Walking away from someone I loved because he was not showing me he wanted a real relationship was painful but LIBERATING. If I didn't walk away I would have never met the msn who did value me and wanted something real. ❤

What helped me a lot was audio journaling. Every time my ex or any toxic family member did or said something that was disrespectful/dismissive I would document the details of how it happened and describe how I felt in that moment. And when I’m in a better mood/ or begin to gaslight myself thinking “oh it wasn’t that bad” or “nobody’s perfect “ etc I’ll go back and listen to my journal entries. It’s amazing how hearing your own voice can grab your attention and snap you back into reality. ❤️

I recently did this with a friendship. He would emotionally weaponize me about something in my past years ago whenever he got angry so I realized I did not want a friendship like that. I walked away freely knowing that I will continue to pray for him and his healing. The moment you continue to bring up the past (friendship or relationship) I’m out the door….pronto!
