Naration
The two drones have the same size sensor but the sensor isn’t the same. Stacked sensors vs backlit sensor. Another thing is they don’t both have q4 transmission or obstacle avoidance. The air 3 has upgrades in both of these areas.
the mini 4 pro has the 04 transmission and has 360 obstacle avoidance 🤔
Show me a side by side and tell me one is better than the other 😅
@@amycreightonlike tons of content creators have already done? You should go watch the 15 videos comparing these two drones rather than just looking at spec sheets
Yes, that is all kinda true, but some of core points are left out of the scene
1 - air 3 has twice hight ascend and descend speeds 10ms against 5ms
2 - air 3 has 1000m altitude limit (in areas further 50km of airports) against mini 4 pro 500m
3 - air3 has longer flight distance than mini 4 pro even with plus battery
Love your videos, no nonsense practical approach is awesome, just a note, RC2 of Mini 4 supports Air 3, so you can fly both drones with one controller. Also if you buy Air3 FMC with RC-N1 you then have , again a spare controller that can fly both drones with third party software on your phone thus opening up a lot more options. 3:12
Stright to the point i love this channel amma sub rn tyty
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
2:08 "because really, it's just a dji mini 4 pro with an extra lens on it" It's really not, at all. It's *much* higher build quality, more robust, more powerful with better control and speed and wind handling.
The air 3 is only $100 more… It’s twice as fast, has twice the cameras, and twice the battery life stock.
Top❤❤❤❤
While there certainly are a lot of similarities between the two drones I think there is one important detail that wasn't mentioned in the video, and that detail is speed. The air 3 has a faster ascent, descent and top speed than the min 4 pro. What this means is that it can get up into the air or navigate to a desired location faster than the min 4 pro can. So even though they have similar flight times, the air 3 is going to ultimately be able to cover more ground. So while both models might be able to operate in similar wind conditions, the Air 3 is going to be able to handle traveling against the headwind better because its much heavier and more powerful than its mini counterpart.
I think it really comes down to the individual and what they have. Personally I still have my original mavic mini and I think both the mini 4 pro and the air 3 are attractive upgrade options. In my case, since I already have a mini model, im leaning more towards having a full size drone option, even though the mini 4 pro is a massive upgrade from the original mini.
Always interesting to see someone else's perspective. I'm about to buy drone, and pretty sure it will be the Air 3 because of the 3x zoom. I simply cannot afford the Mavic 3 pro right now, and my understanding is that the longer zoom on the Mavic (7x I think) is not all that useful. And while the rated wind speed is pretty similar between the two drones you reviewed, I've seen other review videos that talk about how the Air 3 really does perform much better in the wind. But again - I always appreciate getting another perspective.
Air 3 has more powerful sensors and more stable flight in high winds. It go up and come down very fast than my mini 3 pro. The quality of both the cameras are very good. And it can take off from 6000m altitude, which is useful for me as I trek on high altitudes in Himalayas. Battery backup is very good in Air 3. And finally those are separate segment drones. We cannot compare just based on camera specs. Even Mavic 3 pro has same 3x camera like air 3.
You seem to be a hater when it comes to the Air 3. I have both and the air 3 is. A upgrade in performance vs the Mini4 pro. But I'm not hating on the Mini 4 Pro either because it's a great drone. I really love them both. As well as my Avata! Another great little drone.
Not a hater. I love every single drone! I think they are amazing technology! I just try and give people my advice from personal experience. Not everyone is going to agree 😊
She's definitely an Air 3 hater
Ye but the DJI Mini 4 Pro just flys up 120 metres. This kills it all.
This explanation is the best with al facts i love my mini 4😊 greeting
I have both drones and both have advantages over the other, but overall i prefer the air 3
The air 3 has a better Design , stays cooler and works incredibly well with the Phantomrain Wet Suits so you can fly in the Rain.
