really loved the honesty about the DJI Mini 4 and the little tips. So many drones to choose from but as a beginner you've convinced me that this drone will give me all I need.
Wow. Trully impressed. So tired of convetional drone channels. To be honest even dron footage seemed less atractive. But this. This was superb. Great pace. Great lighting. Tastefull. Really.
Great honest review i treated myself to the mini 4 pro its great and i love how it handles the wind one of my main reasons to buy it ...well im from scotland you seen the weather? lol
😄 your a funny bugger.. and I mean that in the nicest way.. Thanks for that informative review mate, I dont have a drone yet but your helping people decide. (That "over tightened screw" is a bit of a worry... could be a decider if it happened in the factory...wow..)
Been to Madeira, a lovely island. That was in 2000. And I am sure it's still the same.. As for drones. I bought many silly old drones long before cameras. And never could fly them, lol. But I have read and seen so much about DJi that it looks like they are the only company that makes decent drones. I have watched from the first mini and will wait until I feel ready. Which will probably be the next one when that happens..
Great channel and great content! Wish you luck! Can you share your editing/grading workflow and how's? Also, what do you think about dji own LUT. Also, how do you fly it of your hands, and how do you land it?
Thanks. I have a colour correcting/ grading video up if you look back on the older videos. I’d have to do another video about palm take off, although it’s pretty easy
Just cancelled my Air 3. Thinking about leaving it for a while now untill an incorporated beer tap is announced. Sooner rather than later would be a good thing. Loved the video 👍👍
Wow, only in the first t4 minutes and am already laughing, and impressed by the narration yo have a world voice voiceover speak on your behalf! I have the Mini 3 and 4 Pro, and a month with the Avata 2. All three have their place in what I do. Each have their own specialized use/need to flying remote, and FPV. The Mini 4 Pro in FPV I think is doing to prove itself in a new way the others cannot. Great post! Looking forward to my next adventure@ Great job!🇺🇸
Great video for someone who is about to upgrade from a Mavic Pro Platinum dinosaur to the Mini Pro 4. The Attenborough segment pushed me over the edge before a future doomtuber might put me off. Subbed and liked. (not the only reason I subbed, but was low key hoping it would roll your count to 6K. Congrats when it happens!)
Love the video and some really great cinematic shots. Put a small dab of removable Loctite thread locker on the screw threads and then turn the screws in with a #000 or 1.5mm quality Philips screwdriver (don't use the one that came with the kit) until they bottom out - do not tighten them further. In 20 minutes the Loctite will cure and the screw will not back out. The screws for my Mini 2 always came with a small bit of thread locker on them. I'm not sure about the Mini 4 Pro, although I know they are a different screw type from the Mini 2. I've just ordered a Mini 4 Pro so I'll find out.
Thanks Ian, great video, super helpful! Just purchased my mini 4 pro and will be traveling from the States to Scotland (Edinburgh and St. Andrews area). Any tips/suggestions/restrictions for droning in that part of the country?
Hi, there are strict rules to fly in Portugal/Madeira, , like being member of ANAC, get authorisation to film from the Nacional Aeronautic Authority, and authorizations to film on national parks and beaches...any HINTS on how to get those licenses/authorizations?
That was brilliant buddy. Well put together and great points made regarding 4 Pro.......... other parts of video, so funny and again well put together. 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
Great to have a new vid from you Ian. Still flying my Mini 2 (when I can here in the NW!!!!) and the 4 is my goal to get when I can afford it. This has been a really helpful video and beautifully shot with great editing. Thanks and keep at it. Always look for your videos.
Great video. I had that same trepidation when I bought mine. Do I really need to spend the money when I already have the mini 3? We'll, I did, and I'm not sorry for it. Gave the mini 3 to a family member.
I keep looking at this drone, it ticks a lot of boxes but if I'm honest, I have a very old DJI F450, one of DJI's early kit build drones which I've not flown in ages because of all the new restrictions, so this really appeals.
Great vid mate! I've got a Mavic 3Pro as well as the Mini 4Pro. I fly the Mini 4Pro more. Much better signal/range with O4 on the Mini 4 than the O3+ on the Mavic. I'm travelling from here in Australia to Singapore then the UK/Europe and onto the States later this year. The Mavic 3 will be staying at home. Sub 250g drone just less hassle to fly.
Great video mate, loved the comedy aspect to it with the David Attenborough and massage however I’m hoping my DJI Mini 3 pro can make me breakfast on the next update
LOL at the DJI Mini 12 advertising with the massage! 😁For the rest, thanks much for the related and accurate information. I'm considering purchasing the DJI Mini 4 Pro and am still wondering if it’s worth buying.
That was a really, really, good "Long Term" review. When I bought my Mini 4, your initial review gave me hope that I had not wasted my pennies. And, I've enjoyed flying so much that I have bought two more batteries. For me, I'm only getting about 20 minutes flight time and the two extra batteries have given me more air time to capture my ariel masterpieces. I don't know about you, but the red tape on my drone has saved its little life many times on the prom this year with so many Herring Gulls taking potshots at it. My faithful little drone has returned home a few times with seagull sh1t peppered on it. I also love the Coarse-Lock and Spotlight features the most and they have given me some stunning footage. Last week I was on the prom and bumped into a professional drone pilot and his Mavic 3. He showed me a Pinching Technique on the sticks, however he was mighty impressed with the simplicity of my Spotlight feature as I spiralled my drone up and around the Tower just after sunset. Sadly I am not the biggest fan of dLog-M and avoid it like the plague. I much prefer HLG with the Natural profile coming a close second when used in low light. I also find both of those colour profiles play nicely and I can match shots better in Resolve. Try as hard as I can but I do a terrible job matching dLog-M with any of my other cameras. I find Night Mode the worst of all the colour profiles, with it turning everything into a waxy crayon mush.
@@Ian.A.Anderson I'm getting all giddy with Waypoints at the moment and have plans for later this year when it starts to get dark. I want to do some day to night stuff with pre-programmed flights. At the moment it does not get dark till around 22-30hrs but give it a couple of months and I will be out playing 🤣 BTW I've killed one drone while flying at night. It got killed by a Darlek. True story. I was filming one of the Illumination displays of some Darleks and the Tardis. As it went dark, I did not spot the thin 2mm wire, but the drone sure did find it.
I jump from mini 3 pro to mini 4 pro and you have right that drone is perfect. It was only by changing the drones that I could see how imperfect the mini 3 was. It should be the mini 3 pro right away, maybe dji cuts the cake in half and makes twice the money on the same thing, who knows...
Nice vid as always Ian, just one thing bud, you've misspelled the name of the island, it is Madeira (EI), you spelled Madiera (IE). I still have my mini3 pro and i'm happy with it, didn't see the need to upgrade to the mini4 pro but i've got the feeling that this year will be a new drone from dji that i might be interested in, whether it is the mini5 pro or the Air 4, let's just wait and see what's coming 😄
Thanks for this. I've left a lot of comments lately slating drone UA-camrs for their rubbish clickbait thumbnails. And as for their LUT packs, words fail me.
Brilliant and entertaining. I also get fed up with the influencer videos. I, too, bought the mini 4 pro a few months ago after a friend crashed my original mini 1 into a volcano in Lanzarote!
If you're quick there's a great money off deal on the Air 3 right now. Longer lens and faster for vehicle tracking. Not only will it also cook breakfasts, it'll order a taxi for your date to take him/her/them/it home.
“Why aren’t you more like Ian?” asked my wife. She heard your voice as I began to watch and insisted on viewing the entire video with me. Fortunately, her fervor was tempered somewhat by the leech analogy. I can only hope for a firmware update-soon-to turn her thoughts of you and the spinal massage, back to me, as she and I watch together, the mesmerizing, inciting download.
I love how the new firmware update killed all of those better than o. e batteries. I had some batteries that gave me 30% more fly time and much better standby discharge rates. Now I can't use them. Way to go dji👍🙄
@@Ian.A.Anderson If you have 3rd party batteries and want to continue using them I'd suggest you don't, because you won't be able to. Had they made it known I wouldn't have updated. Pretty shady if you ask me. A lot of people are pissed. Great content by the way.
Love the ‘Attenborough’ voice over 😂
Made the whole video for me 😂
really loved the honesty about the DJI Mini 4 and the little tips. So many drones to choose from but as a beginner you've convinced me that this drone will give me all I need.
That’s the best advice I have heard in awhile, LEARN ONE FEATURE AT A TIME
Excellent and informative review and I spat my coffee out laughing at the David Attenborough skit. Loved it
Simply one of those pearls that i found today. Interesting information and a portion of good humor (voiceover). I like it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dude, your honesty and humor made me a new subscriber immediately. Thanks for the laughs.
Much appreciated
Good morning I have this mini4pro learning more each this keep on flying my friend
Hi, thanks for this relaxing review ! Does the red reflective tape worked for you "against" birds ?
So far so good. No angry seagulls have attacked my drone

