British couple TAKE ON Chongqing's food scene. A rainy night in the Cyberpunk capital of China, Jack and Paige head out on a foodies dream, trying some of the best street food Chongqing has to offer. We start tame with some deep fried mushrooms coated in a spicy seasoning, followed by some of the best grilled pork we have ever eaten. The pork doesn't stop there though as we go on to taste the CRISPIEST pork of our lives, almost too good to share. Next up, the world famous DAN DAN noodles, before heading to some of Chongqing's most famous sites. We head to the famous ground floor platform that isn't on the ground, but the 30th floor. We go to get a view of the Hongya Cave from the real ground floor, try the famous Strawberry Tanghulu and climb our way through the cave before ending the video.

Please do not try to stand to Xinjiang, it will be very tiring. If you have to, you can bring a portable bench and sit when there are empty seats on the train or sit in the dining car.

The best option is to contact the train crew on board to upgrade to a sleeper berth, which will give you the best traditional train travel experience

The DanDan noodles in Chongqing are not actually that spicy, they are more fragrant. The truly spicy food is the hot pot. Moreover, if you want to taste more authentic and delicious food, you should ask the locals. Generally speaking, the food at scenic spots is not particularly delicious, but it's fine to try it once. By the way, Chongqing's small noodles are quite famous. You should look for small noodles in some local streets and you can ask the locals for directions.

    1) Chongqing was a city in Sichuan Province before 1997, and was designated as a municipality directly under the central government after 1997.
    2) The advertisement for the crying girl actually means it's delicious enough to cry.
    3) The pork used for barbecue is a variety called "Tibetan fragrant pig", the taste will be better than ordinary one.
    4) Hongya Cave is actually a private property that was created by an entrepreneur into its current form.
    5) The rice paper wrapped around the strawberry Tomatoes on sticks is edible.

33:05 It's probably glutinous rice paper. They just melt in your mouth and then you can taste the real food soon after. Many sticky desserts are covered by these in Asian cuisine, but it's the first time I see people cover tanghulu with them. It's actually pretty clever.

The 7:25 crying girl comes from a 2023 China television series , "The Hidden Love"
Actually, this girl has a conflict with her boyfriend, and is crying in the airport. Her elder brother lined up 30 minutes to buy this food for her. This drama is famous in China, and the store owner use this picture to show the food they are selling is the same to the drama.
BTW, this food is fried duck with mashed taro filling, a local snack in Xiamen and the neighbouring cities. The mashed taro is sweet and add unique flavor to the fried food.
Have a good day in China!

Hello, jack, I suggest that you'd better not go to Xinjiang by train. I took a train to Xinjiang about six years ago, and it was a painful memory. And you still don't have a seat. It's going to be a tough trip. Stir-fried strips and mutton skewers are the most recommended in Xinjiang. I highly recommend you to go to Guilin, Guangxi, which has amazing natural scenery. I hope you have a good trip.

I suggest that after you get on the train, you find a staff member to make up for the ticket. Tell them that I need to make up for a berth, and when you have a seat, you can get one. Both a regular berth and a deluxe berth will be much better, and you can ask the staff member to queue up to make up for the berth.

You are going to Xinjiang, it's really a boost for your courage. Regular trains take more than 30 hours and you still don't have tickets. However, after getting on the train, you can try to find a train attendant to make up for sleeper tickets. Usually, after boarding the train, one can get a sleeper ticket for a period of time. Xinjiang is worth a visit, with many delicious foods and different customs and traditions

On the train, you can ask the staff for the location of the dining car. The dining car allows you to order dishes and then sit there to eat and rest. Generally, boxed meals cost around 20 yuan per serving, or stir fried dishes cost around 50 yuan per plate. Different trains are different, but eating in the dining car allows you to rest and wait for a ticket to be paid. Otherwise, it's really tiring and I feel sorry for you all

Chinese netizens are expecting you to go to Xinjiang with a standing ticket. It's so cool. Few people dare to try this in China

      相信我,他们一定不会站着到达目的地。最大的可能是,白天有无数善良的普通人给他们让座,而晚上,列车员会邀请他们到宿营车休息。

In China, the most dangerous thing at night is the food stalls. They are so delicious that people gain weight.