Yup the mini 4 pro has no fan built in it gets so hot if you leave the battery in the drone and the drone is just sitting there like if I want to extract files directly from the drone one of the reasons I returned the mini 4 pro and got the air 3 best decision I'm so glad and happy now that I got the air 3 and I love the optical zoom camera absolutely phenomenal
I bought the mini 4 pro its an amazing drone
I appreciate that you have expressed a strong opinion. I love direct and to-the-point opinions but I feel you did not consider some of the facts over your potential bias. Each drone has a unique use case or DJI would not produce a different model. The Mini 4 Pro is a great option if you live in one of the countries that forces special licensing if you exceed 249 grams. If that is not a factor, your choices are greater. Although the Mini 4 Pro batteries can be purchased as a large capacity version, the European version typically defaults to a lower-capacity battery to keep it under 250g. There is a costs to upgrade those batteries to large capacity. The lower capacity battery is rated for 34 minutes as opposed to the Air 3 at 46 minutes with a standard battery. Because the Air 3 is a larger platform, the motors and props are more powerful. For example the Air 3 ascent and descent rate is 10 meters per second as opposed to Mini's 5 ms. This would matter if you needed to "keep up with a moving subject" or climb up terrain or a building at a fast rate. Again, use case matters. The 70mm 3X lens is fantastic for demonstrating a very sweet parallax effect by compressing the background as it keeps a POI centered as it revolves around. Again, this is a specific use case but that is the point. What is your use case? Price/budget, use case, needs, regulations. These are very different drones to the people that purchase them. I do like your choice because you are very happy with it, but please be aware, there is no compelling bad choice unless it does not fulfill your use case. I love all the drones and I wish I had the budget to own them all, lol. Just like tools in a toolbox.
i 100% agree.
Finally a honest constructive criticism
The Air 3 is a much bigger drone. This alone is a huge advantage when you're flying in windy locations. There is a huge difference between the Mini and the Air series. I have an Air 2 S and it is great in the wind and has a bigger sensor than any of your new drones. The wind rating doesn't matter. The footage you get does.
The Air 3 is LITERALLY just a better Mini 4 Pro. Everything the Mini 4 does, but it's faster, more sensors, more antennas, dual sensors, optical zoom, and better wind resistance. Yeah, Mini 4 Pro can do higher res vertical, but that's a pretty useless feature. 2.7k is okay enough for an aspect ratio I'd never use anyways. It's also a relatively small jump in price from the 4 pro, so it's a no brainer to spend the extra 20% or so for the upgrade. The only way I see a win for the Mini 4 pro is for traveling. If you're on vacation or something and wanna get some hand free selfie at a cool angle or something, or as a backup/secondary drone, or just for fun/as a hobby. Any kinds of professional work, though, and it's hands down the Air 3.
The Mavic 3 is what really doesn't make sense. Between the Mini, Air, and Mavic, it basically goes "good, better, even better in some ways worse in others. I think thats just because the current Mavic is kind of a generation behind the mini/air, though. Once a new Mavic launches it would go "good, better, best". As is, it makes ZERO sense to get the Mavic 3 Pro, unless you desperately need that EXACT sensor combination, because it's like 2.5x the price for a drone that basically just has a better sensor but is about equal or worse in everything else. DJI is kinda in a weird time between model generations in their line up right now.
Did you ever fly these drone? The differences would surprise you...
Re: the wind resistance, the specs are meaningless. Real world the Air 3 is going to be MUCH more stable and capable in high winds.
I don't think the mini 4 pro is as stable in strong winds compared to the air 3. I've seen videos of air 3 refusing to budge against a commercial leaf blower, while the mini 4 pro flips over.
As for true vertical shooting, the target for this form of shooting is phones. 4k of pixels is a complete waste on a phone and will surely be downsampled for delivery anyways.
Great video thank you. Finlay after all this time someone tells us exactly what the story is with the cams on those two drones. Thanks again
The comparison seems biased and doesn't accurately justify all the differences. There's a much greater cost difference between the Air 3 and Mavic 3 Pro. What's with the man up statement. I've had a mini flyaway due to the wind, and the weight of the Air 3 does handle better. Both great drones, but get the correct tool for your needs.
