I restore 12V Cordless Hammer Drill & Rebuild the Battery | HAMMER DRILL EZ6802

  • I rarely see a 12V cordless hammer drill like this. This is my first experience with this tool, after open this tool I am really surprised with gearbox inside this drill. The drill is small but the structure inside is like the big one. The motor inside is like the motorbike starter motor. It consumes much current. If I can upgrade it to the brushless motor, that will be awesome.
    Battery Rebuild Items
    - BMS 3S40A
    - Lithium 18650 3.7V 3200mAh
    - Nikel strip
    - 18650 Battery Bracket
    - 12.6V 5A Li-ion charger
I hope you find something useful & enjoy this video!
I am happy to receive your feedback, advice, suggestions to improve myself.
!!! I apologize for the mistake if I have made in this restoration !!!

Jesus, were they having a competition to see who could create the most complicated drill chuck? I'd have given up on that halfway through disassembly. Nice job on the restoration, but man you have WAY more dedication than I do.

Yes, it was more complicate that I thought too.

Forgiveness and restoration are two difference acts. Forgiveness can lead to restoration but restoration is not hinged to forgiveness.

This hammer drill must be OLD! Those are NiCad (Nickel/Cadmium) batteries. They used to place the 10th battery in the "neck" of the battery pack that goes up into the tool body. That is why it is there! Also, that is why he needed to make a "dummy cell", to mount the contacts to. :-) (1.2V nominal per cell, NiCad, in series X 10 = 12V. New battery pack is 3 X 3.7V cells in series (11.1V X 2 in parallel). The run time of this tool, when new, was a lot less than what it will be now with the Lithium power pack. Awesome restoration! It was in pretty rough shape!

Just putting my thoughts out there regarding the circlip bending out of shape, when you heat the bare metal parts you are ruining the heat treatment of them! so the hardened keys that keep the gears locked to the shaft are likely now soft etc along with the circlip, hence why is bent out of shape so easily. For components which aren't hardened the heating and dropping in oil technique is perfect but for hardened components you should definitely look into getting some cold blue liquid since that will not affect the heat treatment of the steel! other than that awesome job! :D
