Phenomenal video! Probably one of the best explanations of tuning I have ever heard. There's so much made up jargon here on UA-cam about tuning. You use simple and direct terms which is very much appreciated!👍👍👍

      Hey Donny!
      Hope all is well.
I ordered a Walkerized 461R from you guys on September 27th via email with John.
Just wanted to say I'm pretty stoked to get it.
Anyhow thanks for all the good content 👌

This was a really helpful video, and was exactly what I needed to know about in dealing with my Stihl 261C. I definitely subscribed. Thanks -

Thanks for making this video to illustrate how simple this procedure is. Definitely a plus for Stihl m-tronic saws being able to replace just the solenoid. I run a ms661 sometimes that is 8 years old now, kept the debris out of the tank, a new filter and good oil and gas mix, the saw has had zero issues. I don't remember doing a reset on it but maybe once years ago. Maybe it's an example of only one but proper maintenance really pays.

    Good job Donny 😎👍
That's the one thing about the mtronic vs the husky carb, Husky doesn't have the replacement solenoid, have to replace the carb.

@@donnywalker4691 not sure if you've run into it, but apparently with the 201TC, sometimes the replacement solenoid and the OEM coil won't communicate, so there still ends up being the same symptoms after doing the solenoid and apparently it may require a coil too...Richard Flagg has a bunch of info on it in one of his videos on UA-cam

I replaced the black solenoid with a green one on my 201tc because the local Stihl tech said the white one was not back compatible with the older control module. Long story short, saw runs like a champ.

Great video Donny, I understand Stihl tech documents specify the white solenoid can't be used in every model/carb? Can you confirm?

Is it your experience that new Stihl saws with the M-tronic carburetor still have a problem that requires periodic replacement of the fuel solenoid, or is this something Stihl has now fixed?

Donny- can you explain why Canucks say “ SemE” while after 60+ years of being in the cab of one, I was told that the proper way to say it is “ Sem-eye”. I watch the tow truck shows that visually have stunning exploits of winter boo boos driving up North of the Border, and the commentators Always pronounce it your way. No offense ment to y’all but I am confused about lots of stuff, and I figger a respected member of the Canuckistan Saw Council could help me with pronunciation as well as fixin stubborn cutting tools. You do great informative videos bye the way! Greetings from your southern border.

I see complaints of newer Stihl top handles not wanting to restart after first refueling. Most explain as like a vapor lock type situation. Does the bad solenoid list of symptoms include this issue? Thanks