Maybe test both of them first before posting something like this 😂😂😂
I'd pay more and get the air 3 for it's reliability in high winds when flying far out for longer. Mini is for close range flights. Also the mavic super tele shoots only in normal profile, so it's useless. It's better to get air 3 because you've got the 2 cameras that matter. It's cheaper than the mavic, more reliable than the mini. It's the perfect done tbh
The air three can hold more gernades than the mini 4 pro. So get the air 3 🙂
You lost me with the wind comparison. In the UK i have many days i can't fly the mini, but the air 3 has no issue whatsoever.
You really don't understand the air 3 at all. It's a mid tier beauty.
I have 8 drones 🧐 flown the mini series for ages… and flown them at wind farms during construction on ridiculously windy days, the drone is a beast in the wind, for its size compared to any larger drone it’s amazing.
@@amycreighton well if I go up a hill/mountain over here I can't use it half the time. No issue at all with the air. I don't think you get the weather we have, or you'd know exactly what I'm saying.
Another big plus on the Air 3 is the speed it travels
😂 true but if you want real speed, buy an fpv drone!
right but most people will not want FPV footage
@@amycreighton I like getting into position fast.. doesn't necessarily mean I want to use FPV for it.
Air 3 = Much better Wind resistance - 2nd camera => 3 times zoom -Better battery. What are you talking about??? Nice name on that shift
I have mini 3 pro, bought air 3.. Now I have 2 great drones for different kind of use and restrictions. 70mm optical x3 and beyond, waypoint programming for shooting videos, Ocusync4..
DJI Air 3 is strong to fight with wind . building in quality is also hard . DJI Air 3 has inbuilt cooling fan which cools down the drone from getting over heat . Air 3 has good easy fix propeller it also has Alluminium body on down part . Gimbal are good strong. Zoom quality is best of best . And so many good features. Only the down part is vertical shooting. Rest all is best of best . But DJI mini 4 pro is also best most problem with mini 4 pro is it gets heat up soon when your not flying and gimbal overload happens and also when flying in full sun drone gets heat up and again gimbal overload happens u will getting shaking videos. Rest everything is good
> Mini 4 Pro... great in the wind for its size
Hobbits will appreciate that
you forgot to state as FACT that the mini 4 is better than a cure for cancer because it`s your favourite colour of gray
Gee,I think you may be out voted about 10 to 1 there. Time-lapse and hyperlapse with air 3 is far more stable, and you'll get the air 3 back if caught out in a wind on return home. Mini drones look like kids toys,a bit embarrassing when people see it.☺️🤣
Mini 4 pro is working way harder in the wind, which means it’s going to be slower and use more battery life than the Air 3.
My first Air is very good since new.. after over 18 months I believe.. not flying it.. now the remote go bad, video go bad.. it's really disappoint for me.. May be I let it sit for long time..🤷🏻♂️.. but truly I bought mini4 pro.. I feel like flying it more then the old Air I had.. but I really want to buy the new Air 3 pro instead of Mavic pro.. I'm just saying it.. 😂.. $$ was my issue now..
The Ultimate K A R E N .,,, they are getting everywhere....
You don't really seem to know what you're talking about. A lot of it is just comparing the stats on paper which differ quite a lot in real life. It would've been much nicer to have a hands-on review as well
lol
I had the Air 3 before the Mini 4 Pro came out. In the second day the AIr 3 ran into a tree branch and fell about 15 feet to the grass below. The right front leg (the part that touches the ground), ripped off. It was hollow inside so the drone is extremely fragile. Luckily due to previous complaints about an error right out of the box, I was able to get a refund.
Next I bought the Mini 3 Pro, but the video camera didn't work (just got a black screen). So back it went to the merchant. Three months passed....
The Mini 4 Pro drone was introduced and bought. What a huge difference! It is by far the best drone I have (even after buying the Autel EVO 2 Pro Enterprise V3 ($4,000). This drone is back to the shop the third time due to warranty covered issues). After the recent firmware update on the Mini 4 Pro, it is perfect!
You should work for CNN
Looks like someone wishes they bought a air 3 vs a mini.