And you flew "near" of them ?
Wow. Trully impressed. So tired of convetional drone channels. To be honest even dron footage seemed less atractive. But this. This was superb. Great pace. Great lighting. Tastefull. Really.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I think tech channels generally are getting very predictable
A great video chucked my original screwdriver away and I warmed the end up slightly to loosen the blue thread locker 😎
The extra effort you put into the comedy at the end was worth it for us viewers, trust me! Nice work.
Much appreciated!
Great video, informative and humorous. Although it did end a bit suddenly and why not just say how to remove stuck screw?
Ian, you make such wonderful content. Thank you so much!🎉
Glad you enjoy it!

I’m not sure I could handle the hangovers but I’ll review it before passing judgement
I recently got the M4P and my wife is from Madeira(Sao Vicente) and i can't wait to get out there and do some filming.
What's with the red tape? For birds? What kind of tape is that?
Yes to prevent bird attacks. Just standard reflective red tape

Oh my aching back... 🤣
🤣
I don't know about cooking your breakfast, but I know for sure that with wind warnings, I don't have to worry about getting pee on my shoes 😂
😂
The simple fix to changing propellers successfully is buy a high quality screwdriver. The kit one is rubbish, something DJI could resolve easily
True but there’s still an issue with flights, my friend had his higher quality screwdriver taken off him at security
It sounds like the problem is that the threads of the screw get stripped, not the head.
My pictures and videos are so much better for me with the Gnd 16 filter on sunrise and especially sunsets 😊
Really? I’ll look into it
I already Buy
Master Air Screw Stealth Propellers. More durable, quieter. Worth the $15 investment. The stock DJI propellers are overly fragile.
Do they keep the M4Pro under 250g?