The ONLY one reason the pilot should buy Air 3 instead of the so called "Pro" class TOY Drone the Mini 4 is just the Wind Resistance ability, Air 3 is more heavier so that It's wind resistance ability was a most valued added function for the pilot who wants to shoot a steady and satisfy video or still photos~ obviously, the Mini 4 Pro never achieved this level, just under the very clam weather with a little breeze, the Mini 4 just left off at the 1.2M high in the air, it's body's vibration and shaky will shock you in deep impression~
talked me right out of the air three ordering the mini 4 pro today!!!!!

I… I just don’t have the energy. It’s very clear you haven’t flown too much. Wind destroys the mini drones. It’s not the speed it’s the sheer weight. I was in a windy situation on vacation and I’m glad I brought both drones. The mini was being thrown all over the place and the other you’d never know in the video there was wind.
Don’t be that negative person for likes. You completely glossed over why air 3 is a good drone and better than mini 4. I sold my mavic 3 because I want the second camera and the air 3 is a real contender OVER the mini 4.
You don't tell the practice. here: DJI Mini 4 Pro vs Air 3: The Deciding Factor! from Stephen De Los Rios ( ua-cam.com/video/CXsCoql9BBc/v-deo.html )
I love that you have the kahunas to post a review that goes against the grain. I totally agree with your callouts. Ive got both drones, and i live on the beach. I rarely use the Air3, because the Mini4pro is just so bloody good. Its quiet, so Karens dont hassle me, its so easy to take anywhere in my jacket pockets, and the performance is superb. Ill probably sell the Air3 and save up for the Mavic3pro, tbo.
Well done, Amy!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Get both problem solved. Or Mavick 3 pro. You’re welcome
I do not understand all the moaning about "not true vertical shooting" on the Air 3. So it crops down to 2.7k - so what? If you need to shoot vertical for social media sharing (which seems like a niche use anyway) then why does it matter if it's 2.7k? On social media it looks the same! So much time spent in all these comparison videos talking about the most negligible distinction between the two. Also - we can all read specs. Don't know how you can fairly judge wind resistance between the two without doing a real life test. Just because they're rated to similar numbers doesn't mean they perform similarly in those conditions. Pretty useless "comparison" video all around.
Depends if you have a client who requests 4K vertical? It is a thing..
@@amycreighton "I'm going to need 4k for our TikTok feed," said no client ever. It is not a thing.
@@gregv2821 lol actually we do heaps of ads for Facebook and TikTok and they request 4K vertical all the time.
No body should tell any body what they should buy if you have the money you can buy what ever you want people always think they know better i have all of these drones and i love every one so whats the problem?
I’m not telling anyone to buy anything. This is just my opinion, thankfully it’s not a crime to do so. Hopefully this video helps people who are fed the same shit every day with positive reviews on every single drone that’s released! Just offering up another honest opinion, not a bias paid for video like most UA-camrs 🤦🏼♀️
@@amycreighton ok but i keep hearing this all the time by every new drone that comes out from dji i did not mean to hurt your feelings❤
@@gregorylouis7103 all good man takes a lot to hurt my feelings 😅
Bro you can get sued by the dji company for talking bad
Im not talking bad mate, watch the review
vertical shooting is a joke, cropped or not.
You are missing the point.
lol ... bait click 1m leave.
Never buy dji mini 4 pro..very bad experience me with mini 4 pro...bad plastic quality and heating problem..wrost product..
do not watch this video
Don’t watch my videos at all mate 😅
Worst review ever 😂😂😂
That thumb is obnoxious clickbait. I'm not going to waste time explaining. A few commenters have done an excellent job of that (thank you, kenzilla). This is just bad content.
But it was compelling enough for you to comment, job done mate. It’s hard to stand out on UA-cam.
you stand out as a karen psycho....@@amycreighton
This is completely useless without raw footage from both.
Sorry, I disagree.
Disagree. Do a thorough research.
"F" dji
Air 3 beats mini 4 pro. But mavic 3 pro beat air 3. Simple fact.
Love the brutal honesty! Appreciate this video as I was on the fence between the two… not anymore 🫠
The DJI air 3 is extremely faster it's have no problem with wind 🍃 2 camera that why I buy it
